BEACONSFIELD, QUEBEC -- August 8,2003 I wrote a check for 3 pair of slippers I have yet to receive. I don't think it's right for a company to take your money and give you nothing in return. I'm very disappointed.
I've been ordering through mail for years and nothing like this has ever happened before. From now on I will only deal with companies I've dealt
within the pass.

On August 4, 2003 I wrote a check for 2 pairs of slippers, my check has been cashed and I have not received the slippers. No notice, refund or anything from JD Marvel. I smell RIP-OFF

I think companies who do not send merchandise that was ordered and paid for should be prosecuted and made to refund our money. I sent for 2 pair of slippers that was advertised in the Parade Magazine, my check was cashed, and no merchandise. That was 2 months ago. Why doesn't Parade Magazine check to make sure their advertisers are reputable before accepting their ad.

I ordered two pair of slippers and my check was cashed on July 21, 2003. As yet nothing has arrived. I am on afixed income and this was a big part of my food budget.

Another JD Marvel victim

OREGON CITY, OREGON -- I too foolishly purchased products from JD Marvel in response to an ad in our Sunday paper. They cashed my check back in June, 2003 and as of today, 9/1/2003 I have heard nothing. I purchased these items hoping to give them to my wife for her birthday but that date has come and gone. Maybe I'll get something for Christmas!

Unfortunately, most of you reading this will have already fallen victim to the company. Too bad we can't place an ad in the paper next to theirs!

Fortunately I am only out $12.90. It could be worse.

I sent a check for $10.90 for slippers last June. The check has been cashed and the slippers have not appeared. How do these people sleep at night?

I Purchased 3 pair of house shoes from the Marvel back on June 17/2003 I called at the end of June (as these wer for a Birthday gift I was promised that they would be shipped at the end of July that they had not received their shipment from their supplier. July came and went, I called again in Mid August they gave the same lame excuse by the same Nasty Woman, (and when I got my phone bill the phone # is in Montreal Canada. I had a fight with her and told her to send my money back .. She said the only do refunds at the end of the month.... We will seen .. I fully intend to contact the Postmaster General and The Better Business Bureau in Champlain N.Y. Hopefully the rest of you will also... I think they are FRAUDS... It took only 4 days after my check reached them for it to be cashed..... thanks

Non Delivery of Product

TOMS RIVER, NEW JERSEY -- This company specializes in ripping people off. They cashed my check in May for the purchase of two pairs of slippers. I called them twice about this order. Each time they said it would be mailed out at the end of the month. It is now August 24, 2003 and nothing.(Last time I called was in July).Judging from the other complaint letters this is a pattern that this company follows. I have complained to the FTC but no response from them either,(about 6 weeks now).
They(the FTC) doesn't do to much when the loss amounts are small and J.D. Marvel knows this and laughs at them. What this company needs is a class action suit. Are there any lawyers out there willing to take them on?

Check Cashed but NO merchandise received

I am helping my mom out. She has ordered some items from JD Marvel. She ordered these items in January and the check was cashed in January. She has called numerous time to receive her merchandise and they keep telling her the same thing, "they will be sent out and she will have them within 12 business days"......well here it is August. So I called the other day and got the same answer. I work for the State of Iowa and will NOT hesitate to turn this into our AG Tom Miller. I was wondering if there was other Iowans out there that has had this problem. I have gone to numerous websites and read MANY complaints about J D Marvel cashing the check but NOT sending out the merchandise. Well its time for something to be done with this company. Thank you for getting back to me.

My mom ordered my kids two clocks from JD Marvel company in March. It is now the middle of July and still no clocks, but they cashed the check!

Likewise, I ordered this clock. I did not receive the product. My Check was cashed months ago. I have repeatedly asked for a refund. I did get several excuses such as, "we changed banks, and the new checks haven't been printed yet", or "your refund was not entered in time this month for payment". I still have not received my refund. At what point does retailing like this become mail fraud???

My mother in law also ordered the cuckoo clock and has not received it. She mailed a money order to JD Marvel in May 21, 2003. We cannot reach them for ANY info. They, however sent a postcard saying "...shipment is delayed, but will ship on 08/22/03...we have also changed "fulfillment operations as to serve you better in the future..."..still nothing and today is 8/28/03. How does fraud like this stay in business???

HARMONY, MINNESOTA -- I ordered vining strawberries from this company on 4-21-03. As of today 6-11-03 I have not received my order. I have made several attempts to contact this company by phone and no one ever answers. This can't be happening in America. Why hasn't this company been shut down?

I ORDERED BY MAIL AND WITH A CHECK ENCLOSED, A GERMAN CUCKOO CLOCK AND NEVER RECEIVED IT. I CANNOT FIND A PHONE NUMBER TO JD MARVEL NOR CAN THE OPERATORS. I WANT MY CLOCK OR MY MONEY BACK AND I THINK IT HIGH TIME THE GOVERNMENT GETS AFTER THESE RIP OFF COMPANIES.

RIP-OFF BY J.D. MARVEL PRODUCTS

VANCOUVER, BC, CANADA -- Around March 2002, I ordered several items from J.D. Marvel through their web site totaling to 147.31. After several weeks of wondering where my order is, I went back to their website to contact them. At this point, their website does not exist anymore, and written complaints from different internet customers have been posted on the net. I did not worry too much about it because my Visa card was not charged, anyway but to my amazement, they charged the amount to my card on May 23, which is 3 months later. Up to this time, I have not received anything from this company.

Companies, such as J.D. Marvel must not be permitted to do business, especially on the internet. If they are accessing credit card numbers of consumers without any respect whatsoever, it should be restricted from any kind of business, and be banned by the Better Business Bureau. Better yet, their President should be held liable to all of their scums. It would be nice to see the President interviewed in 60 minutes, won't you agree?

Where's my bras??????????????

LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY -- My Aunt has purchased from you before and received her merchandise, however my c.c. was approved on Feb. 28, 2002 and it is now April 7, and I have yet to see my bras. Don't let me down like the others. I have faith in you. and these bras I have purchased are because my aunt had purchased two for me a while back and I love them. You should keep your word to be true with an order.

I would like my bras and if not received or a response by April 30, 2002 I will cancel the Credit card. That will be 9 weeks, plenty of time to receive product.

I boughted all kind of bras from these people on the phone and I never gotted any of my bras either. Do you have the same mailman as I do? He comes peekin in the window with bras hangin outen his mailbag I see him every day like this!

Refund of $ for products that were not received

C -- I work for the Department of Justice in New Brunswick, Canada, and I have received a complaint from an elderly lady who sent a cheque (which was cashed) but has never received her product. I have reported this to the Consumer Protection bureaus in Ontario and Quebec, but I am looking to get a refund for this lady by contacting the CEO.

Please provide any information on how a consumer can either obtain the goods they've paid for, or get their money back.

I want the consumer to get a refund

I am writing to you to request delivery of my order on Oct. 13, 2001. On this date I ordered one pair of Chocolate Brown slippers from your company. I still have not received my order. I am aware of your legal troubles from other clients and also of your lawsuit with the state of Wisconsin. I am an attorney praticing in the city of Los Angeles and will be taking legal actions myself if I do not receive my order within 4 weeks. I will also contact the Better Business Bureau and report your company if my order is not received in 4 weeks. To forgo any further legal suits filed against JD Marvel Products Inc. Please abide with my request and send my merchandise immediately
