This company will not answer their phone when it rings or their line is busy. Plus, they have not responded to two emails. This is my first attempt at using their service after paying over $1,300 for a three year warranty agreement. Their service is non-esistent. I hope I can cancel and get my money back. This company appears to be quite good at ripping people off. 1 Replies - Latest reply on 05/27/2009Add reply
I switched from my previous home protection because they increased their price. This company promised the the world including a $50 gift card from Home Depot. I was on hold yesterday for 40 minutes and finally gave up. I e-mailed them my problem and still no reply. Lessons learned, if it sounds to good it probably isn't. It's back to my old company for me. KILLEEN, TEXAS -- I was given 3 different contractors. The first said they have a past due balance from last year so they won't come out. The second won't work on a Kenmore. The third say National Home Protection does not pay their bill so they refuse to work for them. After that there were no more contractors to call a week now no frig...
I called to complain was forwarded to an answering machine we should make a class action suit against this rip off company.
NEW JERSEY -- I am new customer with national homebuyer protection service. I have left three emails regarding my account. As of today I have not receive a return call. The reps refuse to let me speak to a supervisor they hang up in your face. This has happen 4 times today 5/8/09.
They promised a $50.00 Gift card. I have not received it nor will they talk to me about it. I will be contacting consumer fraud. I will not be treated badly by these people. They are rude and nasty. The worst part about this matter I have not call for any service yet. If I am treated this way now, how will they treated me when I need there service I am getting rid of these nasty people right now.
DALLAS, TEXAS -- This company is conducting business in the State of Texas ILLEGALLY. I was unaware that the Attorney General of Texas has ordered this company to stop doing business in Texas.

I purchased this warranty service two years ago, last November I placed a claim for my dishwasher. The company sent out a repair person who said the unit needed to be replaced. I was offered a new dishwasher or $127.00 in compensation. When I said I wanted a new dishwasher I was told the unit was on back order for 16 weeks, I said ok I would wait. 16 weeks later they still had not delivered the dishwasher..
My Air-conditioning unit went out and they pulled the same stunt. They required documentation that I had been servicing the units properly.. I sent them two years of documentation, only to have them ask for me to send it to three different numbers.
I then agreed to a settlement on the dishwasher and naturally got nothing.. These folks are thieves and I would never use them for anything.
[no solicitations please]
OLIVE BRANCH, MISSISSIPPI -- Back last year August of 2008 I received a call from NHP asking me if I wanted to settle for a buyout of 189.00 or a new washing machine. I've had my washer fixed twice under the warranty. I told them ... read full review2 Replies - Latest reply on 05/04/2009
I purchased a 5 year home protection warranty from this company and am attempting to file a claim. I have been on hold for greater than 60 minutes on more than 2 occasions. The first person I spoke to gave me incorrect information and the second was very unprofessional and actually hung up on me.
I have yet to get anywhere with this company.
This company does not answer their phones. The $250 that I did not receive in home depot card. I paid this company 1649.60 For five years service. That started 9/25/08 thru 9/25/2013. I need help. Add reply
ROCKLIN, CALIFORNIA -- For everyone who currently has this company in Ca as your provider, I think they just went under. There has been no answer for a week at their end, the fax is not in service and today there is a recording that the person for that number is not available. I bought a multi-year policy and will need to see what I can do now to recover my year that I have now been scammed out of.
These guys were the worst, and I would not have renewed with them even if they had stayed in business, but I understand why they are not.
NEW YORK -- We have been a service provider for this home warranty company for some time now. They do not pay their bills. We have been on numerous calls for them in which they never have paid. They do not return phone calls and typically you cannot get through to anyone, only voice mail. DO NOT PURCHASE a warranty through this company. You will be very disappointed. There is a voice mail on their phone which is so generic.
It says they will open back up "tomorrow" but does not give a date. I believe they are going out of business if they are already not closed.
This company is in business of stilling your money not fixing you home appliances. They are impossible to contact and they will refuse any claim under false pretense.
Do not get ripped off!
LAKE BLUFF, ILLINOIS -- When I first bought the policy, I was told if I purchase for 3 years at once, I will get 3 $50 certificates. Any way they lied to me and I never got the certificates after very long negotiations with the agents through phone calls and emails and they did not refund my money even though I asked for it. I called 3 days ago to file a claim regarding a disconnected electric connection to the refrigerator and 3 more lights. I was told that I will get an email with a contractor phone # to call within 5 hours from that phone call. I did not receive any email. I called the next day and I was told that I will receive that email within 1 hour. Again, I did not receive the email. I called the next day (3 days in a row)checking the status, I was told that they are experiencing some technical problems and I will receive that email within 1 hour.

But guess what, they are lying and I did not receive any thing or any service. I'm so upset and I don't know what to do next. I have a feeling that they just stole my money.
This company is out of control. They promise to pay $50 Gift card from Home Depot but they never do. They keep dragging until you forget about it. I strongly suggest not to buy any coverage from them as they are also very slow to respond the authorization of any work.

The only thing they care is to get the premium from consumer...
NORTH CAROLINA -- For those of whom are considering doing business with this company: they have failed to pay us for several invoices, claiming that the work performed was not faxed in a timely manner. It was and has been sent several times after the first initial submission in order to resolve the issue. However, when we try to contact someone in order to arrange payment due, the call-takers are short and rude; often hanging up or leaving us on hold. Also, it is my understanding that the ownership of this organization is under investigation for fraudulent business practices.
Either way, we have yet to get this issue resolved and have been working on it since June 2008. Best advice? Avoid these crooks at all cost.
NY, NEW YORK -- Much like other's experiences with National Home Protection they is no "resting easy knowing we are covered" with national home protection. I have been without heat for 9 days and they can only tell me that "valves" are not covered... They sight the "Fireplaces and key valves" as the reason - yet when I explain what a key valve is and that the gas valve and control unit that I'm told by my service tech that I need is something different I get "talk to the disputes department - and oh by the way only via email. It has been 7 days since I started emailing the disputes department... with no reply.
This company is a joke... DON'T sign a contract with them!
NEW YORK -- I just want to warn people not to waste their money on a warranty with this company. I do not have the energy after dealing with them to rehash it all. They do not do anything they say they will. Unless you have the time to file suit against them save your money and go with another company. They owe me more money then I paid for the coverage and I know I will never see it. They have no customer service and will ignore your calls, emails, certified mail, etc. The only time you will hear from them is when your coverage is expiring and then you will get an email a day for 3 months and calls nonstop to every number they have on file for you.
When the people calling are asked what they are going to do about the open claims and the pending lawsuit you have filed against them they just respond that it is not their department and they just want to resign you. Good luck to all that have coverage with the company.
TEXAS -- I could just kick myself for not researching National Home Protection Home Warranty Company before purchasing an annual contract! The sales representative were deceiving, the marketing is deceiving and the company's entire intent is to avoid EVER paying a claim. I have filed two claims (water heater) and an electrical wiring issue and both have been denied!

Do yourself a favor and do not do business with National Home Warranty!
I do warranty on pool equipment for this company in Las Vegas. They have not paid me for work done in the last 5 months. As a home owner, if you have a pool do not use them. They come up with an answer when they do not want to pay a claim, that they need additional information from the homeowner. Someone should start a law suit against this company.

THEY DO NOT PAY CLAIMS OR THEIR VENDORS.
