I've worked at a KFC in a very small town in Canada for over a year now. After reading some of the reviews on this website, I decided to write my own complaint.

Let me start by saying that the KFC I work at is very clean, as fast as possible, and almost always friendly. I'm 19 years old, saving money for college. And I actually like my job, however the worst part of it is the customers.

The customers are VERY rude. I don't know how they were brought up as children, but they seem to think that it's alright to act superior to me because I work in food service. I definitely do not look 19.. I've been told that I look 14 even. So middle aged people are coming in, making themselves fatter, and trying to make themselves feel better by ridiculing a "14 year old."

The men who come in urinate all over the toilet seat, and don't flush the toilets. Customers leave garbage on the tables, talk on their cellphones while ordering, let their children climb all over the tables. It's really quite tiring. I had one customer who called me to make a delivery order, and ended up calling me a dumba$$ because I told her that 1. We don't do delivery and 2. Our store was 45 minutes away.

The truth is, some people go to fast food restaurant's and take out their frustrations on them. I bet half the reviews on this website written about poor customer service failed to mention that they were rude first with the employee. And if that's the case, hopefully the next time you'll think twice about making someone else feel miserable.

And about not having chicken ready...
At the store I work at, after 7pm we cook to order, because chicken is expensive and we can't keep cooking and expecting people to come in. If the chicken is thrown out, it's money lost. Also, it takes 16 minutes to cook the chicken. Add 4 minutes for breading, and that's why it takes 20 minutes to cook.

Very helpful. It seems food service workers are the lowest on the totem pole, and everyone thinks they are better than them. It's a shame really, everyone has to start somewhere.

It doesn't matter what you line of business is, customers and employees should treat the other as they want to be treated. A lot of us here have worked in either retail or food service and none of us would want to be treated rudely.

As far as not having chicken ready, anyone coming to order should be glad that after a certain hour it is made to order. Who the heck wants to eat rubber chicken that has been sitting under a lamp? Twenty minutes is still faster than we could probably make it at home.

I feel that everyone's first job should either be in retail or the food service. Why? So, people would know what kinds of crap they have to put up with. They get paid so little to put up with a lot of crap. Maybe then, consumers would be a little nicer to those that work in industries like that because they have at one time or another.

I worked a lot of fast food jobs during college so I have complete sympathy for any kind of food service worker. Sometimes it seems like they just can't win; if the food has to be cooked to order they get yelled at because it's taking too long and if they get food that's been sitting under heat lamps or in a warmer they get yelled at because it's stale.

and it showcases what I've said a lot.... many people look at employees that are "providing a service" and act like the employee "only exists to service me!!" etc.

like they're lords and ladies who have to do their best to remind the servants to stay in their place etc.

I agree-great post! Whether you are a brain surgeon or a girl who works the counter at the fast food establishment you should be treated with respect. I think there's no reason why a customer shouldn't say please, thank you, have a nice day! I always do and always will.

I can't stand being in line behind someone who is berating the people that work there. Really, at least they are working and not on pubic assistance. Most of the kids I see working FF are college students working to save money for books, tuition, and rental expenses or high school students saving up for their first car.

Great post. When I worked in fast food, the work itself wasn't so bad, it was dealing with the awful customers that made it such a terrible job. Some people should be ashamed of how they act in places like that.

Had a customer in the drive through yesterday, she ordered 10 hot wings, and a medium drink. I told her the price and that we'd take good care of her. When she got to the window I repeated the price and she gave me a nasty look, then said, "No thanks I'll go to Wendy's".
So a wasted soda that I had made, and a waste of time for the packer who already had the order made. I hope that lady choked on her Wendy's.

Because most of our customers are ignorant. They want their food and don't bother looking at the price. But you're right, this lady was REALLY dumb, I told her the price and asked her to pull up to the window. When she got to the window she freaked out about the price. Of course she was talking on her cell phone at the time.
I guess some people are too involved in talking or texting on their phones that they don't pay attention, makes you wonder how they drive. lol

Ashley: So true, and I definitely second the "get an education" so you can get a job you love. ProC: I wonder if the idea is that people will treat you as they feel they deserve to be treated, so I now know how many people were beaten or emotionally abused as children. Me - I learned a lot of passive-aggressive techniques.

I co-managed a KFC a loooong time ago - it was a great job overall. Most of our customers were friendly but there was a family of four we dubbed the "pig family." Every week, mom, dad and their son and daughter would come in and get a meal then proceed to wreck our dining room. Two tables, not one - corn and grease all over the seats and floor, mashed potatoes and gravy smeared on the table, chicken bones everywhere. And you know they didn't throw their trash away.

What were our options - smile and endure, cleaning it up each time? Sure. Take them aside and quietly ask them to be cleaner? Maybe. I chose a different tactic in my early twenties...

As we saw them enter the parking lot, I took the mop and bucket out to the already clean dining room and waited. When they came in the door, I said loudly "WHEW NOW THE DINING ROOM IS CLEAN, THAT JOB IS DONE." The employees loudly praised me and agreed. We were hoping the pig family would take the hint.

They ordered. I grabbed a bucket and started loading it with chicken (using tongs of course). The mom called to me, pointing out that I hadn't washed my hands after touching the mop handle - she was right so I put the bucket down to wash my hands then started filling it again. Louder, she complains that it's the SAME BUCKET, could I start with a clean one?

Something snapped in my head at that moment. I nodded, said "sure, no problem" and flung the half-full bucket as hard as I could at the wall away from them, Original Recipe exploding over the tiny trash can. I started loading the new bucket when I heard the dad yelling at me, asking me if I had a problem. He was leaning over the counter, gesturing angrily toward me. I said no, I was sorry, let's forget about it...this went back and forth until I asked if he really wanted to know, and he said yes, so I told them.

It was as quiet as a KFC at dinnertime could be after that. I called my manager and told her what happened, then wrote down her number and took it out to them and offered them free dessert, which they ate in silence. The dining room was clean when they left.

Basically, there are idiots the world over. There is no excuse to treat others any differently than you'd want to be treated. Just take heart you have work, can (hopefully) save some $ and will move onto choosing a work environment with more discernment to meet basic human rights of dignity and respect.

I currently work at a KFC and I cannot tell you how many times I have had to deal with crappy customers. They don't respect me or my coworkers and are constantly takin out their stress on us. I've had sodas thrown at me because they are angry with prices, yelled at because we don't offer a certain type of chicken and completely embarrassed because there's a 5 minute wait on the fresh wedges they requested!
I don't make the prices, I don't control what is on the menu or how long it takes to properly cook something.
I'm just a worker saving up for college. I am always very nice and very professional and I often get customers that are amazed I am so nice to the awful customers.
I overall love my job, I love the fact that I always have something to do, I love my nice regular customers, and my coworkers are like a second family to me. I wish the customers would understand that there is a lot more to the job than just serving them, there is a lot of work to be done. I wish they could just have one day in my oily, mashed potato crusted shoes.

They Desperately Need An Order Accuracy Screen

I am a frequent visitor of KFC/Taco Bell located at 1978 E. Osceola Parkway in Kissimmee, FL. I've found that my experience when visiting this establishment almost solely depends on the employees working the drive-through at the time.

It seems that whenever this one particular employee is working, my order gets screwed up one way or another.

I went through the drive-through the other night and ordered my food along with a diet pepsi. He told me to come to the window for my total. He must not have been entering my order into the computer as I was giving it to him since, upon arriving at the window, he asked what I wanted to drink. I told him Diet Pepsi. He takes another order through his headset, and after that order is complete, he asks me again what I wanted to drink.

I told him Diet Pepsi. He makes the drink and hands it to me as another employee hands me my food. I thank them and drive off. Back on the main road, I take a sip from the drink to discover it's regular Pepsi. I just drank it and went home, albeit annoyed. Mistakes happen, I'm fully aware.

Tonight, I give them another chance. I went through the drive-through and ordered 2 Steak Burritos, 2 Steak Quesadillas, and a medium Diet Pepsi. The same guy is taking orders. Dialogue as follows:

Me: "Hi! I'd like two steak burritos, two --"
Him: "How many?"
Me: "Two."
Him: "What else?"
Me: "Two steak quesadillas."
Him: "Two or three?"
Me: "Two."
Him: "Okay."
Me: "And a medium Diet Pepsi."
Him: "Is that all?"
Me: "Yep."
Him: "Total is 8.61."

So I get to the window..I take a sip of my drink as soon as its handed to me, and it's correct. I pay, get my food and drive off. Should have checked my order then...it's my fault for not doing so...I didn't think it would be necessary after basically confirming it twice...but it wasn't until I was back on the main road that I discovered he had entered my order for two steak burritos, two steak CHALUPAS, and a diet pepsi. And that's exactly what I got.

This particular location needs to install an Order Verification screen at the drive-through menu, or get somebody else who can take orders more efficiently. Perhaps doing both would work best. I think I need to start asking them to repeat the order back to me before I leave the menu, though it shouldn't be necessary.

But you know what is irritating the most? All of the employees behind the counter, with the exception of the one working the front counter, are wearing headsets. They ALL hear drive-through orders as they're being given. Do they not realize an error in the making when they hear a customer ordering a particular item, and the order taker enters another? Surely, at least one out of the 5 or 6 working realized the mistake. When I used to take drive-through orders at Wendys, my coworkers would be sure to ask me to clarify the order with the customer if they believe I had misinterpreted something. Apparently they don't care, or they all have the headsets turned off. Either way, it's not working out for them.

And the kicker of it all? The back of the receipt gives you a website where you can take a survey about your experience, and be entered into sweepstakes to Win $1,000. I laughed when, after filing a negative review about tonight's experience, it tells me that I am not eligible to be entered into the sweepstakes. Perhaps they only enter those who have positive things to say?

Who could ever have anything positive to say about KFC or Taco Bell. They both should be avoided unless you need an antidote for some rare disease or something.

C20 - actually, my experience tends to be great whenever my order is handled by their day-shift employees. The service is friendly, the food is hot, fresh and speedy!

Taco Bells food is not precooked and bussed in. I don't know where ya'll get that. It is precooked (the meat) yes, but in plastic steamer or boiling bags that are dropped in boiling water to heat. The beans are dehydrated and they are combined with boiled water.

Ladyscot is right...I work at a KFC/Taco bell...the beef,steak,chick all pre cooked and kept frozen till they are put in extremely hot but not boiling water. The beans are dehydrated and when boiling water is added you got your beans. Some sauses are just powder then just add water others are just pre-made and shipped to the store in bags and kept in the cooler till they need to be used...For KFC...The chicken is shipped raw kept in cooler till it needs to cooked. Mashed potatoes and gravy...Just powder add water and you got'em. Green bean in cans add seasoning and microwave, macaronio n cheese in aluminum pand kept frozen till they are put in the pver and cooked add a bit of water for creamy texture and there you go. All, the cheese, lettuce, etc shipping in bags and kept in cool till needed.

Anyhow back to the drive through order taking thing. I Would absolutely love one of those Accuracy screens in out drive-through. Since yes the drive - through person usually is some young person who doesn't really care. They should put me on the drive-through but I'm usually on front counter since I'm the only employee that smiles,greets and says thank you to EVERY customer that comes through.

BTW, In San Antonio since we are fanchise and speed is an issue they(meaning distric managers) don't want us to repeat orders since it takes up time. So in turn they give up their accuracy for speed. Makes no sense to me.

They want up tp greet the customer with "How are you today?" and that's it. Take order tell the total have them drive up collect money give order and done.

Me, I like to say "Thank you for choosing kfc/Taco Bell this is Kendra how can I help you?" take the order repeat it, give total, and then repeat it a second time at the window, collect money, get the order double check it then hand it out and say "Thank You, have a good day"

After all it really doesn't take that much time to do that. But what the higher ups want is what the team members have to do. Kind of sucks huh?

cos in the long run if you know they're just going to screw it up, you're not going to save any time with the drive-through.

and yeah I know... you should expect them to get it right
but when faced with a choice between "expecting them to get it right" and "going inside to make sure they get it right"...

well I'd rather have my order right so... I'd pick the second one

Kitty, I feel you. I work at Walmart, and for the most part people are polite. But there are some who act like I am there for their abuse pleasure. I used to take that crap. I don't anymore. I am still polite, but I don't kiss butt.

When someone can't even say hello when you do, then ignore you when you try to say something, then ignore you when you say thank you at the end, I just loudly say your welcome. Come back soon now.

When I get the put the money on the little counter thingy instead of my hand, I out the receipt there. When a customer remarks about me not putting it in their hand, I tell them I thought they didn't want me to touch them since they laid the money there in the first place. That usually gets their attention.

Simple little common courtesies go a long way. I am not your slave nor am I your servant. You treat me with respect or I will walk away and leave you standing there.

Worst Taco Bell, the one in osceola parkway. Several times I had problems in the drive through area. They have inneficient, stupid, racist people that don't understand what you ask for. I will never come back again because every time is the same priblem

2 Bad Experiences at KFC

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS -- Like a large number of other people, my wife and I tried to use the Oprah coupons, and we were turned away from using them. That was upsetting, but occasionally a marketing ploy goes wrong and the company isn't ready for it, so we understood when we were told that we'd have to fill out a voucher and the company would mail us replacement coupons.

We opted to wait awhile after that, so that the hype could calm down, demand slacken, etc. We waited nearly a month, in fact, finally purchasing a 10 piece bucket last night. We had no real trouble placing our order at the store, though we did have to wait about fifteen minutes for the order to finally get to us.

When we got home, we were stunned by how small the pieces were. The bucket was only filled to slightly past the halfway point, despite the fact that we received the full measure of 10 pieces. Our bucket contained 3 wings, 3 drumsticks, 3 thighs, and only 1 breast. Our dismay only grew when we began to eat.

All of the pieces were puny, so puny in fact, that I went to the freezer to pull out a pair of cornish game hens so that I could compare. The drumsticks on the cornish hens were larger than those from the bucket. ALL of the pieces from KFC were the same size or smaller than on cornish game hens.

As bad as the size of the pieces were, the taste and texture were even worse. The wings contained so little meat, what was left had been melded into the bones by cooking. The breast was so dry and tough, I could only liken it to eating some sort of chicken jerky. The drumsticks and thighs were OK, but the drumsticks aren't much larger than what you'd get in an order of buffalo wings from Wing Stop or Hooters, and you can't get very far on just 3 thighs.

On whole, our bucket contained very little meat, and much of it was badly cooked. As we finished dinner, I remarked that we should have gone to Market Street. For 2 dollars more, we could have purchased 16 pieces of rotisserie or fried chicken, and we would have gotten to choose the pieces. Not only would we have gotten 3 or 4 times the meat of our KFC bucket, but every piece would have been edible.

We won't be going back the KFC. This was last time we're going to get burned by them.

I'm a fan of the Fried, Original or Crispy. The grilled looks overly messy and with two kids, yea, disaster waiting to happen. I actually haven't been to KFC in over 6 months. penny pinching and KFC or any restaurant out is not keeping with the budget.

Pepper, I am surprised. It seems with your screen name that Popeye's would be a natural for you. I tried Popeye's one time, never again. Maybe some people like eating chicken while it is on fire, I am not one. Again, who decided food had to hurt you to be any good? Everyone seems to have gone nuts adding very spicy food to their menus, like BK with their Angry Whopper. I tasted some spicy green beans by a company called Cajun Chef recently, and it was nice, just enough snap to make it interesting, but a good flavor. I will take flavor over fire any day.

Message From A KFC Manager Regarding Coupon Problems & Rainchecks

MANCHESTER, TENNESSEE -- Hello,
I'm Jamie an Assistant Manager at Kfc. I know there have been a lot of issues with the free 2pc. meal from Oprahs website and I'd like to explain why. The day Oprah put those coupons on her website it was working fine until later on that afternoon. I was told to make sure every coupon had different barcode or it was a copy. We were not allowed to taked copies. After receiving several same barcode coupons I got on website myself printed one had same barcode as the others I'd been getting. I alerted all Kfc's in my region and All my manager's in our area so that everyone would know barcodes are coming in the same and to honor them. Oprah's website said "due to overwhelming downloads, the website is having technical difficulties". Her website was not prepared for the amount of downloads she received which also caused problems for KFC. This meant everyong could make as many copies as they wanted of the same coupon. People were doing this and this is why a lot of KFC's were running out of chicken. We didn't even have enough for the paying customers. This is where the raincheck coupons come in to the deal. You only have to take coupon to any kfc, fill out short raincheck form, we send it off in the mail for you, you receive free drink for inconvenience, and we are very sorry it didn't run more smooth. We are still honoring coupons but in a different way with rainchecks. We are doing the best we can to keep up with the high demand of our Grilled Chicken.

Please give us one more chance. The grilled chicken is amazing. I eat it everyday on break. lol. We will try our best to get out the new free meal coupons to you in the mail a. s.a.p.

Again we apologize.

Good post. The major problem with the coupons was that they failed to prepare for the onslaught of demand. Not enough servers to handle the load. What they created was an artificial 'Denial of Service' attack on their own system. Another problem was that many franchise operators chose not to participate and failed to do anything until it was too late.

Great post! I honestly think that KFC was unprepared for the amount of coupons they were going to get and the customers were abusing the free coupons. It sounds like the computer servers on the website just weren't big enough for all the hits they were getting for the coupons.

Keep your head up, like any bad dream this too will end.

Finally, someone who can answer everyone's complaints. Way to go! So, people back off - sounds like KFC and Oprah had good intentions, they just couldn't keep up with all the greedy people out there.

Excellent informative and you are explaining quite professionally what happened. Coming from a KFC employee perhaps folks will now listen although they've been told before. There will still be those who grumble and complain over their inconvenience with a free meal.

The whole problem is really based upon the coupon itself. KFC should never have allowed a printable coupon. Secondly, they should have attached the free offer to an existing purchase. Buy any combo or bucket meal and get a free two piece grilled chicken. This would have eliminated all of those losers that would trample their own grandmother to get something for free.

You're correct DC and I expect KFC won't make that mistake again. If they had it to do over, well too late for that. From the complaints we've read on this website even some who received a free meal complained about the wait or some inconvenience.

My sister went to one in NJ and it was mobbed. She and a bunch of other people were in line for a LONG time when a group of trash came in and just cut in front of everyone. My sister said they should go to the back of the line and wait like everyone else. They yelled at her "Don't start somethin' you ain't going finish!"
And the workers there were so scared of the mob they just let them cut. Plus, even though the coupons said one per person, there were people there with 10 or more and since the crew was scared, they just gave them as many as they wanted.
I won't be going to a KFC again just because of this. It was a poorly thought out gimmick.

I told my sister that I guess KFC now stands for "Killed For Chicken".

If someone cut line in my store I wouldn't ever just let it go. If they refused to move I would call the authority. I hate when it comes to that but sometimes that's just what it takes when someone wants to be hard headed. I'm just saying I am not a big girl at all but I am not scared of anybody trying to be intimidating. I try to always follow the rules and be fair with everyone and every now and then there will be someone trying to get rude and pushy to get their way and I got to say, that never works on me. It doesn't make me want to be nice to someone who is not nice to me. I will still be smiling as I approach them even if what I have to tell them isn't what they want to hear.

Embarrassment to KFC Chain

CHESAPEAKE, VIRGINIA -- In my opinion, the KFC on Western Branch Blvd in Chesapeake, Va is the worst managed KFC I have ever been in, although I've been in a few others. Guess KFC is not picky about who buys their franchises and those folks are not picky about their managers. If I were KFC, I'd be ashamed to associate my name with this one. The service is ALWAYS slower than slow at this location; employees are slower than slow, show little interest in their job, certainly NO interest in customer service and often rude. There was a young man at the register, one young girl behind him, sort of filling orders and 1 lady doing drive through orders and another guy, I assumed was cooking. The young man at the register was so slow and had absolutely no enthusiasm or interest in even trying to move faster or even pay a lot of attention to taking the orders to make sure they were right. The young girl clearly did not want to be there. She was slowly moving back and forth, taking her time doing whatever and mumbling something to the affect that she wasn't even supposed to be there today and she didn't want to do something or other, things to that effect. This now sets the stage for how well the service would be and it was sooo obvious! Did I mention that it was Friday at 6:30 PM when many more people come out to eat than normal; so wouldn't you think they'd be prepared with enough staff and food? But this particular branch always seems to be this way, at least from the times I've been there in the past, no matter what day or time. And another family there that night said the same thing.

So here's the scenario. When I arrived, there were 4 people in front of me and 6 others already waiting to pick up their food, not to mention the drive through. It took about 15 minutes for me to even get to the register to place my order. Okay, that I could handle. When I finally left after 30 minutes, there were now at least 8 more people in line and 6 still waiting for their food!

Once I placed my order I stepped back to wait with the others who were there before me. Within 5 minutes the girl called my # and I was amazed, because those in front of me were still waiting. But I thought maybe they had large orders or something and I didn't know how they decided which orders went first. So I stepped up to pick up my order, but it was only half filled and it was wrong. The first half of the order was to be one grilled meal to include a breast, leg, mashed potatoes/gravy, 1 biscuit, 1 cole slaw and 1 drink for $4.99. She put in the mashed potatoes/gravy, cole slaw, 1 leg, 1 thigh and 1 wing. The other order was 3 strips 1 cole slaw and 1 biscuit and it was not even with the meal order. I explained the error on the one meal to the girl and she said that the grilled breasts were not ready yet, but as soon as they were she would add one. I think they thought they could just put in what they had and it wouldn't be noticed, because it was take out. Now the meal with mashed potatoes/gravy was sitting there getting cold. But I waited and figured as soon as the grilled breasts were ready, she would toss one in the meal (that was sitting there getting cold) and finish my order with the strips and let me go.

But instead when the breasts came up, she left my meal sitting there while she filled two tubs with the grilled breasts. So I spoke up and asked if she could just add one breast to my meal sitting there and give me my strips and I could go. By now she was frustrated so she grabbed a breast as soon as they were up, threw it into the meal and into a bag and sort of tossed it on the counter at me. When I told her that wasn't all of my order... she grabbed a box, 3 strips, cole slaw and biscuit and threw them into the box and into the bag.

Then, much to my surprise, or not, the lady now at the register waiting for her order to be taken, shouted AT ME to wait my turn! I told the lady that I was waiting my turn and only came up to get my order when she, the girl working there, called my number, and that it was wrong and I was just trying to get it right so I could leave. All of this because of incompetence! It is management's fault because they are responsible for those they hire and how that place is running when they are not there! People there were obviously getting annoyed and frustrated!

This is the most ridiculous excuse for management of a KFC that I have ever seen. I will never go back in there again. If KFC is selling its franchises to such incompetent managers and they hire such incompetent, rude employees, then I hope KFC goes out of business. And the food is not even worth it. The fried chicken there always tastes like old grease and is way over-cooked.

DELTA, COLORADO -- I went to KC on 3-21-09 at approximately 800pm. I went to the drive up window. The women asked can I help you? I said I would like a 6 piece meal with mashed potatoes and gravy and coleslaw. She said can you repeat that? I did. Then she said " turn you car off I can't hear you". I turn the car off. I repeated my order she said, come to the window. I drove to the window. The first thing she said to me was "are you OK ma'am!" I said I am fine thank you. I was puzzled by the question but I did not pay much attention to it. She then said "you have a 6 piece meal with coleslaw and a diet coke", I responded with and that has mashed potatoes and gravy?. She waked away. The window was still open.

The older women and a young girl came back by the window. The older women said " you will have to deal with this women I refuse she is rude and I don't have to put up with it" she also said that "you deal with her if she is rude to you let me know we don't have to put up with this crap. Well, I am listing to this and trying to figure out what started this attitude. However I tried to get the young girls attention and she did not hear me or chose not to and walked away. When the young girl came back I finally had to say excuse me ma'am. Then the girl acknowledged me. I said " all I wanted was a 6 piece meal with mashed potatoes gravy and coleslaw with a diet coke". She then said that would be $19.00 dollars.

I asked way $19.00 when the 6 piece meal is only $13.85 cents?. That is when the older women came to the window and started slapping her hand on the counter with every word that she that she used to explaining why the meal was $19.00. I finally decided that I did not have to put up with her Rude attitude. I said " keep your chicken!" and her response was I will and don't bother to come back again. I could understand the attitude if I had it coming. However this time I did not. If the women does not like her job she should find a new one. I will guarantee I will never go back to the Delta KC and I will tell all my friends not to go to the Delta KC.

There was no reason for the attitude. I hope that the manager does not condone this type of attitude from his employees. If he does I sincerely hope that the public does not, and will show him by not eating out at his store, or at the very least write him a formal complaint. In a small town it is not good business to hire employees that are not good with the public. I do understand that even in food service you should not have to deal with Rude people However there is a give and take. when dealing with the employees that are nasty or rude it is hard to keep calm your self. The only thing I or any one can do is file a complaint to the manager. I believe I had a right to question the cost, especially when for 2 days the TV adds have been advertising the 8 piece meal including mashed potatoes gravy and coleslaw for $12.00 so I found it questionable when she said the cost was $19.00.

KFC Sucks

MONROE, LOUISIANA -- Back on February 11Th I went through the drive through of the KFC on Martin Luther King drive in Monroe Louisiana. I placed an order or 2 of the 7 piece BBQ wings and my total was $8.78. I handed the lady a $20 (I know for a fact I gave her a $20 because that's all I had was 2-$20 bills) and she proceeded too give me back $1.22 Change. When I told her that I gave her a $20 she then proceeded too tell me that "no you didn't you gave me a $10". She said he very rudely like I had insulted her. I asked for the manager and told her that I had given the lady a $20. The cashier then proceeded too shut the window and said something too the manager (which I found to be odd). The manager then asked me too pull up and they will count the drawer. Not even 2 minutes later the manager sent someone else out too tell me the cashiers drawer was 97 cents over. Now how can someone count down a drawer in 2 minutes. I use too me a manager at a movie theater and I know it took me at least 10 minutes too count down a drawer, because theres so many distractions.

Then I had asked for the district managers number and luckily for me the office was right behind the KFC building. When I asked for the district manager, I had informed him what was going on. And he said there was nothing he could do since her drawer was over. And I asked him was it possible that she gave back someone back too much change and was short changing me too make up for it, his response was no that's impossible she would never do that. Basically he refused too work with me. I then proceeded too tell him that KFC lost a customer for life.

I got on the net too look up the corporate office number and found the customer service number. I called it and the guy told me that he would get someone too call me back ASAP. Well its been almost a month and 6 calls too customer service number later, I have yet too receive a call. Finally the lady I spoke too at customer service gave me the number too the corporate office. So I will be calling them myself. But it is clear too me that KFC does not care about customers satisfaction, nor do they care if they lose a customer or not. Like I said I will not be going back too any KFC ever again.

just, I haven't either. I've NEVER said, "here's a twenty" because it never occurred to me.

Another thing that cashiers used to do and I don't know if they do now or not, is to keep the money proffered by the customer on the outside of the til until they made change. They probably don't do that anymore.

I know most cashiers can't count change back to you manually..they need the amount printed out for them or they get completely frozen in time.

Boki, you're right, I remember when I was a cashier at a grocery store many years ago, that's the first thing I was taught was to place the cash the customer gave me on top of the till while I figured their change.
Now that I think about, no place I shop do I see this happening anymore.

I don't know who taught me how to count back money, but its so easy and useful..and I suck at math too, but that's a skill I use.

Rude Manager, Even Ruder General Manager

ODESSA, TEXAS -- I was with a friend of mine who went through the drive through at the KFC on JBS Parkway in Odessa Texas. She asked for one of those bowls that has mashed potatoes, gravey and corn and chicken in it and wanted to replace the corn with macaroni and cheese. She was promptly and in a rude tone told, “No, we don’t substitute anything!” My friend tried to explain to her that every time she comes here she always orders it that way. She was told she could get it as a side and the bowl would remain the way it came but she was not going to make the bowl for her customized like that. My friend said fine, I would also like your managers name and number, to which she was told,” I am the manager” We waited long moments of silence and my friend said, “Hello? I was not done ordering” She said and I am still waiting, in a rude high pitched voice. Mind you, she is getting ruder by the minute. She asked for the total and she said ” it will b e at the window, I'm fixing your order!”

Ok…we drove to the window and waited for her to come to the window. My friend asked for the corporate number to which this lady said rudely, “It will be on your receipt!” Ok…fine, we would call from there, then I leaned forward to ask her “ Do you know how much business you just lost by your rudeness?” She said “ I don’t care!” and to that, with my friends order in her hand, my friend asked her” what’s your name?” She told her [snip] or some such spelling, then slammed the window shut without giving her the food, she refused to let my friend pay for it and let us get on our way. She slammed the window so hard that it bounced back open. My friend reached out and opened the window and said “ Can I get that phone number now?” To which she was handed a phone number on a slip of paper .

We pulled up a little and she called. The district manager was friendly and apologizing profusely. She explained exactly what had happened and he said, are you where you can go inside? I am giving you your food for free” We said we were still there in the driveway and we could go in.

We went in and you could hear Lisa in the back saying she didn’t care who was calling, she wasn’t accommodating the changes and she wasn’t serving her the food. To which I said,”that’s OK, the district manager is calling you” There was a sweet black lady trying to diffuse it all by saying “ They aren’t asking for you to give them the world” and suggesting that she apologize for her rude behavior, which of course, Lisa wasn’t listening.

Then we see a slender older oriental man on the phone with the district manager, being just as rude as he can when he was talking to him, having absolutely no respect at all in his tone for him. This was just getting to be unbelievable at this point, WOW!

OK, you can hear the spiteful Lisa in the back yelling about the whole thing, the place is full of people as well. Then she comes to the counter and throws the aforementioned bagged food at the counter and stalked away.

Is this customer service people? No. No one wants to be treated like this. If Lisa had been on the other side of the serving line she would feel the same way. I want to know if these managers and, the oriental man being the general manager, understands the KFC credo? I think not, do you want me to recite it for you here? All companies have their slogans and the few very good ones who have all the customers stand by what they say.

This is there online slogan that I found:

We believe that a passion to please and customer satisfaction are the driving forces behind our success. We properly train our employees and provide them with opportunities for growth

I can tell you, from what I saw, they do not stand behind their product at this store. Buyer beware!

And that is my opinion.

It sounds to me like you were both out of line. Just because an employee acts rude, or what you perceive to be rude, does not give the customer the right to also be rude and vice versa. Unfortunately, oftentimes employees, of all businesses, are expected to stand there and "take it" like a good lil soldier from an irate, out of control customer..over mac 'n' cheese??
If this person is as rude as you say she was, I'm sure she's had many other complaints and will soon find herself looking for another job.

jaded, I understand you don't want to hear any opinions that may not agree with your post 100%, however this is an opinion site so I'm entitled to post mine. I assure you I don't work at KFC, in fact I detest fast food, but I do work in customer service and have seen both employees and customers lose it over the silliest things...and more often than not, it's customers that don't like the answer no. As I said in my comment to you previously, if this person is really this rude, I'm sure you aren't the only one that's complained and soon she will be looking for a new job.

The people who work there get treated like dirt by corporate. Jaded, do you honestly think that, that particular employee woke up that day and said "How many asses can I kiss today at my low-paid, under-appreciated job today" with a smile?

Please, I hardly doubt you're telling the detailed version of this story. Most people treat "fast-food" employees like scum just because they think they deserve it. It's pretty sick.
Most people have bad days and love to take it out on these employees because they're considered easy targets. When their not as easy to push around as the aggressive customer thought they get even more mad and decide try and make a big deal out of nothing by either yelling or screaming at the employee after they ask for the manager.
By the way, if you were really treated that badly, just remember the managers there get treated just as bad as the average employee, so the whole "I want to speak with your Manager" bit just shows how ego/power hungry your bad day made you.

I had to actually call the police on one Taco bell customer I was waiting behind for lunch because he was actually try to smack this teenage girl for getting him the wrong drink.

They're not stepping stones just because they work fast-food.

Your employees don't care to get orders when I go through the drive in

NEWCASTLE, OKLAHOMA -- I wanted a 8pc meal original recipe and the new dip em chicken tenders. I go through the drive in and said"I want a 8pc meal original recipe with mashed potatoes & gravy" whoever was talking to me asked me" What other side order would you like?" I answered "corn" . She asked "is there anything else?" I said yes, I want your new chicken tenders with the dipping sauces" She then asked "Is that in place of the 8pc. meal?" I said no. I then repeated my order louder and slower so she would understand . She still got it wrong. I then asked louder "Can you hear me? Do you understand what I want?" I was then talking to her as if she were a 6 year old child. I'm guessing she got confused and repeated my order to me. I got very angry and frustrated and yelled" If you are incapable of taking my order correctly, forget it" I then drove off with no food. The fast food industry doesn't deserve any raises to $10.10 a hour. You don't teach employees to think with a brain. You teach them to do without thinking. You have them in this little cubicle box and they don't think out of the box.

I have been in the retail business for 30+ years and I also owned my own business, so I know what it is like to work with the public. Thank you for letting me get this off my chest.

NO Chicken

PHILDELPHIA 19114, PENNSYLVANIA -- I still can't believe it, two days later, I stopped in this Philadelphia, Torresdale location on a Sunday afternoon at 4:30 PM, and they had no chicken. When I walked in I could tell that the customer in front of me was upset about something, but I did not know what until I approached the counter and asked for an 8 piece bucket of chicken meal, to go, they said they didn't have any, OK I'll have the extra crispy, They, again said that too would not be ready for 20-25 minutes. Has anyone ever heard of a chicken place not having chicken, especially, like my family likes to do, have an early, easy Sunday meal.

Had that happen at 5pm on a Friday afternoon, no chicken at all and none being prepared. I've never been back to any KFC after that.
