NEW HAMPSHIRE -- My husband was hit while riding a bicycle by a car that wandered onto the shoulder. It was a clear day on a residential street with a wide shoulder. After the car flipped him over the handlebars and left him unconscious by the side of the road, it slowed down, then quickly drove away. The sworn witness in the vehicle behind that one provide the description of events. We pay extra so that our automobile insurance includes coverage for this type of accident.

Nationwide Insurance (who has been our insurance company for more than 15 years) refused to pay (the medical bills cleared out our savings) and told us to take them to court. Most states have a bad-faith law preventing insurance companies from doing this to their customers but New Hampshire does not. SHAME ON NATIONWIDE (CLEARLY NOT ON OUR SIDE), AND SHAME ON NEW HAMPSHIRE FOR LETTING THEM GET AWAY WITH THIS.
