Not What's on the TV Commercials

KINGMAN, ARIZONA -- I was told today, that they did not have a fish deal. I told them that it is ongoing on the TV and I just had some last week. I explained the deal to the gal because maybe she was new. She said that they only had a chicken deal. I told her how far we had driven just for the fish and we were sure about the TV ads. We always watch the ads so that we can afford your delicious fish and that wonderful coleslaw.

Since we've been home from our wasted trip we have seen the TV ad twice. I have had missing hushpuppies and got 6 fish instead of 8. Once I went back for it the following week while I was in town. The next time I let it go. I've gone to the store in Bullhead AZ and they always know what the current deals are. I would go there more but it's out of my and further away.

The store is always clean and the people are pleasant but I don't think they are kept up to date on the latest deals and ads. Often many people drive far to go shopping and to pick up a bite. They can't afford to go back when vendors have again made another mistake. If times get harder this could make an impact on your sales.

The Sweepstakes Is a Scam

On Sept. 2, 2011 I went to a Long John Silver's and got my lunch for the day. That all was fine, but on the back of the receipt was a sweepstakes offer of a chance to win $1,000.00 to take a survey. I did and at the end of the survey it said I was not eligible to win without a reason why. I looked up the rules and I did not see any reason at all not to be. I see this as a way to get info of a person so telemarketers can call and harass them. I have gotten a hold of a lawyer and we will get to the bottom of this.

BARSTOW, CALIFORNIA -- My husband and I waited in the drive through for at least 15 minutes with only 1 car in front of us. I got out and went into the store to see what was taking so long. When I got into the store they only had 1 young man working both the drive through and the front counter. So I ask the cook where the manager was and he said "** is on the phone." This explains why the young man was by himself. Then after about 5 minutes ** the manager came out and when I told her how long I had been waiting then all she had to say was that she had to count the drawers for the next shift. It took 20 minutes to get 1 Fish and Chicken Combo.

Even though I was inside the restaurant it was rang up in the drive through. However I do not think the young man ** was at fault, I believe that it was the rude manager's fault, she should have been helping customers instead of talking on the phone. I WILL NEVER GO TO THE BARSTOW, CALIFORNIA, LONG JOHN SILVER'S RESTAURANT #31860 AGAIN. Also the telephone # on the receipt is incorrect. Barstow's area code is 760 not 909 as printed on the receipt.

My Children Were So Scared They Didn't Want to Stay and Finish Their Food

WACO, TEXAS -- I visited the Waco TX location on 6th St. with my two children today and I was not happy! The employees were loud, unprofessional, and just ghetto! While getting our drinks they were talking about how one of the employees has stabbed someone!!! While we were eating my kids said "Mommy can we just go I don't feel comfortable here."

I've never been to a restaurant with this type of atmosphere. All the loud inappropriate conversation was uncalled for! I work in a restaurant myself and we strive to make every customer feel at home. I would be ashamed as a manager to have this type of behavior at my establishment! I will never subject my children to this again! I hope something gets done about it.

"Unbelievable"

TAMPA, FLORIDA -- I never experienced such an event. And I felt so very sorry for the employees on board!!! There was an irate customer that came into the restaurant, after throwing a cup at a window (that an inside customer was sitting by). The female that came inside had been through the drive-through and was evidently upset. After the customer screamed her problems and profanity, the Manager on duty left the "inside store" and was on 2 cell phones. The phone was ringing off the hook.

"UNBELIEVABLE", I am at a loss for words, it is Friday evening in Tampa, Florida. I was actually afraid of the way the situation and the way it was handled. That's all I can say. I hope the employees didn't have to "pay" for the mismanagement at your "used to be thriving location." I won't visit that location again with such unprofessional management, I work for the School Board locally and have never even seen such behavior in "Jr. High Schools." Help yourselves and get rid of whomever was in charge.

Poor service at drive in window

GENEVA, NEW YORK -- On May 26, I used the drive through window at the Long John Silver's in Geneva, NY 14456. The server "forgot" to give me my $3.00 in change. He also handed me a root beer when I had ordered iced tea. I had ordered veggie bites and a fish sandwich. I sat and waited for many minutes and no food came.

I tried honking horn to get their attention and tell them about the wrong drink and the fact that he had not given me my change. I was ignored and just kept sitting there. There seemed to be a lot of noise going on inside and some very young kids supposedly working, but they did not seem trained at all. This is not the first time I have had very poor service at the Geneva restaurant. Thank you.

Awful Meal

LAKELAND, FLORIDA -- Went to new LJS and bought take out meal. Girl taking order was nice, got to window to receive meal and they make us wait, (very few people there). The meal was sitting on counter for several minutes. When we got home, just a five-minute ride, opened the box and fries were cold. They were thrown in the bottom with the fish on top. Fish was not cooked and when upon opening slaw container it appeared that someone had already eaten some of it. And that horrible meal was served up by a nasty employee who about threw it out the window at us. Is this any way to run business??? New store too.

Understaffed and Slow

OREGON, OHIO -- The Woodville Road store in Oregon/Northwood, Ohio, is so slow, I'm still waiting for an order I placed for lunch there 2 MONTHS ago -- NOT! Seriously, they have only 3 people working there at lunch time on most days. 1 on the window, 1 taking the dine-in orders, and 1 cook -- all of them with 1 brain between them.

I was there with 2 co-workers for lunch this past Friday and it was a disaster. We waited in line both before and after our order was placed for at least a total of 20 minutes or more. We got ripped off on fries -- maybe 12 or 15 on my platter. The tables are filthy along the edges -- have not been cleaned in years. They have a real problem with flies buzzing around, too. The one guy is very apologetic, but hey, to Hell with the apologies, get faster on the service!

Terrible Experience

My family and I went to your Wichita Falls, TX restaurant on Friday Feb 24th. First, The store was excessively dirty. Secondly, counter personnel were unfriendly and acted as if we were putting them out. Also, the workers seemed to be having some type of problems with one another. We heard arguing and foul language for most of our visit. The wait was about 30 minutes for our food. Although the long wait, the food was good. To help keep me as a potential future customer, I would like the following: Fix the problems. At the very least I would like a response from your company regarding this incident. Thank you for your time.

Lobster tails... NOT, Actually Tiny Shrimp!!!

I was very curious about Long John Silver's Lobster Tails at only $3.99. Actually the taste was good, but my curiosity got the better of me, so I took the bread coating off of several of them, and lo and behold what I found was actually very small shrimp!!! How can this company advertise this as "Lobster?" It is NOT!!! I hope some government agency shuts this fraud down, but then when EVER did a government agency do its job??
