We bought it on Internet. The bearing mount was bad. We took it to Hamilton's on Harford Road in Baltimore for repair. It was returned to us without the nozzle control knob. I phoned Hoover's main office. They offered to have the. Missing part sent to us to install ourselves. I told them "NO". It is up to them to put it in. They said they will do so. We'll see. 2 Replies - Latest reply on 12/29/2012Add reply
4 month old vacuum told 3 days to fix its now 3 weeks and sent me a new one, not here yet sent it out 5 days ago, gonna be a month without vacuum, I have 2 year warranty, and they sent to wrong place. Seems they don't give darn, don't ever buy one from Shopko or any Hoover Whirlpool or Maytag, as the are all owned by same company. 1 Replies - Latest reply on 09/09/2012Add reply

Idiots to take a good company that put out an excellent product, everyone used Hoover product good hard working excellent product now pieces of crap not fit for anyone to use give me the old products strong, durable, if you purchased Hoover you know it was good. you failed yourself and the name of your own company.

Too Much Too Late With Hoover

Thinking it was a quality product I bought a Hoover; within 3 months the brush roller had broken loose from it's cheapo plastic guides. Since it has a THREE YEAR warranty I took it in to be fixed. Imagine my surprise: the roller brush is specifically excluded from the warranty! The repairman told me that since they moved to China (!) they don't honor their warranties any more. I'll NEVER buy a Hoover product again.4 Replies - Latest reply on 07/15/2010Add reply
Last month I posted a review on my new kitchen and how badly Whirlpool ignored me. I thought if I take the time to post complaints I should be willing to post compliments too.

I purchased the Hoover upright carpet cleaner because my husband brought home a puppy and I expected to need it.
The product did the job and I was happy wit it until the plastic canister that you fill with hot water started leaking. I went online and found a replacement part that cost me $80 bucks. I wasn't overjoyed but a least it could be fixed. Three months later I had to request a new replacement for the same part.
This is where the compliments come in: They sent me a new replacement part that was rebuilt and better than the first one. This replacement part was $30 and I have had it twice the time of the original part and its still working. Later, Hoover sent me a response asking how pleased we are with the part.
While I will not buy Whirlpool next time I need too I will buy Whirlpool knowing the are concerned about their customer.
Way to build customer loyalty.
I have bought & supported the Hoover vacuum products for over 30 years. However, I am ready to set my with my windtunnel upright vacuum out for trash pickup! It vacuums carpet well, but I use the attachments just as much as the floor appliance. This vacuum had to be designed by A MAN THAT HAS NEVER USED THIS APPLIANCE!!!!! The appliance hose is too rigid & far too short. Even with the slightest pull using the extending wands it will pull the whole vacuum cleaner over on the user!! I have had it hit me in the back while bending over; the calf, the shins, the ankles & I AM TIRED OF THE BRUISES!!! It is heavy & hits with a force. Next time I get ready to purchase a vacuum cleaner, I will check this function out personally & Will NOT purchase a Hoover!!!!! 2 Replies - Latest reply on 03/09/2010Add reply
We recently bought a Hoover Vacuum, UH70130. We didn't even get a chance to try it out before it picked up a yarn from a rug, wrapped around the beater brush and burned the belt in two. That was probably not a product defect.

What followed is ridiculous. I ordered a replacement belt from their web site and received a belt that didn't match the original. I managed to get it on, but now can't turn off the beater brush for the hardwood floor.
I called Hoover, several times, and have been told 1) I received the right belt but put it on incorrectly (the replacment belt is about 3" shorter than the original and made of a different material), 2) they've had several complaints on this and a manager would call back (never called back), 3) another manager would call back (never happened), 4) they have the right belt but can't ship it because they don't have my address, 5) managers don't take calls, 6) calls to managers have to wait on hold just like every other call, 7) you can't leave a message for a manager, 8)they have no record of any of my calls...you get the idea.
Bottom line, if you need a vacuum cleaner buy ANYTHING except a Hoover! Absolutely the worst customer service and support I have ever experienced...anywhere!

I spend more time putting the belt back on than I do vacuuming. No more Hoover products for me. Add reply
Do not buy, vacuum has excellent suction however after my one year warranty expired, the plastic junk began to break. First the handle broke which is attached with plastic rivets imagine trying to vacuum holding onto a pole. Second, also put together with plastic rivets, the container were you discharge the dirt the plastic rivets broke on that now I have to tape the lid so that the dirt does not fall on the floor.

But, I guess the fact that it was made in CHINA speaks for itself.
I purchased this vacuum less than a year ago. ( It has a one year warranty on it) The roller brush that spins became warped. I contacted Hoover for a replacement brush, their website said the brush was unavailable, but since it was under warranty to take it to the nearest Hoover authorized repair shop for warranty work. I did that, then I got a bill from the repair shop for 49 dollars, ( about half the new cost of the vacuum). I contacted Hoover, and got the run around, finally they bumped my call up to someone in the corporation office. They gave me the run around also.
So the bottom line is, whatever they say in the warranty, which is in their owners manual, is a false statement. I read the warranty back to the corporate executive and she just said, I can't control what a repair shop will charge.. I said well this is warranty work and your company referred me to this shop for repair, so your company should be liable for any cost, ( as it states in the warranty information, Parts and labor)
Needless to say, I'm never going to buy a Hoover product again, and neither should anyone else.
GEORGIA -- I bought a 279.00 Steam cleaner from Wal-mart it was a Hoover I always buy them I thought the more expensive one would be better since a year ago I've not been able to us it because firs the machine would not hold the fluid I contacted the co and then they sent me new holding tank. But this tank only worked for a few times. Then it started to leak also.
I am only here in GA for six months so not much time to use the scrubber. Well at firs they said it was a new machine with a few bugs and were really good at sending the part but as I am a senior I don't know how to get hold of the company again and the store says sorry I wish that they could get in touch with me as to how this machine is just a piece of junk. The cheaper machine they have is what I've used for years and love it but when you pay 125 dollars more you expect more not less I've had nothing but trouble with the new machine if some one can help me please let me know how to get in touch with Hoover to settle this problem.
I don't have money to burn or throw away on appliances that do not do as they say they will.
Purchase 3 year coverage and had to have repaired several times. And then it quit working and was informed my 3 year warranty had already paid all it would pay on machine and less than 2 years. Ask what to do about repair and was told to pay to have it repaired. NO WAY 1 Replies - Latest reply on 10/23/2008Add reply
ST PAUL, MINNESOTA -- I have owned this vacuum for 4 months. I use a strong rubber band to hold the main handle on because it consistently slides off. I took the small rotary attachment off because it falls off. Duct tape works well to keep both ends of the vacuum hose attached while in use - otherwise I generally discover that one end or the other has fallen off and I need to do the job all over again.

I like the retractable cord which has not fallen off.... yet.
PITTSBURGH, PENNSYLVANIA -- I too have had issues with the clean water reserve tank. First the handle pulled out of the tank and water was leaking from there now I'm have water leak from the bottom where the take fits into the steam cleaner. First Sears told me it was recalled then they said it wasn't then they said it was and to take it to the repair center so they could replace it.
