NEW YORK -- I recently bought Maybelline Great Lash mascara (pink tube, green top). After 1 application my eyelids became itchy. I took an antihistamine and applied cortisone cream. The next morning my eyes were swollen, the skin under my eyes was crepey and I had welts on my cheekbones. Relief came after several days on prednisone. Keep away from this product!!!
MANITOWOC, WISCONSIN -- I have always bought define a brow eyebrow pencil. Now you've changed it. I hate it. It's a waste of money. You can't get it to sharpen enough to do a fine line. I breaks off all the time, so that's a waste. Please bring back define a brow in dark brown. Loyal customer. I buy all Maybelline products.
LEWISVILLE, TEXAS -- I saw commercials on Instant Rewind. I wanted to try it. Thought it was like a concealer. I tried and tried to get the makeup to come out of the bottle. It never came out. I took it back to Walgreen's. After reading another review, I am glad I did not use it.
I have used different maybelline products over the past 30 years. This is the first time that one of the products actually I think I may be allergic to. I put on the colossal volume express waterproof mascara and it looked nice to begin with but within about one hour my eye area started to feel warm until it turned into a burning sensation all around my eye area. I removed the mascara within 2 hours and the burning sensation continued on.
I am not allergic to anything that I am aware of and have used Maybelline products for several years. This is the first time I ever had a reaction but ouch it was very uncomfortable. Maybe it was a bad batch? I know it was the mascara because that was the only new product on my face. I hope maybelline products gets this information.
I went to buy some refills for my eyelash curler and all they had were the black ones so I tried them. They are terrible. They don't fit into the curler properly because they pop out on one side and do not curl my eyelashes properly. Please bring back the white eyelash curler refills. I've looked everywhere to purchase them and I can't find them. Help!!!
I have bought the black eyelash curler refills and find that they are too soft to do any good. No matter how long I hold the eyelashes in the curler and squeeze as hard as I can, the eyelashes are barely curled. The old white ones were made of a harder material and when you used the eyelash curler with them, your eyelashes were curled and in much less time.
NEW YORK, NEW YORK -- Recently I decided to surprise my wife by attempting to buy her some eye shadow for her birthday, something she surely wouldn't expect me to do. I "researched" to find out what products she liked by cleaning the bathroom (this also surprised her). Noting that she was low on eye shadow I went down and got some. When she opened it we found there was no applicator in the box. Since none of the boxes I saw had them I thought this was how they were sold. My wife explained that the product comes with applicators. I e-mailed Maybelline explaining my situation.
In less than 4 hours a customer service representative e-mailed me back asking for the name and address of the store I'd gotten the product from so they could correct the problem. Additionally, she offered me two coupons ($5 each) for my trouble. Since the eye shadow was only about $9, I accepted the offer and within 5 days the coupons arrived in the mail. The representative also said that if I wanted advise on cosmetics for my wife in the future I could always e-mail them for some advise.
A nice personal touch, but next time I'm sticking to the usual normal roses, dinner, and jewelry for her birthday (I gave her some sapphire earrings this time and she said that something like that is enough - no extra surprises necessary!) Maybelline gave excellent customer service here. They promptly responded to a problem, satisfied the customer, and built some customer loyalty for themselves. My wife also went down to pick up some more cosmetics at the store where I got the shadow (Target, Homestead, PA) and noted that the boxes without applicators had been replaced.
I too have gone through many refills on the eyelash curler and am frustrated. They aren't long enough nor are they thick enough anymore. I have had the same curler for 30 years and until recently have never had any problems. Not until I looked at where they are now made - too bad we can't get American made products anymore; at least they fit and worked right!
TROUTVILLE, VIRGINIA -- I've used Maybelline products since I was a young teenager. I am now in my 50's and for the first time have a complaint. When I purchased new refills for my eyelash curler, they didn't fit. Thinking perhaps I needed a new curler, I went back and purchased one of those. Nope, the refills didn't fit it either. Next time I went to the store I purchased new refills thinking it was a fluke that they didn't fit... NOPE... still didn't fit. I've tried 4 different pkgs of refills. They are the black refills and they are too short and not thick enough for the curler.
I stuff them in and after release on the curler, they come out as I release, so each time I compress the curler, I'm having to reset the pad. They also squeeze the lashes funny creating a weird curl! Amazingly, I found that when inserted upside down they "work" better as far as the curl, but they still fall out upon release.
Anyone else having this problem? I called Maybelline, but got nowhere except that they would record the complaint. So, if you are having this problem, please call. Hopefully the more complaints they have, they will see the need to improve. The phone # is 1-800-944-0730.
