Don't buy a Jeep Compass
Posted by Seashel on 09/08/2010
WA, WASHINGTON -- In 2006 I bought a brand new Jeep Compass. I drove it off the light, not knowing a light was a engine light problem, it took the dealership 7 months to figure out how to turn the engine light off. then approximately one year after I bought it the right ball joint went out. I took it back in and they fixed it. It was under warranty. Then 43000 miles later and 3 years later the left ball joint goes out, but it is no longer under warranty. Because it was unsafe and not under warranty, I took it to a frame and axle place by my house.

I then called Jeep corporate to ask if they would reimburse me and stand behind their product because a ball joint should not be going out in a pretty new vehicle. They refused to reimburse me.

are you seriously suprised they wouldnt reimbursed you? Companies dont care about customer loyalty any more. All they care about is the least amount of money to spend.

RV Towing

Do not buy this vehicle for towing behind your RV! I have towed a '97 wrangler and a '98 cherokee without problems. This compass will drain your battery in a short amount of time.

The Compass and Patriot are a disgrace to the Jeep brandname. The Jeep Cherokee (I currently drive for 20 years now) is a mighty rock crawler!

MRM Whats so good about a GMC?

Nothing to boast about GMC, except the fact that the 2010 Terrain has 32MPG, nice body style, and I was looking for something different.

Yes, I'll keep that leasing option in mind.
