MARYLAND -- OK, NCO Financial and their collection practices are truly off the hook! My ex-husband listed me as an authorized user on a credit card, while we were still together, in 1995. We separated in 1998. He incurred debt. ** from NCO has called my parents house, looking for my ex. My mother (77 y/o and currently hospitalized) must have been listed as a reference (nearest relative not living with you sort of thing). Good ol' ** called Pops tonight, says mom was listed as a co-applicant, and he will collect the debt from my parents.

Of course I had to get involved, tell ** to get off my folks' backs, it's not their debt, it's their deadbeat son-in-law's. ** likes to yell, and not let you get a word in, edgewise. He told me he won't leave my parents alone until I produce my ex, who has been unreachable. Anyway, if anyone could please provide me with the address info of NCO, please do...I need it to write to the FTC and the State Attorney's Office.

Harassing Calls

I just bought a new cell phone 2 months ago and have received over 400 calls from NCO asking for a man that had this number before me. I said "I'm not **, will you please stop calling me". "Yes", they replied "we will take your number off our calling list". Guess what, it's still going on right now, they don't give up and I've hired an attorney that will take them to the cleaners, already filed suit in Alabama. They are crooks and crazy, if you work for NCO, see ya in court next month...

I have NCO Financial that call me literally 10 times a day. I have told them repeatedly to stop calling me on the weekends and at night. If they need to call, do it during the morning. They told me that to stop the calls I had to pay the debt. I told them to mail me a letter to validate the debt they claim I owe and they told me they can't do that. They told me they could validate it over the phone. It's frustrating and I can't get them to stop calling.

TAMPA, FLORIDA -- I received a letter from this company two days ago. The letter stipulated that I have 30 days to dispute the debt. My letter disputing this debt is in the mail. However, before even 3 days pass, I am receiving calls from this company on my cell phone. The caller I. D. is "unknown". These calls use up precious minutes on my cell phone. Why do they not wait for the 30-day period to expire before the harassing calls begin? These debt collection companies should be regulated to stop harassing people.

"Relative" Harassment

My sister-in-law apparently owes someone some money and NCO has been handed over the collection. How they got my name and number is beyond me. They call anywhere between 4 and 5 times a day, leaving very ambiguous messages with an account number and a person to call. I try to expain to them that I don't know where she is and they just keep calling. My in-laws even gave them a reach number for her, but they keep calling them as well. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get them to leave me alone?

Phone Abuse Despite Certified Letter

FLORIDA -- Well they did it. As suggested by Bud Hibbs I within 30 days sent NCO a certified letter demanding all documentation that substantiates their claim. Included a cease comm. letter and have now taped their nasty calls left on our office machine. Three of their calls were erased but I have witnesses and it is all typed out verbatim. Today they left another nasty one that will not be erased, EVER. What do I do now?

ALABAMA -- Dear Mad Eye, would I be able to contact you in regards to my ongoing experience with NCO? I would post it here, but I do feel quite uncomfortable knowing that NCO employees engage in the communication on this site. I would rather have a brief, confidential conversation and avoid confrontation at all costs as I have had enough with this company in the past two years. Thank you so very much.
