HOUSTON, TEXAS -- Absolutely unacceptable product experience. Bought new in July & already had 2 service calls for same problem in first 4 months of ownership. In-door ice dispenser sprays ice all over the room when you try to fill a glass, & then the door-flap to the ice-dispenser does not close automatically, as it should, so the ice melts & drips through the unit & onto the floor. 1st service repairman said he fixed it, but didn't. 2nd repairman replaced the motor to the flap, but the ice still does not stay solid, & the bottom freezer unit does not even keep ice cream frozen solid Repairman says (quote): "Freezers cannot keep ice cream frozen solid because of the high sugar content". Really? Our 12 year old unit keep it solid as a rock, so perhaps Jenn-Air should share their product knowledge with Maytag. We have also received a notice from the repair company, that Whirlpool, which handles warranty work for Maytag, has refused to pay for the first repair call, claiming the ice make door-flap was not covered under the warranty. Will never buy another appliance with the name Maytag on it, even though we "thought" it was supposed to be a quality company.Add reply
LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS -- We purchased this washer and dryer when our Kenmore (which lasted 16 years) finally went out. The washer would dance across the room and vibrate the walls during the spin cycle. We purchased a pedestal thinking that would help and of course it did not. The had to pay for a vibration kit on the washer and the it still vibrates like crazy. The dryer takes forever to dry a load of clothes. We recently have had the dryer worked on 4 times and it continues to blow the thermostat.
I think it's ridiculous for the cost of these appliances to have these kind of problems. This is my first Maytag product and it will be my last!!!
Every time we wash our clothes, we get the clothes out with oil spots. I spent a lot of money on these appliances, and I'm not happy at all. Sounds like with all the complaints of the same problem, the Maytag company has a lot to explain. I'm searching further to find more unhappy people, and find out if we have some sort of recourse.
Obviously it's a problem they should address if they are a reputable company.
EL PASO, TEXAS -- Please stay away from Maytag. They will cheat you out of a rebate of all means necessary. First, they claimed that I didn't submit the receipt even though I included the email with the order number and the delivery receipt. Second, I faxed the email with the order number again and they claimed that they didn't receive it and denied the rebate. Once again, beware of this company's tactics involving rebates.Add reply

BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA -- The Maytag Air Conditioner we purchased works great when it is running. It is designed with a poor quality/under rated capacitor that fails regularly. It never seems to fail when it is cool but it waits until it is going to be 105 degrees for several days. It is a quick fix, if the contractor has it in stock. Now after a few short years the blower motor has gone bad. Again, over 100 degrees for several days in a row and no one seems to have it in stock! If you are going to sell a product, why don't you have major parts in stock locally?
Overall, we are not satisfied with this product and would not purchase or recommend Maytag Air Conditioners.
Bearing on Maytag Washer Bad

ALABAMA -- I purchased a Maytag because I thought they never needed repairs. Well boy was I wrong! About 3 months after we purchased our washer, we started having problems. It would not complete a cycle, it would not spin out clothes, it might take hours for the cycle to finish, if it did decide to finish. Thats it....called the first time, a repair person came out and ordered a part that took 3 weeks to come in. Now this is a new machine and I am having to go wash my clothes at a laundry mat because they don't have the part! This is not right!

Finally was fixed, but just for a short time. It started doing the same things again. Someone came out and fixed it, costing around $200.00. Again it worked for a few months and it has started back doing it's same old stuff! Put a load on 3 days ago and it still has not spun out the water. We restarted the load numerous times and it still has not worked!!! Going tomorrow to buy yet another washing machine, but I promise you it will NOT be a MAYTAG!!! Hope this helps someone not make the same mistake that we made.
MADISON, WISCONSIN -- Exactly one week after the one year warranty ran out my Freezer quit working. Everything is running but it will not cool and I lost a freezer full of food. I called Maytag and no surprise they were unhelpful and would do nothing except try and sell me a one year extended warranty for $257.00!!!!!
I will never buy another Maytage appliance ever again!! The quality is shabby and they don't seem to care. I also wonder about the rumor of Home Depot selling Maytag seconds???? I bought it at Home Depot.
I have had this going on 5 years now and no problems until it quit heating up .I am thinking of the heating element so go to Maytag to check it out. The gentleman check it out for me. He called back said it was fine. Did the same thing with the thermostat and fuse.

All were fine he said .The repairman came for about 20 minutes said it was the thermostat .So who's lying now?
I had a 34 day old Maytag Fridge Model M1TXE6MYW01. The compressor went bad. I called customer service, 48 hours later a repairman came to my home to repair this Fridge, said it needed a new compressor. 3 days later when the compressor arrived the tech said the fridge is unrepairable, due to other leaks in the hoses and leaking seal inside of cabinet of the fridge. How nice, its over 30 days old the Home depot won't return it and I am stuck now what do I do? I will never buy a Maytag product again. I will be calling my charge card to deny payment on this piece of junk.2 Replies - Latest reply on 06/27/2013Add reply
