Very Happy With Our KZ Sidewinder 5th Wheel Toy Hauler

SHIPSHEWANA, INDIANA -- In summer of 2017 we purchased our new KZ RV from Family Camping Outlet in Pottstown, PA. We had many questions before we purchased, and the dealer and KZ answered all of them in a timely fashion. Before we took delivery of the RV, the dealer found that 1 of the A/C units was not working properly. The A/C unit was promptly replaced and was working well when we received the RV. Thus far, we have stayed in 6 campgrounds for a total of about 80 nights, and traveled about 2,000 miles with the RV. We have not experienced any issues. Everything works well. We are very happy with our dealer, and with KZ and the Sidewinder RV.

Very Happy With KZ Purchase

ZELIENOPLE, PENNSYLVANIA -- I purchased a new KZ Sportsmen 20RBT hybrid travel trailer in August 2015. This is my 5th trailer but first KZ. The 20RBT seemed to be the most trailer for the money and its floor plan and tow weight met my needs. While my expectations were not high based on price and build quality (glued and stapled, not screwed), I am happy to report that after 3 years, approx. 30 weekend trip and 5,000 miles of towing, I couldn't be happier! Nothing has failed, come apart or needed to be replaced. It doesn't leak, tows easily behind my F150 and has room to sleep 9 if needed. I would buy another KZ product based on the value, but I would be even more careful, based on what I'm hearing about Thor's impact on KZ.

Disappointment with New Trailer

TEXAS -- We paid cash for a new 2018 K-Z Travel Trailers. Got it home and my husband started putting our stuff in it. When he took the mattress off the bed to take the plastic off it was all wet underneath. He got the water hose and ran it on the window and could see water coming in and running down the wall. Call KZ and they told him not to take it to a dealer but instead take it to a regular camper repair place. We did, that was almost 3 weeks ago and we still do not have our camper back and don't know when we will get it back.

K-Z also told us we would have to pay for it and they would reimburse us. In no way should we have to pay for this. We had it less than 24 hours when we discovered it was leaking. I have since tried to contact them and have gotten no kind of response at all. It is like they have our money and who cares if we have the camper. I don't blame the dealership we bought it from, they have tried to help but it is K-Z that should have tried to help us more.

SHIPSHEWANA, OKLAHOMA -- We purchased a new KZ Connect Spree 241rks from Bell Camper in Bartlesville OK in July of 2015. KZ customer service assisted promptly with all the questions I had concerning the 241rks. We were so impressed with our dealer and KZ that we traded our 241rks in on a slightly larger 260rks after seeing it at a boat and RV show. Awnings work as designed as did all other accessories. After reading some of the other negative reviews I thought it time to throw in my three cents.

2015 stoneridge

Me and my wife purchased a 2015 stoneridge fifth wheel, it has had many issues. Too many to list. The worst one is they plumbed the washer into the black tank so when you use the toilet and the washer is on spin cycle and you flush it blows back on you. Why didn't they plumb it into the grey tank? We will never buy another KZ ever. My list of problems exceed 25, and I believe that's too many.

TOMB, TEXAS -- After less than one month of ownership, my trailer is falling apart. The flooring has soft spots, the shower surround came loose from the wall, and the bathroom counter is swelling up from day one. KZ is refusing to fix.. Poor customer service and warranty commitment.

Slides With Black Slides

The sides of the slides are black. In the direct sun, they are so hot that you cannot hold your hand on that side of the slide. Versus a white slide on the trailer right next to it, which was not that warm! All that heat is being transferred right inside that unit.

KZ Problems
By -

SHIPSHEWANA, INDIANA -- I purchased my KZ Coyote in 2006. It was LOVE at first sight. The "Honeymoon" was short lived. There are water and gas leaks, broken drawer guides - TWICE, electrical problems, blinds not working, hot water heater SNAFUs, noisy furnace fans, and now the outside vinyl /skin is separating from the frame. Air is getting under it causing buckling and air pockets. I look like the “Beverly Hillbillies” with all the duct/Gorilla tape trying to “band aid" it back after caulking didn't work. I sent e-mail and pix to KZ requesting a how-to-fix solution, but never heard back. Every time I go out something else breaks. I thought I just had a “LEMON”, but seems I'm not alone.

Electrical slide motor
By -

During the warranty period one of my slide motors failed and after attempts at a dealer with no success I went about 800 miles out of my way, all at my cost to the factory in Indiana. The motor was replaced and as it was on warranty I did not pay much attention as to why it failed. 17 months later it failed again. The Fifth wheel was now close to 1 year out of its 2 year warranty. I then took off the motor for inspection, and found out that it was all corroded and rusted. The small springs for the brushes had disintegrated.

These slide motors are mounted directly behind the tires. When driving on wet pavement they are being blasted with rain water. There is a rubber sleeve that goes about 1/2 way on the motor, but because the 12 volt wires come out the end there is a gap for water to get in. It is my opinion that there is nothing at all wrong with the motor, but is a poor design installation by KZ. I have caulked/taped around the rubber sleeve, and put a deflector shield between the tires and motor. I think it shall greatly increase the life of the motors. These motors are expensive, and lasting only 18 months or so is a joke.

I advised KZ of the problem and I thought they would be happy that I brought this problem to their attention. I also requested a new motor and that I would be willing to meet them half way on cost. I got a flat out rejection. For about a lousy $200.00 they could make me a happy customer and praise their product to all RVers I meet. They chose not to. Please beware of KZ. They would trip over a dollar to save a nickel.
