Awful Customer Service

LAS VEGAS -- I wish I could give a 0. The rudeness of the manager determines this rating. We dropped our car off for an overall paint job. A few days later, they called to tell us our car was complete. When we showed up the roof was not painted the overall color we selected. The GM tried to argue that the paperwork did not say to paint the roof, and it needed to be black like the sunroof and windows! According to the paperwork, it stated, "Overall Color Change!" He told me that if I wanted the roof painted I should have told them. I told him to paint the roof and we left. Later that afternoon, he called to tell me he was going to do me a favor by painting the roof and next time we should clarify what we want. When I argued that the paperwork said, "Overall Color Change" he said, "The car was different colors when it arrived so we only painted the body." That is why we took our car to them. We wanted it all one color. I will NEVER do business with this location again. Worst attitude ever. I have two more vehicles to be painted. Please look elsewhere if you do not like to be treated like garbage.

Will not honor warranty

COLORADO SPRINGS, MASSACHUSETTS -- Paint began failing after only two years. Was a year before it became so bad I reported it to MAACO who did the job. They dragged their feet so I took it to corporate in Charlotte, NC, who also dragged their feet. Finally got BBB involved who lit a fire under them.

Truck was eventually repainted in year 4 of 5 year warranty so I had to pay prorated share. They tried to prorate based on 4 years but I fought it back to 2. Was supposed to extend warranty by a couple years too. Sadly, even THAT paint job failed in 12 months! Trying to resolve AGAIN but same story. It's been 5 months already. No resolution and poor communication! Claiming there was no extension of warranty EVEN THOUGH I paid a pro-rated share!

Names of those I attempted to communicate with: Joe (owner!), Mike Reece (mgr/estimator), Jacqueline Woodson (corporate customer svc), Katherine Ortiz (corporate customer scv), and a half dozen others in a call center outside the US.

In January I will take them to small claims court.

STAY AWAY!!!

MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE -- Only needed a quote. Arrived and the female behind the desk advised sign-in. Asked how long? One other person who currently was being helped by an older female.Well, asked if someone else was available, she replied that she doesn't do quotes. She only check in vehicles and proceeded to continue what she was doing. She wasn't remotely interest in helping and quite content. If you have time to wait, you'll be fine. But first impression was lasting for me. If you can't display or show the importance of every potential customer who walks through your establishment, you don't deserve my business. Customer beware.

Horrible Paint Job

MELBOURNE, FLORIDA -- Before I decide it to bring my car to Maaco Auto Painting shop, I was kind of a skeptical about bring it there because I heard a lot of negative reports about Maaco. Last week I brought my 2007 Kia Rio LX for a paint job, after the job was completed I picked my car and brought it home, not even realizing that they did a horrible job, I paid $609.00 for a decent paint job and what they did looks like $100.00 paint job. The car was not even sanded the way it was suppose to. I am really disappointed and now I realized that negative reports I was aware about were true and legit. I will never recommend any of Maaco shops to anyone, they take your money and do a very crappy service.

WHITTIER, CALIFORNIA -- I needed a new coat of paint on my 1995 GMC Sierra 1500 pick-up truck at the lowest price possible... spring sale at MAACO WAS THE PLACE TO GO!!!! 299.00 plus 100.00 extra due to it being an SUV/PICK-UP was the best price out there. Sales Person, JASON was great at explaining all the options. I just wanted a paint job "AS IS" and so be it. 3 days later I got to pick it up and WOW!!! Did it look great. THANK YOU "MAACO" and thank you JASON. I even Left my 1979 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme behind so it could look as great as my truck... for 100.00 dollars cheaper. Can't wait til I pick it up. Stay tuned for review update on the Cutlass?

MOORESVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA -- I went in on a Thursday for estimate and was welcomed right away. I was in and out within 15 minutes and they were very friendly and courteous. I took my van back a week later. They even called me to ask if I wanted my bumper sticker taken off or just left on, they were very thorough. I dropped it off on a Monday and picked it up on Thursday. My van looked fantastic. When I went to pick up my van, I again walked right in, paid exactly what was quoted and walked out within 15 minutes. It could not have been any easier. The paint job is beautiful, the price was very reasonable and I am a highly satisfied customer. I would recommend it and give it a 5 star rating.

Above My Expectations

TAMPA -- Macco on Anderson Rd Tampa. I have a 1999 Toyota Camry that had front end damage and severely worn paint. They gave me an estimate which was below what I expected it to be. They were extremely respectful and courteous and communicative. I was told it would 5 days to complete the work. On day 5 the manager called said he was not 100% pleased with how the hood turned out and asked if he could have 1 more day to have it redone. I agreed.

When I picked it up it, I was thrilled with the high quality of the work, it looked factory original. This is now months later and every time I look at my car I am so happy with the results they gave me. I would highly recommend to family and friends. Could not be happier.

Car Painting and Repair

Rating: 5/51

TACOMA, WASHINGTON -- I took 2 cars in to be painted. One an older car, the other a relatively newer car that was in good shape except for some damage to the right fender. I was extremely pleased with the whole experience on both cars. They came in at the estimate that they gave. They did a good job. They were very caring and concerned to make certain that the cars left with the highest resale value possible. I am not selling the cars, but it was great to know that they were concerned with this aspect. If I ever need to have another car painted or if I know someone that needs their car painted I would definitely refer them to the MAACO in Tacoma.

Don't Go Back For A Minor Item

Car is a 94 Honda del Sol, clear coat peeling. I stripped the car; bumpers lights, mirrors, door skirts, door handles and put them in the trunk. It took about a week and got the top end paint job, base coat then clear coat, also the original color.

I must say, the car came out nice. There was some unfinished drips on the rear window sails. I asked them to redo those two small areas, 12x6x8 triangle pieces. The manager said fine, but the worker was unhappy. When I got it back I realized I should have left it as it was. They over-sprayed the roof & trunk and made the sails worse than before. No, I did not go back because I knew the outcome. Also, there was quite a bit of orange peel on the car but I was expecting that.

Six months later, the car is in a detail shop being wet-sanded to finish the job properly. Bottom line: a decent paint shop for the money, strip everything you can off before sending it in. If you see a minor imperfection... WALK AWAY, just WALK AWAY!

Terrible

ROANOKE, VIRGINIA -- I replaced the whole front end on my car and had it painted from another body shop before I took it to Maaco. I had just bought the car and it was in the body shop longer than it was home for minor body repair. I was promised and promised my car on this day and that day. Not until I stopped and inquired about it did they rush and paint it. Had to take it back once for redoing and when I received it back, the paint job was good except 2 places on the front fender that has trash in the paint and stuck out like a sore thumb.

When I showed this, the comment was, "you can go to any body shop and there will be trash in the paint." How would anybody stay in business? Needless to say, I have had 2 previous cars painted at Maaco (not this shop) and never had this problem. I would not recommend them to anyone.
