Sears Has Better Warranty Service In Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA -- I tried to get my 3 year old Lowe's Maytag washer repaired under the extended warranty purchased through Lowe's and Lowe's sent Volt. After three weeks and two no-show appointments I contacted Lowe's and was told Volt had notified Lowe's that Volt had completed the repairs... No way!!! First I suggest not buying appliances from Lowe's (They subcontract repairs unlike Sears) and second I would not recommend calling Volt for any repairs in the Las Vegas area.

False Appliance Sale at Lowe's

FRISCO, TEXAS -- So this one time I took someone advice and decided to buy my appliance from Lowe's, big mistake. I ordered online, confirmation came that can pick up my order from store tomorrow. Drove 40 miles to pick up, they were like “Oh, that was a mistake. That item is our floor model. We can't give it to you and we don't have one. Do you want your money back?" she said!!! So I lost $65.00 service call fee from the plumber, no appliance.

I called their hotline, guy named ** said “I'll get someone to call you.” Then this guy name **, called once 9:54 pm and left a message. Called 5 times since then never replied my call. (This is at Frisco Texas store.) Spoke to other manager name ** or **, she also handed me around. Long story, I should have stayed with Home Depot. Lowe's, you are a mistake and waste of time. Soon you will be the next Blockbuster. If you go on their website still same order will go through the same way. They don't even care to fix it. I'll share my story with as many people as I can to save them from losing time and money.

Worst Customer Service and Delivery Ever!!!

BETHLEHEM, PENNSYLVANIA -- On 8/23/14, I ordered Counter tops, a dishwasher and other items to be delivered. I got a call about 1 hour later scheduling a delivery of 8/27/14 and would be called with a time. On 8/27/14, I had not got a time for delivery so I called Lowe's and they told me my delivery date was changed to 9/8/14, WITHOUT contacting me to see if I was available, and they didn't seem to care. I wrote customer service at Lowe's and 4 days later, I got a reply saying someone from the store would contact me, she did and offered me 10% off for my trouble, which I NEVER received.

On 9/8, the day my order was switched to without my knowledge, I had still not received a time of delivery. I do work and need to know when this was coming to schedule my work day. So I called them at 6:15 am to see when it was going to be delivered. I was informed, rather rudely, that no one is called until between 8-9 am day of delivery to a time. I gave them my cell and asked them to call me on that because I had to go to work. 9:15 - still no call, so I called again.

I was told they still didn't know when but it will be an AM appointment and I would get a call soon. I asked the contact number they had and it was my HOME, I gave them my cell again and asked them to contact me on that. 10:40 am I finally get a call and they said they will be there between 11-1. Nice, 20 minutes to run home, got there before 11. 12:45 they get there and deliver everything but the DISHWASHER and cord!!! This is why they moved my order in the first place without telling me. I asked the driver where it was and he said, “Sorry, it isn't on my order.”

He called the store and they said it isn't in yet and they don't know when it will be delivered. I called in to customer service AGAIN and I forget who returned my call but she was very apologetic and said someone would contact me as soon as the dishwasher was in and it would be delivered at MY convenience. This morning, 9/9 at 8:35 I get a phone call saying my dishwasher will be delivered between 9-11.

Wow! 25 minutes to rush home this time, and he seemed annoyed I had to check my schedule to see if I can make it, I could. And at 10:53 they get there with the dishwasher but NOT THE POWER CORD. I told him to cancel the cord, and I went right to Home Depot where I will be doing ALL my home improvement from now on and got it.

MENIFEE, CALIFORNIA -- I bought a fridge in Menifee CA. store but after less than a month icemaker stopped working. I contacted them more than 50 times and talked to supervisor and different people but after 2 months playing with me they did not repair or replace the fridge for us and I am very angry with my experience with this store and their service department. I am going to take the case to small claim court as I bought it on credit and I am paying for not working fridge every month. They did not repair or replace it after 2 months.

Lowe's Engaged in Deceptive Business Practice

HOUSTON, TEXAS -- Last week, I went to Lowe's appliance department and tried to purchase a GE Cooktop. The salesperson matched the price with competitor and agreed to give an additional $80 rebate. I tried to pay at that moment but she told me not to pay $35 for the measurement; printed out a four page document; wrote by hand the agreed upon price which was $1099 plus a $80 rebate. The measurement was done yesterday and when I tried to pay for the Cooktop, I was told that the manager has declined to give $80 rebate. It makes me think that their sales practice is designed to rip customer off.

BIG RAPIDS, MICHIGAN -- I have bought all of my major appliances at Lowe's and paid for the extra protection on them. I have never needed them until now. A piece off of my refrigerator broke and I called for a repair. I was told that if a part is broken whether it be intentional or unintentional I would have to pay for the service call. What the hell is the $200 I paid for the extra protection for??? I have spent a lot of money there in the last couple of years but I'm cutting up my card and refuse to do business with a business who cheats people... DO NOT BUY THE EXTRA PROTECTION SERVICES. They cover nothing. You are just wasting your money.

Appliance Purchase

APEX, NORTH CAROLINA -- Be wary of purchasing appliances. I bought a new washer and dryer on 3/25/2014. Then this week 5/4/2014 I noticed water underneath the washer. I called the store and was told that 30 days had passed and I needed to deal with the manufacturer. They almost laughed and said I should have bought the extended service agreement. I shouldn't have to worry about customer service or issues with a new washer. Tread lightly with any appliance purchase. The best part was delivery, those guys were legit.

LAKE PARK, FLORIDA -- Lowe's had always worked with me on everything that I had bought from them. In January, I got a microwave which I didn't notice it was bent until my niece came to visit and she noticed. I went back to the store and they exchange the microwave. I got a different style as the one that I had was no longer available.

Unfortunately, within a week I notice that the microwave had a cracking sound. They first told me to call the manufacturer, but I told them that I didn't wanted fix, I wanted exchange. They couldn't do that because of their policy. They came back to the house and reimbursed me for the microwave and the installation. They have always worked with me and I definitively continue to shop here for major items.

Great Experience With Pricing Issue

JACKSON, MICHIGAN -- My wife and I had a washer and dryer in our shopping cart online. We were researching several units so several days went by before we went back to our shopping cart at Lowes.com. When we went to actually make the purchase the price had gone up significantly. A quick phone call prompted a message to the local store and with a print out of our original shopping cart they matched the lower price no questions asked. Overall it was a great experience and great price.

Lousy Appliance Installation Ruined Our Wood Floor

OREM, UTAH -- We purchased a dishwasher from Lowe's and had them install it. The guy who did the installation didn't connect the drain properly and our laminate wood floor was flooded on multiple occasions. We didn't notice the problem until my wife saw water seeping from the floor when she stepped on it and we could feel the wood was warping. A call to Lowe's got someone out right away to connect the drain properly. They also sent ** from their floor department to measure and assess the damage. Since that time Lowe's has done nothing to help us. They said, “since the installer was insured, his insurance would pay for the damage” - it won't, only a portion.

Calls to Lowe's have been ignored. ** promised to have the "regional manager" call to discuss the problem with us and we have been waiting for a week for that phone call. Lowe's talks good customer service, but when it comes down to it, they couldn't care less about their customers. The good news? We live close to Home Depot. They will now be getting the business Lowe's didn't care about.
