PITTSFIELD, MASSACHUSETTS -- I received a card in the mail from Net Spend that I didn't even apply for. Because of that I thought it was a different card that I had applied for and put a deposit into. When I called the customer service number to find out why there was no deposit they couldn't explain their way out of a cardboard box they kept on asking me what retail store I bought my card from. When I asked to speak with a supervisor the woman said that her supervisor was on the other line and couldn't talk to me.

They then transferred me to the "Escalation Center" which I'm assuming is non existent because it just routed me back to the main menu. This happened TWICE. I later figured out that this was not the right card but I am really happy that I didn't actually apply for this card or put ANY money into this company.

AUSTIN, TX -- I tried this card as a secondary not linked with my checking because of security alerts and protection purposes. Bad idea. Better to just open a secondary account at a normal bank. Fee you for everything. I tried to use at an Albertsons and kept declining. Finally after the fifth try it accepted. Next night tried to make a withdrawal from an ATM. Kept declining, but they charged me fees for every attempt, plus their own ATM charge even though I received no money. Called them and they refused to refund the fees. Asked to speak to a supervisor and they refused to let me! Put me on hold for ....been 53 minutes now. Stay away from these people. I think they're hoping I'll hang up. The guy said they could not refund because fees were due to insufficient funds, but my account had plenty of money in it. I kept telling him there was plenty of money in the account, how could he say that? He couldn't answer, just kept trying to sell me a more expensive fee plan. Now I just hope I can get it out. I have had netspend for two years and its been problem after problem. It takes forever to get refunds back its hard to get to speak to a live agent and all their reps are trained to lie!! Today is the icing on the cake. I went to the Atm machine to withdraw money and the machine says my financial institution is not responding. I try to use 2 other ATMs and get the same response. I call netspend I'm told there is nothing wrong with my account and she's going to reactivate my card I should try in 30 mins. I try again and its still not working. I call back and speak to another representative who tells me their entire network is down and no one with a netspend card can access funds. I ask for a supervisor and the girl hangs up. Thank God I had other accts with money. So I go home and call back in the afternoon. I get someone in the escalation department that says they have no network issues and he will call me back in 30 mins. I wait 2 hours and call back and get another representative that says I should wait another 30 minutes for the previous representative to call me back. I have had a Netspend account for more than five years, got the account when the first offered it, I have never had an issue... people may want to READ THE FINE PRINT...you do get charged a fee when you use the card if you do not accept the unlimited usage plan for 9.99, AND just like ANY debit card they do hold funds when used at a gas station...i have seen where people complain about not being able to reach a customer service representative lol, I have never had an issue with that, just like any other company, you have to go through the menu for the company to decide where to transfer the call... PEOPLE....ALWAYS READ THE FINE PRINT!!!!!
