Despite bad reviews on this site, we discovered a company on the mend. Their delivery was extremely prompt, its product, a beautiful couch arrived in perfect condition.

We are very happy with the company, and I would say that they have pulled their socks up.
NEW YORK, NEW YORK -- I bought a mattress set last week at the store near Union Square in NYC, and the salespeople told me an elaborate story about how the truck gets to the store at 8:00 a.m., drops off new merchandise, picks up deliveries, and is on the road by 9:00 a.m. They told me that I would be the first delivery and promised to be there by 11:00 a.m. today. Well, guess what! The store doesn't even open until 10:00 a.m., and that is when the truck first gets there. Nor was I the first delivery. By the time they got to my house at 1:45 p.m., I was long gone. But not before I called the store and spoke to the manager, who told me that I was a liar and that the salespeople would not have told me that. BRONX, NEW YORK -- What a joke, I wish I would have seen this site before.. On 11/25 my boyfriend and I ordered a bedroom set and was told we had a choice of three delivery dates within 2 weeks. We choose and date and than not even receive a phone call, but a letter saying that now the date has been pushed back to Feb 2006!
We are now without a bedroom set and very upset. I called their customer service department and got nowhere.. Does anyone have contact info for the president of this company? We want a full refund!
HUDSON COUNTY, NEW JERSEY -- If you are willing to buy from this store, keep in mind that they are very likely to make changes at will to the initially promissed delivery time. They may promise delivery for next month, but each time you get an e-mail from them, it is certainly bad news: last one was to "let me know" that the delivery date changed to TWO MONTHS after the originally scheduled time (which, in my opinion, was given me out of nowhere just to sell the product).
So, if you expect to have furniture any time soon, choose another place. Also, you don't want to depend on their unreachable customer service. Last time I called to cancel my order, I was put on hold for more than 45 minutes. Although I really liked the sofa I saw in the store, I am cancelling my order since I do not want to risk having to depend on them again in case the product has any defect (would probably take another 6 months to fix/replace it).
WHITE PLAINS, NEW YORK -- This morning I received my 8th delivery delay notification.
Order Submitted Tuesday, September 13th
Delivery Date: Wednesday, February 8th
I moved into a new house in early Sept and got a new sectional for it. If it wasn't an exceptional couch I would just cancel my order and get something from somewhere else. But I got sucked in and really fell in love with this couch.
With each delay notice I've tried to contact Levitz to see what can be done, they always say there is nothing they can do because the customer service reps don't have that type of information, yet there is nobody in the company that they can refer me to.
Its frustrating beyond belief.
I've just sent out a nasty email to them (which will probably not be read), but I will most likely be cancelling my order with them this weekend after reading some of the awful reviews on this site.

SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA -- I have been writing and calling to Levitz Furniture for over a year trying to get extended warranty service on the leather service I purchased back in 2001. I purchased a 7 year extended warranty and as of yet have still not been able to get a phone call back of service on my sofa. This is the worst company ever and I will be filling with the Better Business Bureau and I am in the process of filing a claim with the Small Claims Court in my area. BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!Add reply
