Defective printer cartridge (sold as "Genuine" cartridge) - no refund!

CHATSWORTH, CALIFORNIA -- I purchased a $27.19 "New Genuine Lexmark #36XL Black 18c2170 36xl" from InksJetsWorld on 5/3/12. Although it says it is a genuine Lexmark cartridge, my Lexmark X6675 printer will not accept it and says "cartridge error" and tells me the cartridge is not compatible with my printer. The cartridge looks identical to the one I bought at OfficeMax, except the code numbers on the back of the cartridge are different -- Office Max code says P10 (which worked fine) and InkJetsWorld cartridge says P2
(which does not work). I bought this replacement cartridge to have on hand for the next time I run out of ink (I work from home and have to have a spare on hand). Here is the response I received from InkJetsWorld when I asked how to return a defective cartridge for a refund:

Thank you for your email! We will not be able to help you because your order is older than 90 days. In the future, we suggest to buy ink according to your needs.

DON'T ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY - THEY ARE FALSELY ADVERTISING GENUINE CARTRIDGES.

It is possible it's just a defective cartridge. Lexmark has a one year warranty on them as you can see here
http://www1.lexmark.com/en_US/support-downloads/warranty-information/supplies/products-covered.shtml

I can't fault Inkjetworld too much, a 90 day return policy is actually pretty generous.

I agree with the first reply - a 90 day return policy is pretty generous. I also am of the mind to buy ahead and not worry about running out, but what happened to you is why I don't.

The inkjetworld website looks pretty rudimentary to me, if I was on the right one. I wouldn't order from it, but that is just my .02.

There's a great check and balance when you purchase through Ebay sellers. Many do sell remanufactured OEM or expired original cartridges which do work. If any are defective, the threat of a negative rating almost ensures quick exchange. Can't speak for InksJetsWorld, though.

The same this happened to me with "new Genuine Epson Printer Ink" from InkJetsWorld.
After several emails they agreed to refund my money if I posted all the cartridges back to them. The denied ever receiving them and now will not respond to my emails or eBay customer supply.
Please lodge a complaint with eBay customer service if the same thing has happened to you, even if more than 90 days.
Also file a complaint with http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx.
THIS EBAY STORE DOES NOT PROVIDE 100% SATISFACTION AS THEY ADVERT AND INNOCENT PEOPLE NEED TO BE PROTECTED FROM THEM
