I worked for Elena and Linens 4 You in September 2007. During that time, I was faced with seriously angry customers. I did my absolute best to be nice to every single one of them. I was called every name in the book, I was yelled at, anything an angry customer can do over the phone or in email you name it I dealt with it.
It's extremely difficult to give a customer a solid answer when you yourself have none to give them. I was told several different things about why refunds weren't being processed or orders weren't being processed.
Elena would say she was applying for loan after loan. I'd get phone calls from banks who would tell ME that she was approved for these loans. We're talking tens of thousands of dollars at a time here. She would tell me these loans were to pay me and the other four employees working for her at the time as well as process refunds that badly needed to go out to upset, merchandise-less customers. Nothing ever happened.
In the roughly three weeks I worked for Elena, I managed to rack up roughly $700 in wages that she swore she would pay to me via PayPal. I had given her all of my info including a copy of my driver's license and social security card and my physical address so that she could send me a check if she couldn't figure out PayPal.
I finally had to stop working for her and I'm glad I stopped when I did. I have emailed her several times to find out why I have not been paid yet and have not received an answer let alone a simple response. I am thoroughly convinced I will never get paid and I can be added to the list of angry victims of Linens 4 You.
I am usually not one to compliment any store. I go in and buy my stuff and whether I am happy or not I never compliment or complain. However, I received such special service with Linens 4 You that I was totally surprised at the service. I wanted to purchase a quilt and shams but also wanted a valance. Unfortunately, the pattern did not have a valance and I really wanted this set badly. Well guess what? Linens 4 You offered to make me the valance from a dust ruffle. I purchased the dust ruffle and out of the dust ruffle the manufacturing dept. made me the valance. It was a service that I have never seen any other company offer before.
Needless to say, they got a customer for life. I was able to get the quilt and accessories that I really wanted painlessly. I highly recommend this company.
MIAMI, FLORIDA -- I purchased a comforter 10/1/2007 confirmation #B204342652. Item never came. Called in December, 2007. They said they would contact supplier. Called 02/13/2008 and spoke with Linda. She said she would contact supplier and call me back. Never called. I called 02/14/2008 and Linda said item is no longer available and would issue refund in 7 days and they sent an email confirming order canceled. No refund was ever issued. Called in May, no one answers phone - goes directly to voice mail. Emailed 06/09/2008. Got a response from customer service that they would contact me the next day. Never heard back.
I have all documentation to back up my complaint.
I have filed a complaint with the BBB and the Florida Attorney General's office. This company has an "F" rating with 64 complaints to the BBB in the last 36 months.
PORTLAND, OREGON -- This company is BAD NEWS! I ordered a comforter that never showed up, and I could not get anyone to return messages I had to leave because the company would not pick up the phone! Finally, after warning them that I was about to report them to the BBB, they contacted me (about 3 weeks after I ordered the comforter) to tell me that unfortunately the comforter was discontinued and I would need to order something different (fat chance!) or they would issue me a credit on my credit card for the purchase price of $312.00. That was over 30 days ago, and the credit has never showed up on my credit card even though I have been assured by Linda from Linens 4 you, through email that everything is on the up and up! My credit card company has now placed this transaction into dispute, and issued me a credit. DON'T TRUST WHAT THIS COMPANY SAYS! I don't know if the employees are trying to do the right thing and just the owner is dishonest or if everyone in the company is fraudulent, but the end result is still the same.
