New Flooring in Kitchen and Bath

SPRINGVILLE, NEW YORK -- First off, customer service in that dept is lacking. I stood next to the salesperson while he played around on the computer terminal without any other customers in the department. Finally, after mumbling something under my breath, which he apparently heard, he asked if he could help me. I ended up ordering and paying for ceramic tile. The installer came to my home to measure and immediately told me he couldn't lay the tile because the floor was uneven. Where does Lowe's find these people who obviously do not want to work? And why wasn't I told this before buying the tile? I'm going back to the store to get a refund and, hopefully, will not get the runaround with that! Lowe's needs to be shut down. One bad review after the other.

Tile Installation

DEFUNIAK SPRINGS, FLORIDA -- Went to Lowe's and arranged a tile installation. The tile salesman understood that I was installing the backerboard and that it would go over vinyl. (Subfloor is wood so the anchors will hold well). After the $35 measurement, a different tile salesman wrote up the final project and included removal of old vinyl flooring and installation of backerboard. My wife picked up the order and did not catch the mistake. I went back to Lowe's and spoke to the original salesman and he indicated he knew I was installing the backerboard over the vinyl and should not have been charged for that. He said he would correct the order and email me the new receipt (never received it).

Before installation day, my wife went back and verified they were not doing the backerboard and would not charge us for that. When they came to install, the installers refused to install the tile because the backerboard was placed over the vinyl. They wanted to quote additional cost for tearing out the backerboard, vinyl and re-installing. Buyer beware. Stay away from Lowe's. They look to charge you at every corner and the right hand doesn't seem to know what the left hand is doing. Arranged for private installer but now am left to try and haggle the money back out of Lowe's. I am done with Lowe's installation.

Carpet Purchase and Installation

POMPANO BEACH, FLORIDA -- I needed new carpet for my bedroom, so like most people I shopped around. Lowe's had the StainMaster carpet that I thought would best suit my needs so I purchased my carpet from then. After I purchased it I discovered all of these negative reviews about both Lowe's and Keller Interiors who does the installations for them in this area.

Needless to say I was alarmed and concerned. I am here to tell you that I could not be more pleased! DON'T BELIEVE THE NAY SAYERS! The carpet installers came on time. The two installers were very friendly and professional Cuban Americans. One has been installing carpets for 15 years and the other for 5. They did a PHENOMENAL job! I am so glad that I took a leap of faith and had them install my carpet. They were OUTSTANDING and I am as happy as I can be!

Install Kitchen Floor

WASHINGTON, MISSOURI -- Lowe's had Marc's Flooring to install the Pergo Kitchen Floor. It turned out to be a mess. The kitchen door to the outside is very hard to get open. It scrapes the floor. The trim around the floor does not fit and has jagged edges. The trim around the cabinets does not match. Going into the living room there is glue all over the floor and the trim.

They had to move some of the trim that was staying and when they put it back on they broke it and glued it back together. The trim in the hallway did not line up so they used caulking to fill it in. The piece they put on the floor to go downstairs is so high that it will cause somebody to fall down the stairs. The trim around the bathtub is so ugly and dirty looking. I do not recommend LOWE'S OR MARC'S FLOORING FOR ANY PROJECTS! In fact the manager was supposed to show up at our house between 9:00a.m. and 11:00a.m. this morning July 1 2019 and HE DID NOT!!!

ASHLAND, KENTUCKY -- I would never ever have Lowe's install anything. The people they contract with initially did not show up when stated. Then after numerous calls one group showed up put half the flooring down and left stating they were not given enough time and had other jobs. Then a numerous calls and having to go to the store it was finished. The floor does not align and there is a crack. Now they are suppose to redo a section but the contractor stated they don't have anyone to redo it. I would urge everyone to not have Lowe's install anything. The corporate office does nothing only refers back to the contractor.

BARTLETT, ILLINOIS -- We had flooring installed in 2 rooms at the end of 2018. Recently the thresholds came off so we called and they came out to fix. When they came out we told them it was wrong. They told us they agree it is wrong but that is the way Lowe's wants them to do it. If we wanted it installed correctly we would have to hire them independently. I have since called Lowe's 5 times with promises to have someone call me or come out to repair. Thus far I have had neither.

Carpet Replacement Install Measurements Increased by 220 Sq Ft.

LEANDER, TEXAS -- I measured an area to be re-carpeted and requested a price from Lowe's. This measurement was confirmed by other bids I had also had and even the contractor that came out to measure for Lowe's. When I asked what he had came up with he confirmed my measurements also but made a statement "I'm not supposed to tell you that." Red Flag immediately went off once said! I got a call from the store about pricing and when I was told the total square foot, the square feet increased by 220. When I brought the actual area up the associate forwarded the bid to me and needless to say. "I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH LOWE'S AGAIN!" Buyer beware and make sure you always measure your project to not be ripped off by crooks like LOWE'S.

Terrible Install Job By TNT Construction

ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS -- We bought vinyl flooring from Lowe's. They had TNT do the installation. First there was a detail done to measure and make sure they could install in the space provided. They tore out the old carpet and began installing vinyl. At the end when all the floor was down they said they couldn't finish the job because the height difference between the new floor and the existing ceramic tile in the kitchen was too large. (over a half inch gap) So he left. I have called Lowe's numerous times to get my issue resolved and nobody has helped me yet. It is now 10 months later and my floors are still unfinished. I'm so frustrated! If you are shopping for new flooring stay away from Lowe's and run in the other direction if TNT construction is involved in your home Reno project.

Don't buy flooring here!

NEWPORT, TENNESSEE -- My husband and I were planning on purchasing carpet from Lowe's in Newport TN for the upstairs in our home and engineered hardwood for a room in our basement. We were excited because they offered free installation including moving of furniture and removal of old carpet. Plus 10 percent off. It sounded great. We had to pay 70$ for someone to come out to measure which we understood we would be refunded with our purchase. This process took a month but that was okay. When we met with Gerry on Saturday to finalize our purchase the price was a lot more than we expected. There were dozens of add ons including extra for the moving of "oversized furniture ". Gerry blamed this completely on the installers but they are paid by Lowe's so that's not an excuse. None of our furniture is oversized. It's just norma furniture. Every bed and dresser in each room were extra. This was cut out and pasted at the bottom of the proposal which was strange also. I honestly think the whole deal was a scam. My husband and I were loyal customers of Lowe's and all of our appliances were purchased there.

Pro-Services - Hardwood Floring Installation

MADISON HEIGHTS, VIRGINIA -- Lowe's installed a floor that almost immediately began to squeak and move. They sent multiple reps to my house only to determine that the issue was an "environmental" problem... Ridiculous! I took the time to bring our two installers (local) and each stated it was not an environmental issue but clearly an installation error. I WOULD NOT in any form ever buy flooring or hire Lowe's to install any product ever! Poor communication, poor product representation, terrible service support and most of all the last representative that was in my house (11/26/18) lied to my face on what Lowe's was going to do to correct the issue - after he said they were to compensate while we were talking on my porch, they changed their story via a phone call... shameful!
