Wrong Furniture Received 7/3 Still Waiting for Replacement 8/29

BENSALEM, PENNSYLVANIA -- Ordered furniture on 6/8/2019. Delivered on 7/3/2019 but wrong color loveseat was delivered. Ordered completely new loveseat and sofa on 7/24/2019. Here we are 8/29/2019 and we still haven't received new furniture. They are now saying it will not be in until the end of September. We have called customer service several times. We spoke with “corporate” office. Everyone keeps saying they will “handle” it but we haven't heard from ANYONE yet. The receipts were both dated with the original date of 6/8/2019. Original salesman is no longer there. The salesman's name is not on receipt (two different names are there).

We have sent a complaint to the Better Business Bureau and today we called the FTC and gave them a complaint. I would never recommend that anyone go to Mealey's. We are supposed to have no finance charges for six months but they are going brace to the original purchase date. We put down a deposit of $500 and made 2 payments already. We are thinking of returning all the furniture (living room and bedroom sets). But we would also want a full refund. It would also be nice to get extra for all the aggravation. Lol.

Terrible Experience From the Start and Still No End

WARMINSTER -- I went in for a “sale”. Advertising was very misleading. To even use a credit card, they told me I have to spend $699. Ordered furniture, told 2-6 weeks for delivery, which in this day and age is ridiculous. Then got a call from a very condescending and rude “customer service” representative to inform me of a slight delay of an additional 4-6 weeks.

Called corporate customer service who also gave me a runaround. Couldn't tell me where it was coming from or why it's so late but did tell me if I canceled the order, there would be a restocking fee. How can they dare to charge a restocking fee for something that's not even in stock?? Preposterous!!! No apologies, no explanation, no furniture, and no hope. Do not buy from Mealey's in Warminster. They have poor service, and poor process. I've rarely seen a more disreputable business.

Worst Furniture Buying Experience

MOORESTOWN, NEW JERSEY -- This was the worst experience with any store that I have ever had. From the moment that they cashed my check there has been nothing but trouble with this store. They did not deliver all the furniture that I paid for (a twin mattress was missing) & when I checked later they told me that they don't deliver accessories (I purchased a rug) so I had to go to the store to pick that up, but they didn't put aside so the rug that I wanted was no longer at store.

The twin mattress that was missing is no longer stocked so they wanted $200 more for a replacement. My wife went down the street and got a better mattress for much less than they wanted. The delivery men who brought furniture were rude and unhelpful, my wife is disabled and I am partially disabled but they could not help us move old furniture at all and were standing outside taking pictures of us moving furniture out of the house. I would never recommend this store for anyone looking for furniture.

BAIT & SWITCH

MOORESTOWN, NEW JERSEY -- Purchased a desk with a hutch for my wife. The desk that they delivered was from the right manufacturer, but the desk I ordered in the store had drawers on each side. The desk they delivered had NO drawers.
They assured me they would make it right and replace with the proper desk. Nothing but excuses and NO replacement desk as of yet. It was delivered on July 12th.
Delivery of the incorrect desk was a classic case of bait and switch. At first they wanted me to pay an additional $250 for the other desk. After I visited Sam in the store I was told there would be no additional charge.

Also purchased a Whiskey Barrel dining room table with 4 barstools. Barstools were not assembled properly by Mealey's delivery team. Again nothing but promises to have someone come and repair the chairs.

WOULD NOT PURCHASE FROM THEM AGAIN. BUYER BEWARE.

Poor Customer Service - No Follow Up, Terrible Quality Product

WHITEHALL, PENNSYLVANIA -- Couch was delivered with scratches. The support in the couch was very weak and when the tech came out to inspect it they said Mealeys would call me back within 72 hours to determine if it was covered under warranty or not. Two weeks later never received a phone call. I had to call back and find out the report said it was customer caused and not covered. The couch was less than a year old and barely used. Terrible customer service and quality of the furniture. Will never purchase from Mealeys again and have nothing good to say about the company.

Sales Associate Lied To Us To Make A Sale

DEVON, PENNSYLVANIA -- We were told that if we bought the sectional and then got home to measure and if the measurements did not work out that we could just call over the phone to cancel the order and get our refund back on our credit card. Well we measured and found out that this sectional would not fit in our living and tried to call and get a refund and they said, "No you have to come back into the store to get your refund."

We were misled to believe the opposite by the Sales Associate and felt betrayed and lied to so that the salesperson could make their commission of the night! My boyfriend ended up having to drive all the way back out there to get his refund back on his credit card. Not a very satisfied customer at all. We will not be back.

Poor Quality And Ineffective Service Department

WARMINSTER, PENNSYLVANIA -- HORRIBLE QUALITY-HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! 4 living room tables delivered approx. 4 weeks after order. Contacted store the night of delivery to indicate problem with veneer surfaces coming off and inoperable drawer. 3 of 4 pieces. Repair service was suppose to contact me within 24-48 hrs. 2 weeks later, once again after finally getting through to the service dept. someone was going to call me back that night to schedule, and they laughed when I asked tonight or another 2 weeks.

No. They said tonight. Still have not received a call. After spending 2 grand for tables a little effort on their part would be expected. Furniture looks good if you DON'T USE IT OR GET TOO CLOSE!!! Soon I expect to be protesting outside the store on the horrible quality and service...1 star rating is the least this site will accept.

Customer Service and Quality Is Awful

MOORESTOWN, NEW JERSEY -- We had made a purchase at the end of October. We were never told that our items were not in stock and would have to be ordered. That was the first problem. We then were told that our table and chairs would come in mid-November. However this did not happen. We received it at the beginning of December. We received our furniture outside of the 6 week window and the only compensation that they were willing to give us was $215 off our bill and $100 gift card to the store.

We will never purchase anything from Mealey's again with their terrible customer service. I love our furniture but they could care less if they communicated to us anything about our order. I don't even think we got the $215 off our order nor did I ever receive a gift card from them. Of course there is no corporate number to call. Either to reach someone higher than the store manager at that particular store.

WHITEHALL, PENNSYLVANIA -- Purchased a living room set and also the warranty on the furniture. I never used the warranty and was told last year I would receive a gift card in the mail for the value of the warranty I did not use. I had never received a card but was told by this snooty customer service representative that it was sent to me. Don't you think I would have known? FYI make sure if you do not use your warranty and they offer you store credit, make sure you get it. Also, the sectional I purchased there for $800 I found the same sectional at BIG LOTS for $200 less... same brand. This store is well overpriced. Do your homework.

Used to Be the Best, Now They Are a Nightmare

FAIRLESS HILLS, PENNSYLVANIA -- I bought thousands of dollars of furniture in the past but when I went back earlier this year I discovered that the company had been acquired. The old Mealey's always had stock, knowledge sales people and great customer service people. Now, they lie to you about what they have in stock to get an order and they don't care.

At one point I told them that if I didn't get an honest delivery date that I was going to stand outside the store and tell people not to go in because they are nothing but liars. If they had told me 6 weeks I would have waited but to tell me the shipment will be there in a week and then it's 6 weeks it ridiculous and just wrong. I so disappointed in them. I will never go back and I doubt they will be in business much longer with this kind of service.
