E-mail hosting customer service
Posted by on
We have had a problem for the past 3 days with our email hosted by Network Solutions and despite being "escalated to the highest" level 3 timss, we continue to have a problem.

We first alerted Network Solutions that mail is not being received. We normally get 100 - 200 emails daily, and we got none. Their response was to reindex the email host and we were told this solved the problem. We still did not get mail.

Again tech support said they cannot find any filters, blacklists, etc. that could be causing the problem and all should be good. We still got no email, even when sent from one Network Solutions hosted account to another Network Solutions hosted account. Using their own Webmail service, we could not reliably send and receive emails amongst email recipients within our own domain. Yet, Network Solutions continued to tell us there could not find a problem.

To make matters as bad as possible, we learned that failed emails are not returned to the sender or otherwise advised. Thus anyone sending us an email that we did not receive does not know we did not receive it and presumes we are not responsive to their inquiries relating to our business.

We had been using this email hosting for more than 7 months and never had a problem. Before we are put out of business by Network Solutions, we are moving this hosting to one of the Exchange servers we use for one of our other domains.

Probably among the worst experiences ever in dealing with them. The ending tag line of every call to customer service is "Can we help you with anything else" is moronic and insulting given they cannot solve the most significant problem.

if you have a website, maybe add a note that you are experiencing major email issues. this way people who return will know why their emails are un-answered.
localgod on 12/24/2009:
I pray you don't pay for this service when e-mail hosting is provided for free with more reliable sorts...very reliable and the keyword is free!
PepperElf on 12/24/2009:
I'd recommend switching to a reliable free service.
personally I'm a big fan of gmail myself

I've never had any issues where emails I expected weren't received.

also... if you want to stick with what you have, try sending a test email to your account
sometimes it is possible you're not receiving email because people aren't actually sending them.

Network Solutions is "spamming" me
Posted by on
I subscribed to Watch Dog Services for a year from Network Solutions. I chose not to renew. about four weeks prior to the expiration date I started to received DAILY reminder notices of the expiration. After expiration I received daily "please renew" messages for about 3 weeks. I then received a FINAL renewal email. AFter the final notice I received more "please renew" emails.... not sure how long this is going to continue.

I complained about this and NS says that they can't do anything about this because that's how the reminder script is programmed.

I am viewing these reminders a spam. I will be moving my domain elsewhere soon.

it was a service you paid for, therefore it is not spam. the ftc would as well state the same. simply delete them, and eventually they will stop sending.

I'm the most computer IL-literate on this forum but even I know how to block emails. Sheesh...

Bad SEO and Customer Service
Posted by on
HERNDON, VIRGINIA -- Network Solutions uses a company called Orange Soda for their SEO services- they have over a 50% mark up in this product they are reselling. They do not have a system in place to manage all of their clients, if you want to save 50% go directly to Orange Soda for SEO Services.

Network Solutions has a reverse proxy paid search software they used to run campaigns on Google and Yahoo. They copied Yodel and Reach Local's platform and claim they have a unique product. They have a huge mark up in the clicks and charge for every call and action from Google. The sales representative lied to me and said they would only charge 20% management fee, but when I was going through the reporting I called my account manager and FINALLY got through to somebody, just to be told they have all of these hidden charges. It looked like they had over 100% mark up.

My sales representative from Network Solutions told me they have a very high turn over of employees and a very low customer retention and I see why-

Very bad experience from Network Solutions, I would even go so far as to say Network Solutions is a scam!

BEWARE of Network Solutions Monster Commerce
Posted by on
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS -- We would like to strongly recommend not using Network Solutions. Since they took over Monster Commerce, it has been a nightmare. Things don't work, support is terrible. When you call them about a problem, they cause 2 or 3 new problems. Our Website has been non-operational for about 3 weeks. They just cannot seem to get it together. And we are losing money and business.

Trust me, use another Shopping Cart. Don't use Network Solutions.

Very poor service
Posted by on
BALTIMORE, MARYLAND -- I changed the hosting to Network Solutions to develop an upgraded website. I paid for their hosting, design and SEO. It has been more than 2 months and a couple of thousands of dollars and the website is still not fixed yet.
First the service representative told me that I would receive a call from other departments. Few weeks later I received a call from SEO who told me that he could not do anything until the design team has done their work and that the design team would call. But never received the call. Finally, we called the design team who then told us they couldn't do it until we talked with their backend team. And that someone would call the next day. A week gone by and there was no call. I called the design team again and talked to the person who told me he would tell them to call me the next day. Still no call.
When I called the next time, the support guy told me he could not find my domain name or my name. When I mentioned it had been two months he hung up.
In the meantime, the original sale or service person Allen Sturgeon never responded to our multiple emails or the phone calls.

Move you domain registrar to Godaddy (cheaper) and get a local company to design your web site (better service).
Anonymous on 11/02/2007:
We moved well over 200 domains from Netsol to GoDaddy and have never looked back. Two months after we left Netsol called and wanted to know if they dropped their price from $35 per domain to GoDaddy's price if we would come back. I asked if they will refund the $20 extra we were paying for each domain while with them, we never heard from them again. Bear is 100% correct, find a local web development house that you can go and visit in person. Prices will be better and you won't have to deal with the jerks at Netsol. (VH)

I am definitely going to move out of Network Solutions. I am planning to write a letter notifying them of that intent and to reimburse the payment

GoDaddy, Go! That's what she said to me!

MARYSUE on 10/27/2008:
Network solutions is an awful company. Do not sign up with them. Before network solutions took over monster commerce. monster commerce was very decent and reliable. In years of being involved with online businesses I have never experienced such bad service in bad faith.
here is a list of problems.

1) only about 70% up time - meaning our site is live only about 70% of the time
2) In turn we have lost 30& of our business
3) No response to support tickets for weeks on end
4) then they mysteriously close them without providing any feedback as to what they have fixed and they don't fix anything anyway.
5) No one emails you back or returns phone calls
6) Billing issues
7) When You call to report a problem they create 2 or 3 new problems and fail to fix them
8) Inconsistent information. Not one person there including management or corp. knows what is ever going on. I could go on and on but please take my word for it and other complaints this is a bad company. Its too late for us. Our site has been with MC for 10 years and so we are stuck. If we switch which I would like to we can loose all of our rankings and have zero business, but Don't sign up with them.

Horrible Customer Service and Security
Posted by on
A couple of months ago, several of their servers crashed, and our website was down for over 2 weeks before we were allowed to upload it. We finally were able to move the web hosting to Godaddy, but since Network Solutions had moved our domain name to another of their servers, we couldn't move that for 2 months!!! Now, the 2 months has passed, but they won't acknowledge our requests for the authorization code to transfer the domain name.

It's been 3 days, and they won't respond. It's INSANE! Stay FAR FAR away from this horrible company!

We also use GoDaddy, they are a very good company. As for Netsol they are a dead dinosaur that can't do anything right anymore. Call GoDaddy and see if they can help you out. They have English speaking CSR's in Phoenix that know what they are doing and can help. (VH post)
ParsecSam on 04/13/2008:
I am having the same problem with YAHOO - They have not redirected the web hosting to Verio, a company I have been with Verio since 1966. Never any problems contacting Verio or getting the help I needed. YAHOO shouldn't be allowed. Decided to sue them at $175 dollars an hour for all of the time I have spent trying to talk to a human or getting my domain up and running, almost two months now. If you decide to use YAHOO for web hosting, take note: when you have a problem, don't call them, just Shout YAHOO - the results will be the same and you will save hours of frustration.

Abhorrent customer service and lack of security
Posted by on
A disgruntled former volunteer for our non-profit group hacked into the website we have hosted by Network Solutions. They suggested changing the password, which was done four times, to no avail. It took an investigation by the police to stop the hacker. Network Solutions completely denies any hacking, despite their own login history which proves it. Network Solutions continually ignored emails regarding a resolution to this security issue from March until July. Network Solutions continues to ignore emails, responding to every fourth or fifth email, and only after I stated I will post all emails on our website for everyone to view and evaluate for themselves. They disregarded direct written instructions when issuing a refund, causing a $149.50 loss to our non-profit group.

They refuse to refund duplicate payments, stating they consider the matter closed.

Great Product/Service

After experiencing the so called best in web site design, I found Network Solutions.
I was up within the hour. Had a beautiful and functional web site which I can easily work with and extras that make it easy to do business.
Wonderful company, customer service and easy to use.
I wish I found Network Solutions first. They are a third of the cost of the so called best!
Anyone can have a website at these prices. They walk you through each step if you need. I get a live person easily who takes the time to answer questions and help you achieve your goals.

Thanks a Billion, NETWORK SOLUTIONS!
YOU ARE THE BEST!

You will not regret using Network Solutions.

I also have Network Solutions and the prices are good. Also I fully agree that their customer/tech support is outstanding.
But the web design package is clunky. I create my own pages and upload to their server.
Anonymous on 05/27/2007:
We moved hundreds of domains from Netsol to GoDaddy and saved about $25 per year per domain. Plus all of GoDaddy's tools and extras are cheaper and work better. GoDaddy took the number one ranking away from Netsol some time ago. Netsol's monopoly of domain names is long over and there are far better choices out there now, shop around. As a bonus GoDaddy's tech support answers the phone using USA based CSR's and you very seldom have to wait.

I've had nothing but trouble with Network Solutions, and have moved all my websites to Godaddy. I'm very happy with Godaddy's service, and would highly recommend them to anyone. I would suggest avoiding Network Solutions completely - their customer service is lousy, and so is their security!

FAILURE TO TRANSFER PARKING
Posted by on
ON 1-21-04 I CALLED AND TALKED TO CUSTOMER SERVICE. I HAVE EMAILS TO PROVE IT. I ASKED TO RESET MY PASSWORD AND TO TRANSFER MY DOMAIN NAME FOR PARKING AND HOSTING. THEY NEVER DID THE TRANSFER AS PROMISED AND THE DOMAIN NAME EXPIRED. ALL I GET FROM THE REPS AND SOME GUY WHO CALLS HIMSELF A SUPERVISOR IS THAT I HAVE TO PAY THEM 35.00 THEN THEY WILL RELEASE THE NAME AT THEIR DISCRETION. THEY ARE PURPOSELY SCREWING THE CONSUMER SO MY ADVISE IS TO GO ELSEWHERE FOR YOUR PARKING AND DOMAIN NAME NEEDS. THEY JUST DON'T GET IT. I ASKED FOR A PERSONS NAME IN THEIR CORPORATE RELATIONS DEPT THEY REFUSED TO GIVE IT TO ME. WHAT KIND OF A BUSINESS DOESN'T GIVE OUT THEIR PR PEOPLE'S NAMES. NETWORK SOLUTIONS IS SEEDY.
