While attempting to purchase reset tokens online I got a message the request could not be processed yet in the end was charged for 3 reset packages. When I saw the extra reset token packages which I still could not use, I called and was told internet purchases are non refundable and it was my mistake even though their system told me I had NOT purchased the reset packages. If you don't absolutely have to go with this company, THEN STAY AWAY.!!!
I can assure you this company has no regard for its customers, has bad
customer service, bad service, slow speeds, and very high prices.
Try and cancel, and they will hit you with everything they got.
Even after talking with them personally on the phone, they still got my
request to suspend my service for winter, as I was not going to be there,
all wrong, and they still billed me during the suspension period, and still are.
The only way to escape this service is to cancel the card you use to pay
them, and get another.
They do not respond to their customers, don't care, and provide a BAD service.
Of all the service providers, of all services, I have EVER had, THIS ONE IS THE WORST>!!!
I signed up for Hughesnet because I was told there were no other providers in the area (except WildBlue - who gets their services from HN satellites and they were "maxed on Bandwidth, taking no new customers). ... read full review1 Replies - Latest reply on 10/09/2011
I have used Hughes Net for the past several years and have constantly complained about the download speed and capacity. I get charged for downloads over 50MB in one day. Microsoft updates alone are almost that big! They refer to the fairness policy which is a farce.
There is a solution for anyone who wants it: I have just purchased a Samsung SCW-LC11 mobile hot spot from Verizon. We are in a weak service area and with that in mind the service is leaps and bounds better than Hughes Net. The Wi-Fi service areas keep getting larger and soon will cover the entire country and then Hughes Net will no longer be able to over sell their bandwidth. I predict they will go out of business,,Yea! And the mobile hot spot is cheaper than Hughes Net. So I recommend anyone looking for a competing internet access, call Verizon and ask about mobile hot spots.
Slow as molasses, can't get an English speaker on the phone, just hard to understand foreigners in India? Website slow as hell and hard to navigate, won't let me log on, constantly left on hold, have not been able to resolve any of my problems since I ordered from these people.

Frustrated as hell, can't get promised rebates because instead of just sending them have to jump through hoops.
We live out in the country so our internet service options are limited. We can get dial up, Hughes or an air card.
Since the aircard limits you to 5 gigs, we opted to try Hughes. It was all just a ... read full review3 Replies - Latest reply on 09/15/2013

Got Hughes Net about a month ago, it has been a pain in the A--S from day one. every time we try to get on line we have to unplug every thing and start over again. or what is better yet we get to call India and talk to people we can barely understand. and they get it working for the day, but then when we want to get back on the next day we have the same crap!! why can't we talk to some one over here? I wish I knew all of this before I would have never signed up with these people. I am wondering does any one else have this problem? Add reply
In January of 2010 I had Hughes Net installed. my complaint is when a company from tennesse installed my dish to my house, they literally installed it 3feet off the ground, so I can't walk under it, I have to go around it. I told the installer I wasn't happy with how low it was, but at the time my home was under construction and the installer knew I was intending to relocate my box inside my home to the new addition, so he said when the installers come to relocate my box to have them move up my dish too. well today I had the installers come to relocate my box and my dish. they informed me that when a dish is installed it should always be at the minimum 5ft off the ground, mine was 3ft. and the other kicker is my house had to be rewired because the inital installers never grounded the cables. so in other words my satelitte dish was like a giant lightening rod! I had to pay for a reinstallation fee and when I called Hughes Net they hold no accountability for the goones that they subcontract out to install these dishes. I have a problem with paying for 2 installs, the first one should have been done right. I talked with the supervisor and I got no where! I would to file some sort of class action law suit against this company..how can they hold no accountability! this is something that they need to be held accountable for. what if my home would have caught fire from being struck by lightening! how many other homes have there subcontracted installers done this to!2 Replies - Latest reply on 11/02/2010Add reply
