Do Not Purchase the Maytag Washer Model #MVWC200XW1
By -

MICHIGAN -- You know I am so mad I could dump this washer on your doorstep. Built strong to last, who are you kidding. This washer has not worked since I bought it. The service man has been here six times already and I still have no washer to wash my clothes. I will never ever buy another Maytag and I certainly will tell all my friends and the world about your product and service and reliability. First, it had to have a whole new transmission put into it. Now I'm sure it is the electrical circuitry system, because it does nothing it is supposed to do when you set it for washing. That is all goofed up. Tell me who puts your products together. Do they read English.

I remember your commercial a long time ago that said the loneliest service man was a Maytag serviceman. Well, that certainly has changed hasn't it? You get no satisfaction from you or for that matter the place where I bought it, Menards. We wanted to take it back and they wouldn't take it back and you just tell the people to get a service technician, and buy an extended warranty. Tell me is there no more pride in companies. Does anyone in the world care. I am disgusted with this washer.

Bravos... I Hate My Washer
By -

I hate this washer. Traded my Whirlpool frontload for this!!! It does not give you enough water to wash a load and I have to spend about 5/10 minutes working to untangle my twisted/knotted items. If you wash long sleeve shirts and sleep PJ's in the same load you have a real puzzle... not good. Forget about a comforter! Not going to happen. We are now going to use quilts and electric blankets. Doesn't sound like energy saving to me. Just give me an old fashion washer and allow me to control the water level, speed and temp... If I need to use really hot water... I expect to be able to do that!!!

If I am out in the garden and get my clothes are really dirty I should be able to select a water level to fit the load condition... NO, NO, NO... "THEY" know better. This thing controls my life and I hate it!!! I will be dumping this washer (new 1/2010) and find a good old fashion machine that will allow me to decide how I want to do my laundry... on Craigslist. I am so sorry I bought this machine.

I Am Very Dissatisfied With The Maytag Bravo Washer
By -

I have had problems with it after only having it for 3 months. I have had 3 service men from 2 different companies to my home and have made numerous phone calls to the customer care center with no success of having this washer replaced. My clothes have what looks like oil streaks on them and my whites are now a dark grey and can not be cleaned. Also, my clothes come out of the washer the same way I put them in there and one leg on pants are always completely dry and haven't even been washed with all the dirt still intact on the pants. After a recent call to customer service the supervisor told me he would send me a check for 50 dollars to go to the laundromat..

Seriously! This is customer service?! They have extended my warranty twice giving me an extra year. I was told the warranty only covers repairs and not returns. I would think it would be cheaper for Maytag to replace my washer than to continually replace parts.

This last service guy that came out is now replacing the outer plastic bin, the inner basket, the water pump and hoses. The first company replaced the water leveling valve. That leaves only the outer shell of the washer that needs replacing... Hmmm, sounds like I got a defective product and they don't care. I would never recommend Maytag Bravos if it were the last washer on earth!!!

Even President's Office Won't Help, Deplorable Customer Service
By -

INDIANA -- I wish I had read this site before I purchased any Maytag products. Having problems with Washer and can't get satisfaction from Customer Service. I even called the President's office Ralph Hake 641-787-8210, and they could not get me the help I requested. His Rep Carma called me back and said she would help, but in the end she did not or would not. I am back to square one. I have had a tech visit 4 times so far for the same problem, and the last time he came out after completely dismantling my washer told me he had the wrong part. He wanted to reschedule me again, and I freaked.

I had already taken more time off work than should have been necessary. He said he would come out tomorrow at the end of his day. I told him I wanted to be first on his workload and he said he couldn't reschedule his customers. No, but he could do whatever he wanted to me. Apparently my customerness does me no good. I called the President's office and the long and short of it is they could not get me 1st on his workload. I will be last, if he gets to me.

Please do not purchase Maytag products. I have since reported to the Better Business Bureau, where they are already on a list of companies that do not respond to complaints. Please spread the word. I feel sorry for anyone that has to deal with this. Right now I feel sorry for me...

Do Not Buy Maytag Washer

SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA -- I purchased a Maytag washer in Oct 2013 and almost straight away it had issues with the "door locked" light flashing on the front of the washer even when the door was open. I contacted the company and they told me to unplug it and start over... and admitted themselves this was only a temporary fix. I asked them to replace the washer as it was brand new but they refused. The washer also leaves powder in the dispenser and over the clothes - a fault that has been reported by other customers.

They suggested this was my fault by leaving the powder box under the sink... which I don't. Their customer service was appalling and their inability to resolve a problem on a brand new machine has left me feeling angry and ripped off. This washer cost over $750. I will never buy Maytag again.

Don't Buy This Washer

I want my old 17-year-old Maytags back! I just purchased a Maytag top loader Centennial washer and a dryer. I still have the dryer even though it sticks out about 8 inches farther from the wall than my old Maytag. I live in a condo where space is precious! Did anybody at Maytag consider the design of this thing? I sent back the washer. I don't want to annoy my neighbors who are on the other side of the wall. I have never heard a washer that is so noisy. And the vibrations lead me to believe that it is true that the life expectancy of it is about five years. I don't think there's any washer that would stand up to that amount of movement and vibration.

I'm 73 years old and had planned on these Maytags being the last washer/dryer I would ever buy. And I was happy that the stickers on the machines said that they were made in the USA. I had loved my old machines and assumed the new ones would be even better. No such luck! I purchased an LG for about the same price and LOVE it! Guess those Koreans know what they're doing. How sad!

Maytag Washer Nightmare

POTSDAM, NEW YORK -- I bought a Maytag washer from Lowell's almost two years ago, and I have been having problems with this washer ever since. This is the second repair of this washer. Maytag advertises that you will have peace of mind that Maytag will fix your washer 24/7 if your washer breaks down under their extended service warranty. What a bunch of **.

I called under my plan and they will not even try to have a "service provider" fix the problem. They tell me that they can't find a service provider in my area. Why did they sell me this warranty if they don't have a service provider in the area? Also, I got this washer fixed the year before by one of their service providers, but they seem not to have one this year. I've complained to just about everyone you could complain to and I am getting nowhere. I am seriously considering a professional complaint service to resolve this problem.

Bad Bearing - Great Help

ALTOONA, PENNSYLVANIA -- Our Maytag washer recently started making a lot of noise during the spin cycle. I was able to determine that the bearing on the drum is bad. My washer is 5 years old and I was very pleasantly surprised when I contacted Maytag. While the first woman I spoke to said there was nothing they could do for me because it was out of warranty the supervisor I spoke to immediately asked what she could do to help me with this problem.

When I said if you get me the parts I will do the repair she ordered them and they are on their way. She also informed me that part of the problem is the use of non H.E. detergent and using too much detergent. THANK YOU MAYTAG!!!

We bought this washer less than a year ago and have numerous complaints including: 1) load capacity 2) deepness of tub 3)time to run cycle and most recently 4) leaks oil onto our clothes. This Maytag replaced another Maytag washer we had owned for over 25 years but could no longer get parts for. We had been warned by the repairman that Maytag wasn't the same company and he was right. It is a disgrace that the name is put on the appliance because it is not anything like the original Maytags. I am ready to just junk it but hate to pay out again for another washer.

What Happened to Maytag Quality?

ROCKFORD, ILLINOIS -- I have been a faithful Maytag buyer for many many years, but when my old Maytag washing machine started making some noise, I decided to buy a new Maytag. The first one I purchased was a water saver version which I did not intentionally buy. But when I began using it it took so long to wash a load that my wife hated it. And it cost me an extra $150.00 (restocking fee) to return the machine and purchase the Centennial non water saving version, but this machine still sucks. It takes way too long to wash, it is very touchy when it spins and the lid lock has already went out and the machine is only a year old.

My wife hates this machine too, but I am not replacing it yet. As I said earlier, I always purchase nothing but Maytag appliances since my wife and I bought our house 26 years ago. But after buying this washing machine I will not be buying Maytag anymore and I do not recommend the brand to anyone who is in the market for new appliances.
