Hydroderm Rip Off!! Don't Do It!
Posted by on
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- After trying this product I noticed my skin actually got worse! It dried my skin in the treated areas and worse yet I noticed wrinkles coming in. It's supposed to help wrinkles not cause them. I'm very surprised that this company is still in business today. Of course they drop one product once it gets bad reviews and come out with dermitage which is highly exaggerated!! They are both put out by the same company and both products are a rip off.

I suggest you do your research under each or both products names and you will find lots of complaints from consumers that were ripped off by this company. Where is customer service when you need them? Refund if not 100% satisfied..yeah right. I returned the unused portion of the Hydroderm as stated in their contract agreement within the 14 day trial period. Never got my money refunded and of course after calling several times they claimed they never received the returned portion. I then stated that I do have a return signature receipt that was signed by someone in the company. More run around as they then wanted me to send them a copy of the return receipt. Followed up on it and still nothing. I then decided to contact my credit card company and let them handle it. I faxed a copy of the return receipt to the credit card company and they credited me the full amount on my credit card. But, not sure if my credit card company ever got their money back from this rip off artists.

Note: If you've been a victim of this company file a report here and also at www.rippoffreport.com. Contact your credit card company immediately to cancel any future charges and to claim a refund. Even if you happen to like the product but only want one month supply, I suggest you contact both companies to cancel. This way you cover yourself on both ends.

Unfortunately I had the same bad experience like yours. Finally I was able to obtain the physical address, Hydrodurm Return Dept. 15260 Ventura Blvd, Ste 1710, Sherman Oaks, CA 91403. I think the company we all ordered from is a scam company using the real Hydroderm Co. look-alike website. I amcomplained to BBB and also to my CC company to stop the payment because is under dispute. I hope the issue will be resolved and I will have my money refunded. I would never purchase anything like that without detailed researching or through perhaps reputable company like Amazon.com. Very frustrated!!!

Fraudulent C.C. Charges & Horrible Customer Service Attitudes
Posted by on
WWW.HYDRODERM.COM -- My wife wanted a sample from Hydroderm, I guess it's some skin lotion or something. Anyway, they wanted a couple bucks for the shipping and yada yada so I let her put it on one of the credit cards for my company.

Well, the product arrived and she wasn't impressed with the quality or claims from Hydroderm so she called their customer service and told them not to put her on the monthly supply mailing or whatever and they gave her a cancellation number. She mentioned that the lady had been very short and snotty to her. I said, well, shes probably just was having a bad day.

Needless to say, 4 weeks or so later I notice a $61.00 charge from Hydroderm on my credit card. No products received, no authorization for the charge, nothing!! My wife called to find out what was going on and was treated with quite a bit of hostility. The customer service person informed her that unless you specifically request them not to. My wife explained that she had done so and had a cancellation number. The person told her that wasn't a valid number and that she would issue her a new number. Well, the charge still has not been reversed and when she called again to complain the person she spoke with told her the cancellation number was issued after the charges to my C.C.!!!!!! She explained that they told her she needed a new number and the lady called her a liar. All of these contacts with them have resulted in my wife being very upset afterwords at the attitude and insinuations from these customer service reps.

Anyway, the charge is still on my card 11 days later, she still has received no products, I phoned Hydroderm's customer service number today to try to get some answers. Some rude crass person named Porsche answer, told me basically that it was not her concern, refused to provide me with a manager's contact info and hung up on me in mid-sentence. Very condescending and smug. I cannot believe the way she spoke to me.

I have filed Fraud Claim with my Credit Card company and I am considering filing with the FBI and FTC as well.

Even if it was legitimate they should have only charged her $45 anyway and they charged $61

These people should be shut down

I completely agree with everything this man has written. Customer service at Hydroderm is horrendous! I ordered the lip-plumper free sample offer. I failed to see the .00050" disclaimer link at the bottom of the page which redirects you to pages and pages of disclaimers. As a result of missing this obviously disguised link, I was billed $70 since I failed to see that the free-sample offer was in fact a 30 day trail which at the end Hydroderm would bill your card if you didn't return the product.

The product had the smell and consistency of junior high lip-gloss, and didn't work at all.

Hydroderm refused to reimburse me until I demanded a manager and said I was filing with the Better Business Bureau. Then I received credit. It was like pulling teeth.

With my credit, I purchased 2 bottles of Hydroderm - better than botox wrinkle reducer. I only used it on one side of my face to see if it worked. I used it twice a day, after 2 weeks - nothing. No difference. So I began using it 3 times a day. Nothing. It has been 3 months, and the supply is finally gone, and there is still no difference in my nasal labial folds, my marionette lines, or my brow and eye lines. This company should be shut down. What a joke.
sucker in canada on 06/16/2008:
I agree with you also. Their product is rubbish. After returning it I received no reimbursement to my credit card either. Now they have opened a franchise in Canada. This fraudulent company should be taken to court and made to pay for all the money they have stolen. They probably are collecting a million a day from us suckers. Much more easier than robbing banks, wouldn't you agree? Why are they still on the loose deceiving the public.
Elenova on 01/17/2014:
I had absolutely the same experience. I called to cancel my future orders after I received the eye and face cream today. I explained to the customer service lady that if I like it I will order it later on on my terms. She gave me at first 25% discount than 50% discount and I refused. She told me I need to return the product if I don't want my credit card to be charged. After arguing for some time what a free trial means she gave me the return address and a cancellation number.
After reading all the similar complaints on this site I am not sure there will be no charge on my credit card next month. I wish I have read all the complaints before I placed the order. Hydroderm and their FREE TRIAL is an absolute scam. Please keep us posted with the complaint u have filed

Lousy Customer Service
Posted by on
CULVER CITY, CALIFORNIA -- This company by far has the lousiest customer service ever. They don't even have an email on their webpage because I am sure they don't want complaint emails! I had returned my 2nd bottle of their product and ups tracking shows it was received by them on 9.29.08 - I called a few weeks after and then 5 times after that checking on my credit. Each time I called I was promised a callback and a credit. Fast forward to 2 months and I have not gotten a phone call or a credit. And each time I called and had to endure the most awful hold music and a message in between letting me know I was "caller # whatever on the queue", every representative I talked to said they did not have an answer. Does anyone there have an answer??

This is such a big ripoff and the most god-awful customer service I have had to encounter. does anyone out there know who I can call about this??

NEW YORK -- I have been taken by this company and when trying to reach them by their 800# you wait 20-30 mins. -- Then they put you on hold I have told them to STOP taking money from my account I only ordered the sample and it does not work and do not Want this product and they have not yet stopped taking from my account and it has been 2 months: The amounts are inconsistent and hard to track except when you have no money and they are creating bigger problems.

They do not respond to the calls-- then when confronted their computer system conveniently goes down and they tell you to call back in 20 business days
THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER come across and they are A CON and the money just continues to be taken I have filed a complaint with my bank and refused them access -- and now I am calling the ATTORNEY GENERAL as they have once again ignored the telephone calls and their system continues at this time to be broken:
ANY ONE WHO READS THIS PLEASE LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY IT IS NOT RELIABLE & has PROVEN TO be more fraudulent -- THERE is no quick fix from this ointment/lotion!!!

IF it sounds to good to be true it is!

Hydroderm Is A Rip Off

Do not believe what you hear. First they sucker you in and give you a 30 day free trial and then when you cancel within the 30 days you have to pay the postage to return the unused portion plus you better send it certified because they are still going to sign you up on the automatic ship program and deduct $84.00 from your credit or debit card. When you call they have a recording that always says there system is down and you need to call back on Monday. This is not matter what day it is.

Don't get hooked but if you already have - REPORT them to your Better Business Bureau.

When are people going to stop giving out their credit or debit card numbers in an effort to get something they think is free?
Anonymous on 10/16/2008:
Always remember; P.T. Barnam said it first!
Anonymous on 10/16/2008:
1. There is no such thing as a "wrinkle reducing cream."
2. There are good moisturizers that help fade the look of wrinkles.
3. The advertisements for this product show a 65 year old being transformed into a 25 year old, so there might have been a clue this stuff is junk.
4. It's free, yet they charge postage-therefore, it is not free.
5. You can get free samples of skin creams at Macy's or other big department stores.
6. ANY product like this take about 4-6 weeks to really demonstrate difference. I used the Lancome Collegen cream before I noticed my fine lines are less noticeable-It took about four weeks. It's pretty good. NOTHING, not even a doctor, can give you the results these people promise.
old fart on 10/16/2008:
The only wrinkle reducer is a heck of a lot of water and I mean lots! of it...
Anonymous on 10/16/2008:
One more thing, the BBB does't find this to be an accredited company and theres a lot of info given about common complaints regarding their return policy.

The ads for this product show a wrinkly old broad bring turned 25 again by this magic product. If it sounds too good to be true, it is. It doesn't surprise me they ripped you off. Get Paula Begoun's book, Don't Go To the Make-Up Counter Without Me, and get an education about the stuff you'd like to work as promised. :)

Hydroderm Free Trial Return Policy
Posted by on

Hydroderm Free Trial is VERY MISLEADING!

They said that it's a free trial. I got a very small container of eye cream. Less than a month, I called to cancel it, and they said that I need to ship the remaining amount or else I'll be charge 40 some dollars.

When did a person need to return a sample or else you'll be charge at least $40.

All the answers to your quandary are contained in the fine print you agreed to when you signed up for the "free trial" and willingly provided either your bank or credit card number.
Anonymous on 05/06/2008:
You failed to read the terms and conditions of the trial offer. At the bottom of the page is a link RETURN POLICY. After 30 days you either have to return it or pay for it.
How they get away with it are the words 'Free 30 day trial'. People see "Free" and think no cost.
Suusan B. on 05/06/2008:
Correct you are, PassingBy. What I don't understand is that people are so willing to give out financial information in exchange for something they think is "free". If it is truly free, then why does the company require a credit or debit card number??
Anonymous on 05/06/2008:
Nothing free requires your credit card number.
tnchuck100 on 05/06/2008:
Here is the part you missed:

If you are unsatisfied with the product, you may return the unused portion 30 days from the shipped date and you will not be billed for the order. Please note the following terms:

If you wish to return your order, please obtain a Return Merchandize Authorization (RMA) number first.

Terms & Conditions: Start your trial now to receive a full two-month supply of Hydroderm Eye Serum (retails for $60.00). You’ll have until Jun 05, 2008 to evaluate the product and see the results for yourself. If you enjoy this formula, simply do nothing. You will be billed the super low price of $47.00 at the end of your 30-day trial period…a 22% savings! If, for ANY reason, you decide that Hydroderm Eye Serum is not for you, simply call (800) 840-5576 by Jun 05, 2008 and return the unused portion. You will NEVER be billed. Plus, when you accept this trial, you will also receive a FREE membership in the Hydroderm VIP program. That means that you’ll continue to get a fresh two-month supply of Hydroderm Eye Serum every 50 days for the low price of $47.00 (+ $6.95 shipping)... a 22% discount! No commitments, no hassles. Cancel anytime.
Anonymous on 05/06/2008:
Also consider they charge $5.95 to ship a 10ml (.34oz) bottle of the eye serum. That's how they get credit card numbers.
Anonymous on 05/06/2008:
Spot on PassingBy, which is all they really want anyway as a lot of these free deals have an autoship also hidden in the agreement.
Suusan B. on 05/06/2008:
To repeat what I said before - - for the life of me I'll never understand why people are so willing to give a company they have never heard of their credit or debit card number to get something they think will be "free". And then when the company charges them according to the terms and conditions of the offer they didn't take time to read, they scream "scam" and threaten to report the company to the BBB - - and suggest a class action lawsuit.
CC on 06/05/2013:
Other companies, such as "Equinox" also offered a "free trial," and when I canceled with them I received no more charges than the initial $5.95 that I paid for shipping that "free trial."

"Suusan B." needs to stop blaming the victim. This is a classic bait and switch, and it will be interesting to see what the AG finds out as to what they are doing with the used products that are shipped back.
Penelope on 03/06/2014:
I called to cancel because I was allergic to the product. I got an itchy rash. Now get this, the person I talk to tells me a lot of people have this problem to begin with. "It's the product getting the toxins out of your skin." What on earth?? The woman tries to get me to keep using this product. I am like no, I had to go to the dermatologist to get relief, as it was awful. Then the woman asks if there is anyone I can transfer my used product to for 50% off. Seriously, I was speechless. I am quite certain and know that I would NOT want to use something that another person had already used. This scared me because it really makes me wonder what they do with all the returns.

This was the most ridicules “free trial” ever!!! Not only that I didn’t like the product, but they charge you $50+ to try their product for free! You can’t get refund although you cancel the subscription. It’s clear how the company makes money. Total fraud!!! Don’t buy any of their products!!!

False, Deceptive Advertising

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- FREE TRIAL OFFER JUST PAY SHIPPING -- 30 DAYS SUPPLY What was unsaid was if you don't send the unused portion back or cancel within 30 days- you will be charged for the FREE TRIAL OFFER. This is deceptive advertising.

I cancelled my order 3 days after purchase when I found out my bank would be charged the amount of the product that was to be FREE.

You must not have read the fine print. I also wanted to try this product but I did read the "fine print" and it does say that it must be returned after 30 days, or you will be billed for it plus they will bill you every month. Forget about the fancy schmantzy stuff, drink lots of water, eat lots of fruit and apply a regular moisture product twice a day.
Suusan B. on 03/21/2008:
I just went to the Hydroderm website and it's very clear - - if you read the terms and conditions of the offer - - you pay shipping and handling to try the product free for 30 days and if you don't cancel within 30 days the credit card (or debit card) you provided when you placed the order will be charged $49.95. This is not false or deceptive advertising - - this is a matter that you didn't read the "fine print" before giving this company your credit card number. The website very clearly says that you will be trying the product free for 30 days - - not that the product was free. On top of that, when accepting the offer you are also agreeing to have them automatically ship and charge you for the product every 60 days. It is your responsibility, as the consumer, to understand what you are ordering and ask questions first - - not complain later.
Principissa on 03/21/2008:
Suusan you beat me to it. I did the same exact thing you did.
Aerocave on 03/22/2008:
You always, always, always have to read the fine print. To me, Hydroderm did a good job of marketing this product. They got you to order it.
