MORGANTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA -- I selected a fire alarm from a box marked as $25 and the cashier was scanning it at $52. The cashier went and selected a second item from the same box and the same thing happened to her. Another cashier got involved reinforcing that I was not getting it for the listed price. After requesting a manager I was told they were not honoring the price on the box so I told them that as a customer I wasted 1 hour of my time and it's a contract when a customer selects an item with a given price.Add reply
Canceled Fridge Purchase
PINEVILLE, LOUISIANA -- Recently purchased a new stainless LG refrigerator from Lowe's in Pineville, LA. The best delivery day we could get was scheduled for an afternoon delivery a week later. The driver called about 10:00 ... read full review1 Replies - Latest reply on 12/09/2013
BROWNSVILLE, TEXAS -- Have not been in a Lowes store in several years. Wife and I decided to look for tile for our condo to be installed the next week. 650 sq ft at a cost of over $1700.00. The funny thing is that we were unable to get any associate to assist us with our purchase. After a half an hour wasted in a store that had few customer we just left. How sad. Went to a competitor, several associates were eager to help. We picked out and purchased our tile in less then 20 minutes. Spoke to several friends they to have had similar experiences at the same Lowes location. Guess a store can't make money if they have no one there to take it from your hand.Add reply
LA QUINTA, CALIFORNIA -- I bought a 60 dollar xmas tree from Lowe's. Lowe's told me it would charge me an additional 80 dollars to deliver it, even though I live about 4 miles from Lowe's. I agreed to the delivery charge. On the evening of my purchase, I got a call from some outfit called 3PD. A recorded message said the tree would be delivered between 6:30 and 8:30 pm on Saturday. Shockingly, I had other plans for that time period on Saturday night. So I held on the phone to talk to an operator.
When I finally got to an operator, she told me that 3PD had a lot of deliveries to make. I told her that was not my concern. She then hung up on me. Tomorrow morning, I will go to Lowe's and cancel my order. I will never shop at Lowe's again. Merry Christmas Lowe's and 3PD!
WILKESBORO, NORTH CAROLINA -- My 4 year old Maytag fridge just stopped cooling the first of November. Lost all my food. A week latter they brought us out a loner fridge. Yes a week later! Found my recite where I purchased the extended warranty. They sent me a card three weeks later. Was not enough to purchase the same kind of fridge I had, so now I now I have a bill. They brought out a fridge. Took them from 4: 15 to 6:00. My husband went down in our basement around that night and water was running throw the floor where the fridge set. The came up stairs pulled the fridge out. Water was pouring out of a hose where the hooked the water and ice up. I called Lowes a night watch answer the phone . He wrote down my name and number. Lowes called at 6am said they would be out by 9:00, never saw them. I called again they finally came out. Said it was a defect and they could fix it, but had to go get parts. They where in and out our home all day my floors are a mess. I just set down and cried. They said they see about reimburse us for all the trouble, but have not seen or heard from them today. Just feed up.Add reply
SOUTHERN PINES, NORTH CAROLINA -- We've replaced 2 fuses already. Now the dryer is overheating no matter what setting we use. The wrinkles are so set in our clothes that we can't get them out. Ironing them at no avail. Therefore, the clothes are ruined. I took the clothes out of the dryer, and they were so hot I had to drop them. I'm afraid of a fire. This is really a fire hazard, and I can't believe there hasn't been a recall. The model number wed7300xwo serial number mI0821811.Add reply
CLOVIS, NEW MEXICO -- Pretty sad that I worked my tail off for Lowe's 3 yrs and also as a Department Manager. I had asked HR in Clovis, NM to help me with an open opportunity to change positions in departments so I could help the mother of my new born son (who is an employee there as well) so I could get a second part time job to help her support my son. HR had a open position in Assembly and gave the job to a gentleman that worked there only 6 months at the time. I had mentioned to the HR about the situation and quote UN-quote was said verbatim "too bad the position is already filled and if you don't like it you can put your resignation in and leave Lowe's". I had told HR I love working there but if they couldn't come up with a solution that I would have to find another job. So basically I was snowballed out of my job at Lowe's in Clovis, NM. To top it off I am close friends with a gentleman that is still there and we had a conversation and he told me he had smoked so much pot he passed out and hit his face on some power equipment and the 2 store assistant managers and HR took his swab for drugs but never sent it in to be tested and is presently working there! What kind of business is LOWE'S running.Add reply
ELK GROVE, CALIFORNIA -- I purchased a Troy-Bilt Rototiller, used it 4 times (approximate 2 hours run time total), on the 5th time it wouldn't start. Took it to Lowe's Elk Grove, CA, (where purchased) for warranty repair. Per the technician, he sprayed "carburetor cleaner" on the carburetor, and it still wouldn't start. Therefore, the carburetor needs replacing because of large debris. And because of the large debris, they consider it a maintenance issue and won't cover the replacement under warranty!
Seriously, how is that maintenance? It was used to till a 10' x 25' garden area 4 times and after each use, placed in the shed. What kind of a $600 rototiller needs a carburetor replacement after 4 hours of use? A defective one, sold at Lowe's, that's what kind! What kind of company does not stand behind its products even under warranty...the kind that won't ever have my business again! They will never see another dime of mine!...HELLO HOME DEPOT!!! And I will continue to post on every review site I can find about this issue!!!!!!
POTTSVILLE, PENNSYLVANIA -- Human resources is supposed to have an open door policy but when you need to speak to HR the door is always closed. Once you knock on the door HR representative comes out yells at you to get back to work without listening to anything you have to say. They fire people after they've worked there for years because they pay them too much. People quit so often I'm surprised corporate has done nothing about it. I quit and gave three weeks notice before leaving. I was then contacted by human resources to come back to work and once I was in I was told to do my computer work and after I was done I was told to wait until HR told me what to do. While I was waiting I was speaking to a another employee who was playing a game on a nearby computer. HR flung their door open and screamed at me to get out on the floor. There was a death in my fiancé's family a day before this happened so I was upset to begin with.
After HR screamed at me for doing absolutely NOTHING wrong I walked out and never came back. I loved working for Lowes. If it weren't for the horrid management I would have stayed. But being in fear constantly of getting literally screamed at for nothing and being in fear of termination I left. This store needs to be looked at. Management should be cleaned out and started fresh. I hope someone contacts me about this because there is so much more going on then what I've spoken of.
PORTLAND, OREGON -- Horrible experience with a bad department, contracted with a worse installer.
Scheduling nightmares: Required 4 visits before the window came. Salesman came to price the window, another salesman came to fill out the contract, installer came to measure the window but made a mistake, had to come to re-measure. That's FOUR times I had to schedule before things even started.
Installation scheduling was worse. Northwest Extreme Installations would call and I would return the call within 5 minutes, only to leave a message. It would take 3-4 days and a call to Lowes before they would call back.
Had to wait 2 weeks for window to get built. Ok.
First install visit - guy brought the wrong window. My wife requested he show her the window prior to starting work. He did not do this - we had a half removed window for the next month while they tried to make it right.
Second install visit - Didn't realize until after he left that they installed the wrong window brand completely. We were quoted high end Milgard and got low end Cascade. Not worth replacing with this terrible group of idiots.
I will never use Lowes installation again. I complained and got $80 for my trouble.
CAPE CARTERET, NORTH CAROLINA -- 1. Ordered a garage door and wanted it installed. Paid for door and installation wait for a week and no one contacted me so I went to the store and they had me phone number wrong after telling them 3 times what it was.
2. Finley after 2 days the contractor called me to inform me that he had been to the house and that it was going to cost me another $150 to install it to Lowes specs. What the hell is with that all I wanted was for them to put it in where the old one is.
3. I went back to the store and told them that it was bull that they couldn't install it in place of the old one because nothing was wrong with the wood. I also told them that it was like going to a doctor or hospital and the insurance co. telling them how to treat me.
4. I will either install it my self or get my money back and have someone else do it because I don't think Lowes will ever make it right and for that reason I will never have them contract anything for me again
RAPID CITY, SOUTH DAKOTA -- I paid $1700 for my Frigidaire refrigerator less than two years ago. I purchased three appliances and the 4 year warranty from Lowes. I thought this was great at first, I even helped my neighbor select her appliances from Lowes. Turns out my stainless Frigidaire appliances look great but the refrigerator parts are plastic and fragile. Two small plastic tabs hold the fronts on the crisper drawers and they snap right off. Turns out the 4 year warranty only covers mechanical issues and Frigidaire does not consider this a quality problem. They will replace my drawer with another cheap plastic drawer for $106 plus shipping.
Buyer beware, check Frigidaire interior parts. Cheap plastic children's toys are sturdier than this.
Worst Management Ever
MERRILLVILLE, INDIANA -- I came into that store weekly as I was fixing my rental house. I spoke with the girl at the paint desk every single day. I stopped seeing her there, but being the voyager she is I thought maybe she ... read full review
EAST RUTHERFORD, NEW JERSEY -- I bought a moderately expensive gas range oven and the components required for installation and set up for delivery, installation, and haul away of my old oven. Spent nearly 45 minutes on the phone arranging delivery and installation to very specifically be on a very specific date as it was my only day off from work for the rest of the month until Thanksgiving when it will be needed.
I was then expecting a call from the delivery company with my window of time for the day in question. After all that, they said that they had it scheduled for another day because "that worked better on their end". Seriously? I am at a complete loss for words on how to respond to that, so I cancelled the order (wasting an additional 30 minutes of my time) and bought a similar unit at Home Depot.
I have given Lowes many chances over the years and only shopped there this time because they are closer than Home Depot. Will not be making that mistake again.
ONLINE SALES, CALIFORNIA -- Second time I'm ordering an appliance from Lowes.com and it will be the last. I tried ordering a fridge online only to find out at the end of the order that the item number was switched by their program to a different item number that is special order. After spending literally 3 hours on and off the phone with 4 different reps finally got the right fridge ordered. They tried to charge me more than the advertised online price. Anyway got the right fridge at the end but the whole process was very frustrating.
DO YOURSELF A FAVOR IF YOU VALUE YOUR TIME. DO NOT ORDER FROM LOWES WEBSITE!!!
LAKE JACKSON, TEXAS -- DO NOT PURCHASE YOUR MAJOR APPLIANCES FROM LOWES!
I purchased a new stacked washer/dryer with an extended 4 year warranty from Lowes on February 2, 2012. 2 weeks ago my washer quit working. I called Lowes to request repair. They scheduled a repair through A&E Factory Service, 8 days out. The A&E repairman called me on his way to my home, asking the problem (which I described to Lowes on my initial call). He immediately replied that it sounded like the mother board needed to be replaced, that this was a common issue, and A&E did not keep these parts in stock and he would have to order it. After diagnosing the problem, just as he suspected, this was the problem. He said he would order the part, which should arrive in 2-3 days, but he could not come back to install it until Nov 2. This means I will be without my washing machine for over 2 weeks. $50 at laundromats since waiting for repairs.
I have sent various emails and made several calls to Lowes expressing my dissatisfaction with their warranty repair service, only getting the run around. Don't waste your money with Lowes.
The female appliance manager was not friendly at all. When asked a question she acted as if I wasn't even there and never answered me. She actually needs to be replaced. Went back today and spoke to two gentlemen John & Paul and they were extremely helpful. I will never deal with the woman again, I will bypass her or leave the store if there is nobody else around to deal with. Add reply
ORCHARD PARK, NEW YORK -- I was shopping with my 85 yr old mother when she told me she had an accident. So, I walked her to the ladies room. Soon after, one of the female employees told me she had talked to my mother and she was having a rough time of it. She told me she would watch over her while I ran to the store to get some supplies for her. I was not gone long and came back to freshen my mother up. I thanked the female employees who looked over my mother. They were very helpful and so kind. I look back on my experience there and have a really GREAT feeling about it.
GOD BLESS THOSE WHO LOWES EMPLOYEES!

MOUNT JULIET, TENNESSEE -- I purchased some asphalt sealer last year from Lowes. The sealer started to peel and flake within days. Within one month I asked a store clerk on have to get a customer satisfaction refund. He did a claim for Black Jack sealer with Black Jack refusing the claim.

The container states on the side money back for customer satisfaction, Lowe's isn’t allowing me to return the containers for a full refund.
