ROHNERT PARK, CALIFORNIA -- I've just had one of the most unpleasant experiences of my life at Jennifer Convertibles! I went in to look at sofa beds. The sales person was talking about "sofas" and "beds" and "upgrades" and I simply did not understand what she was talking about or what the total price of what I wanted was. She became increasingly agitated and then in response to my continued questions she started saying things like, "I don't know how I can make it much clearer," "I give up!" We wound up in a shouting match (this is 100% against my personality as I am NOT a confrontational person) with me telling her I was the customer who had come in to buy a sofa bed and she was making me feel very stupid and I was positively stunned when she told me to "get out of her store!" I was so furious and came home to write to their headquarters to complain about this woman and could not find a phone number on their website or an email address. Then I googled Jennifer Convertibles headquarters, and came up with hundreds of wonderful negative feedbacks from people. Thank you everyone! Thank you miserable, rude manager at the Rohnert Park, CA Jennifer Convertibles store. You saved me from buying a cheap, inferior bed! You saved me from probably never getting the bed I purchased delivered! I'm so thankful to all who took the time to write about their terrible experiences.Add reply
PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA -- I went to Jennifer Convertibles on City Line Ave on Friday the 22nd of January, the doors were locked and there wasn't a sign in the window saying they will be back, (I was there at 7pm) although the sigh in the window said hours of operation were 10am-9pm, so I left. I went back on the 23rd(the next day)and at 10:45am the doors were still locked, although there were two people in the back of the store talking. After trying to get their attention for about 5 minutes, a lady finally opened the door. I asked her what time they closed the previous night, she said 9pm. I told her that I was there at 7pm, and the doors were locked and there wasn't a note, her and the guy that was in there just looked at each other and smiled, and she said she didn't know what happened. I left, obviously they didn't need my business. I went to Moorestown NJ Tracey helped me out a lot.
Not only did I buy furniture, but my sister went there and brought furniture, and now my mom is going there. Thanks Tracey. I will not go back to City Line Ave, since they obviously made their quota for the year.
One 12/17/05 I purchase a Wrigley Queen Sleeper. It was delivered on 2/23/06. The leather started to show signs of wear sometime in 2006 so I requested an in home inspection by a technician. On 8/14/06 I received a letter saying wear and tear was not covered. However since then the brown leather is peeling off the cushions. I feel that the leather on this sofa is defective. My husband and I both work and we have no children living in our home. So we don't sit on it all that much. The price was $799 which isn't cheap.

MIAMI, FLORIDA -- Don't ever buy a sofabed in Jennifer Convertibles. I bought one, less than 2 months ago, and when you sleep on the bed, you can feel the coils sticking in your body. I called them to return it, and they say there is no policy.
The mattress even has a whole in the middle, which makes you have to sleep in the middle of the mattress with your body being pushed to the center of the bed.
Really bad quality, and there solution, is upgrade to a $300 mattress, when the sofa itself cost $400. It's ridiculous.
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA -- I bought the sofa bed from Jennifer Convertibles. When I was buying it I picked the same color as the floor model. Lady salesperson said they have it in stock, exactly the color I want.

When I received the sofa it is appeared to be wrong color. Instead of brown it came white. I called the store and they told me that the couch I bought available just in one color and I could do nothing about it. I can not return the sofa because the model was on sale.
I will never buy anything from this company again.
BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS -- Why on earth do I ( and many others) have to do this? We paid Jennifer Convertibles $1969 on July 25 (which they immediately, of course, put through on our credit card) for two chairs and two footstools on July 25, 06. After two attempts to deliver them to their Portsmouth store from their "regional" Boston store, both times the pieces were damaged. We cancelled the order with their "regional manager" in Portsmouth on 10/1/06, who wrote on our original order in clear, black ink that the order was cancelled and that we would receive a full refund within 7-10 days. It has been two months of phone calls and emails (all on my part, they have never called back and sent the exact same response email 3 times) with the complete and full stall. This is criminal. We are now forced to go to court to force these shysters to pay what they promised two months ago. Why do I have to do this?1 Replies - Latest reply on 11/27/2006Add reply

I bought a sofa set on August 7th 2011 at Jennifer convertibles. They told me I can expect the set in 4 to 6 weeks time. It's 8 weeks and there us no news about the sofa. I am very disappointed with the service. You can find better sofa sets at other places.

Please look around - don't buy at jennifers, you will repent it like I am. They won't even let you cancel the order otherwise you will loose 30% of the bill.
I will never go back there.
We purchased a sofa bed that was 'supposed' to be much more comfortable with the upgraded mattress, and no metal bar in the person's back when sleeping. The problem was that the 'upgraded' mattress smelled so bad when it was unwrapped that it had to be put outside to air out. The bed was so uncomfortable when someone tried to sleep on it that we could not use it. Even though it was never slept on, we could not take it back for a refund. We paid about $1,000, and ended up selling it for $300. Unbelievable back and forth with N. Y. - for nothing. I would not recommend this company to anyone. No wonder they went bankrupt before.
