ORLANDO, FLORIDA -- I bought an item with a JCPenney credit card. Even though I paid in plenty of time, I was charged a $25.00 late fee. I have read on the internet that many people are being charged fraudulent late fees. I wrote a letter within 60 days about the error, but the letter was ignored. I tried to call, but no live person answers the phone. I of course canceled my account immediately.
Right before filing a complaint with the federal government, I managed to get through to Amy in Fraud Protection Department, who said she would forward me to someone else. I then spoke to Macy, who says the automated phone system only works if the customer says "agent" or "representative." She said that there are no instructions to say this on the statement on in the recording, so that any customer not guessing this would not be able to contact JCPenney. The lack of response by JCPenney makes it pretty much impossible for someone to report or do anything about fraudulent charges on their bill.
NEW PHILADELPHIA, OHIO -- I was surprised to find this string of complaints. I thought I was the only one who was unhappy that JC Penney had dropped this brand. I complained at the office of my local store but got nowhere. The only time I go to the store now is to see if by some miracle they have restocked Cabin Creek. Corporate managers are clueless when it comes to what real customers want. I worked in retail once and saw it all the time.
Somebody at corporate office would get a brainstorm because they have to justify their jobs and the poor "associates" at the bottom level have to listen to the customers' complaints. But nobody higher up will ever admit they made a mistake.

COLUMBIA, TENNESSEE -- The manager is abrasive and rude and I am a few of the ladies I know who go have been talking about no returning, all due to her. She is constantly hovering over the stylist and then saying things about how they do our hair in a small room but we hear her. I love my hair and my stylist is a sweet young lady. But she is always picking them apart and it is senseless. I have told my stylist to go else where and I will follow. Please find a new manager that don't think everyone is stupid. Its the only problem that salon has.
I love my stylist her name is Rachael. She does excellent hair cuts every time and her personality is one you don't find often a sweet country accent to add to it. She is a true asset to Jcpenney! Keep her around!
TOMS RIVER, NEW JERSEY -- Bought a sofa and chair from JC Penney. Was told by the sales person that the sofa was "all leather" but that the chair was only leather on portions that touched the body. Being that the furniture was "leather" she suggested I purchase a warranty to cover damage/stains etc. Thought it was a good idea so went ahead and bought it too. Recently, noticed a cracking in the underside of sofa cushion. Pulled out warranty and filed a claim which included pictures.
Claim representative came to the house and notified me that the sofa was not "all" leather but the same as the chair. Got an e-mail notification from warranty company that the claim was denied. I was misled on the sofa composition and sold a warranty that really is ineffectual for the product. Had I known the sofa was not all leather I would not have purchased!

I ordered a pair of ladies shoes, at the store because they didn't have my size. I was told they were backordered and it would be a few weeks. That time went by and I didn't hear anything, so I called the catalog number. I was told my order had been cancelled because they didn't know when they would have the shoes again. I should have been notified! They had my e-mail and phone number. Add reply
I am utterly flabbergasted to find out that JC Penney has discontinued their Cabin Creek line of jeans., I loved Cabin Creek clothing. There is no need for me to even shop online or in the store. Add reply

PLANTATION, FLORIDA -- I am so disappointed in the changes JC Penney has made to my beloved store. I have been a regular shopper at JC Penney for 30+ years and I just can't believe they discontinued my Cabin Creek pants. For the first time I didn't go there for any Christmas shopping. I used to buy all my gifts and all of my family's clothing and home goods. The store was so busy before the changes were made, now it's empty.
