NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CALIFORNIA -- I paid $40 for blue prints so Home Depot could do a take off on 277 custom interior doors. A $240,000 project just in materials. My customers name was on the drawings. The regional manager jumped in a said my customer was on their commercial account list, but he didn't know how to get a hold of them. Hoover vacuum at Home Depot 11-29-13, responding to their insert in the
Atlanta Journal/Constitution of 11-28-14. It is advertised as $189.00 minus $91.00 for a sale price of $98.00.
Fortunately we opened the box the next morning and were kind-of-floored to remove the vacuum from the closed, taped, box only to find it dirty, and the canister with dirt in it plus no instructions. Home Depot must think we are dumb or something. Anyway I returned it that day and the "associate" upon seeing the vacuum did not say a word; like "We're sorry" or "I don't know how that could have happened!"
FLORENCE, ALABAMA -- The carpet purchased for our home has been shedding for 2 years. Contact has been made with the local store and the other persons in management. We have left messages and written letters and there has been little response and little attention has been given to my 2 year old problem. Several test has been done on the carpet paid for by the Home Depot. A offer has been made to give me a new vacuum cleaner and $300.00 gift card which neither is acceptable, I have a $4,000.00 carpet which I am paying on each month.
Please give me some assistance in getting this problem solved. I have a house full of bad carpet and one day while vacuuming I am going to have bald spots.
LEWIS CENTER, OHIO -- I am a senior citizen and my garbage disposal was not working. I went to Home Depot to buy another one. No one was in the department to help me. The disposal I needed was on a high shelf. I had to reach over my head to get it off of the shelf, not really knowing how heavy it was. So I finally got it off of the shelf. I then needed some pipe putty, again no one around. I saw an employee walking down another aisle, and shouted for assistance. He pointed me in the direction of the pipe putty and said that he would call someone else to help me. When the other person arrived, he got what I needed, but was very unpleasant in doing it. I then proceeded to the check out counter and no regular personnel to check me out. It was all self checkout. I was upset about this and finally an employee came over and assisted with the self checkout. I then went to my car. There was a younger employee almost waiting for my cart, but he did nothing to assist me in getting the garbage disposal into the car. He did not even speak. It was dark outside and he did have clothing on that no one would know he was an employee unless they were next to him.
After I struggled with the disposal, he took the cart away I asked him about the lack of assistance for senior citizens he did not respond. I will never go to another Home Depot and I will tell my friends not to support your company. .
Why does night crew have to work Wednesday night until 6am before Thanksgiving when day employees don't. You also stated on Face Book that your giving your employees the day off because you care. Well that's false because we are working until 6am and Thanksgiving day starts at Wednesday midnight. Night crew has to sleep or travel but now we can't because we had to work. Add reply
FREEHOLD, NEW JERSEY -- I bought two X Box Live gift cards from a display at the Home Depot yesterday. This morning while I was in another store I found the same card for half the price so I bought it and then drove to the Home Depot to return the cards bought yesterday. I had the receipt with the two gift receipts and was told I could not return the cards. There was no warning or sign by the gift card display that it was the stores policy not to refund the cards. I had these two questions. Why was a gift receipt given? Why was I not told or was there a sign that stated the policy? There answer was that is the policy and there is nothing they can do. I told them that they just lost a customer.
I also called X Box Live and they had the same policy although nothing was written on the back of the card that I could not return it. I find this very unfair!
INDEPENDENCE, MISSOURI -- All I can say is please please please do not use Home Depot for any remodel. Once they get your money its over, the contractors they use are jokes. They couldn't measure a 12" ruler. I remodeled my kitchen and left the measuring up to Home Depot, I was told if I measure it wrong its on me, if they do it its on them. Well they measured my kitchen 1-12/" to short on one wall. After contacting the Independence MO store I was told "what do you want use to do, the cabinets are done as well as the counter tops. You should have found the mistake earlier". I trusted Home Depot to measure the room correctly, do the job they were paid to do. I have a $1500 fridge in the corner and can't open the freezer door. I'm disgusted with the way they work and conduct business and will do what I can to stop people from making the same mistake.
I'm keeping this short and sweet, I have learned a very valuable lesson in life. if you want it done right do it yourself. DO NOT USE HOME DEPOT FOR ANYTHING!

HICKORY, NORTH CAROLINA -- Beware! Home Depot in Hickory, NC - We bought LG stove 11/08 and have had it repaired many times. The stove tore up a couple of days after extended warranty ran out. Same problems from previous repairs. We were told that it would never work for more than a few months at a time. Repair bill $400 for top and bottom control boards. Also, this LG we just found out is under recall. Please do your home before you purchase anything LG. Horrible company. Does not back up their products. We technically only used the oven for four years because is stayed tore up off and on for a year. Repairmen said the best thing to do was to throw it away. It could not be sold because it would always tear up. We ended up having to buy a stove on our own. Please do your homework and read reviews. Beware! Home Depot used third party people to do their repairs. Lowes uses local people and gives you a better extended warranty.

WEST CHESTER, OHIO -- I ordered an Echo back pack blower a few weeks ago from Home Depot. I received confirmation the package had been delivered, however we received no such package. I call customer support and stated I did not receive the package. They stated their records showed it was delivered to the correct address. After repeating myself several times that I never received the package they said they would do an investigation. I received an email shortly after stating the following "This e-mail is to notify you we will not be refunding you for the following item because we show the item delivered to the shipping address that was provided when the order was placed." Basically tuff sh*t we say it was delivered to correct address and it is now your problem and loss.
I did end getting a call from my neighbor who was out of town for several days later stating they delivered the blower to her house instead of mine. It is just irritating that it was delivered to wrong house due to the fault of their delivery company and their mistake was to become my loss. Thankfully, my neighbor returned it to me.

MARINA DEL REY, CALIFORNIA -- DO NOT BUY FROM HOME DEPOT. THEY DO NOT BACK THEIR PRODUCTS AND PROVIDE DEFECTIVE MERCHANDISE AND THEN CHARGE THE CUSTOMER TO HAVE IT RESHIPPED.
The sink I ordered on-line was delivered to the Home Depot with a large crack. My contractor picked it up and returned it immediately. He was told by customer service for me to order another one and have it shipped expedited because my bathroom was being held up due to this defective product. However, when I called the department laughingly called customer service, I HAVE TO PAY $43 for the expedited shipping to get another sink in 3 days rather than waiting a week.
SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS -- Well two women showed up on time from the Home Depot to give us a refacing quote and other things we wanted to add on to our cabinets and this was not a lot. They were both rude disrespectful and did not take into account what my wife and I wanted all they kept saying was it was two expensive and acted as we were below them. So when the quote was done it was a straight price of 20,659 with no breakout sheet of what was the cost and the stupid thing was this was just for refacing cabinets and doors no counter top or anything. So we stayed calm and let them contradict each other on price. I am very disappointed in the way that acted and how many poor people they have ripped off. So I called another company that is well known in San Antonio and for 9000 I can get all new cabinets with way more options with a granite counter top WTF.
I am sorry but I have always liked Home Depot but not anymore. The quote sheet is a joke and I hope a Home Depot representative gets in touch with me cause there is a lot more to tell.
BROOKLYN, NEW YORK -- I order 16 windows through Home Depot @ home and an entry door with frames and top glass arch on may 31 2013 . They came a week later to measure door and windows. I signed a contract and started my first payment July. They set appointment to install windows July -18 and when they came it didn't fit it was the wrong size so they came to measure again then they came back September 9 and they installed 4 windows and three are short and the other two were damage then they had to stop the job and the boss came and manager came back a week later and saw the job and said the windows were the wrong size so they came back to measure again.
Then they cane the third time September 23 and and windows didn't fit. They left all the windows in the hall way 10 or them. For a month . I have to make payment every month and I don't have ant window or door installed. I call them all the time I called and complain to Home Depot hotline they said they were going to solve the problem and till this day nothing has been done. Please help me.
BELLE CHASSE, LOUISIANA -- I concur with all the other comments, I purchased about 2500 square feet of Thomasville flooring. This has to be the biggest mistake I have ever made!!! I have experienced all of the problems that I have read about in your complaint section. Home Depot should refund my money and pay for the installation of a new floor! Shame on Home Depot for carrying such an inferior product while charging a premium for it!!!!
Every time I look at that floor I feel like tearing up my Home Depot Corporate credit card!!!!
SETAUKET, NEW YORK -- I decided to go to the Setauket store because I was promised that I would find the tiles I was looking for. (Not true) Also the workers in the department seemed not to want to give help. I explained that I needed carpeting by the middle of the month. I tried to work with the different departments, the install, the store unit, the measurer. The all promised something not what I wanted and I didn't get the truth. I solved the problem by going to Empire Carpet I got the service in 24 hrs. and an appointment for the delivery with in 5 days I WAS PLEASED. The cost of business $1,600+ pleased again. I could have purchased the carpet from Home Depot on my Home Depot card.
I have gotten stellar service from the Independence plaza location. But this is the second time your workers have rendered terrible service by passing up a $35,000 sale I paid LOWE'S who did a lovely job and visitors to my home say my kitchen is beautiful.
The new policy of Home Depot is they advertise 10% military discount and forget to say that's only up to $20.00 on a purchase. Spend $1500.00 get $20.00 discount.

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK -- I rented a carpet cleaner from Home Depot to clean my area rug. It wasn't horribly dirty but needed a little TLC. I cleaned the rug in a few hours, and then waited overnight for it to fully dry. The next day my carpet literally smelled like cat pee and I don't even own a cat! This is horrible....I'm guessing that Home Depot never cleans their machines.
Beware of their carpet cleaners! If you have a rug that cost you a pretty penny...you may want to think about getting it professionally done.
