Overall Nissan experience

MASSACHUSETTS -- Nissan has lost a customer for life. The driver side window of my 1999 Quest got stuck half way down. Clay Nissan in Newton Massachusetts informed me that window motor needed to be replaced. My jaw dropped when I was told it was an $800 job. The motor is a $50 part. I'€™m not sure where they are getting their parts, what their hourly service rate is, or how the service guy on the phone called me with this information with a straight face.

I declined the service and went to get my car. When I got there I was charged $100 for them to tell me it was an $800 job. What! If a painter accesses what it'€™s going to take to paint my house I'm not buying the ladder for him to do it. WTF. On top of that the window was now stuck all the way down. So I paid $100 for them to make matters worse.

If this were an individual incident I might let it pass, but I replaced the entire transmission on my dime because the warranty had expired by 1,000 miles. (Good to know they stand behind their vehicles.) I had brought the vehicle in multiple times complaining about the gear slippage while it was clearly under warranty yet the service department waited until it was no longer under warranty to let me finally know it was a transmission issue. To bad for me, right?
One less Nissan customer and counting.

Installation of Refurbished Parts Without Customers Consent
By -

My stereo was replaced within the warranty period in 2005 and the CD player quit working in 2007 at which time the warranty had expired and a new factory system cost approximately $1,000, so I opted to get a stereo installed by one of the local car stereo dealers. When they removed the system that Nissan installed in 2005, under the warranty, I discovered that they had installed a re-manufactured stereo, not a new one.

When I called this to Nissan's attention they stated that it is common practice for them to use refurbished parts in cars that are still under factory warranty… Their only objective is to install an item that works regardless of how long it works. This is appalling and deceptive and I am not through with this one.

Nissan Cars Are Overpriced Junk

ALABAMA -- Nissan cars are junk. Beware, do not buy one. Costs more to keep running than payments. No use to complain to them. They treat you like dirt and take your money. Guaranteed, trans. will go out on all their vehicles. I wish they would go bankrupt and out of business. I have never dealt with a company with such bad customer relations. Have they ever heard of the customer comes first and is always right?

Incompetent, mean spirited company

DALLAS, TEXAS -- They took 31 days to 'process' their own payment extension agreement, then reported us "over 30 days" late to credit agencies and refuse to remove it. This was the only irregularity in our long, perfect payment history and they beat us up with their own incompetence and refuse to make it right and rescind the report. Never again Nissan or, of course, their financing.

Warranty Scam

FRANKLIN, TENNESSEE -- $2000.00 worth of work that should have been covered under the warranty, not honored. I went for an inspection before my warranty expired. I made an appointment on 2/23 and was seen on 2/26. The car at that point had 269 more miles past the warranty. This was major work and they did not honor it.

The Good ,The Bad, and the Ugly

I bought a 2005 Nissan Titan in 2006. I replaced the rear axle in 2007 about 33,000 miles. On 09-14-10 rear axle replaced again about 84,000 miles. I do tow with it but I never max the truck out. The most I have carried with it is 7,500 pounds, it's rated to tow 9,000 pounds. This isn't strong and rugged truck they advertise in the commercial. When are the automakers going stand by their products?

1995 Extended Cab Pickup Frame Rust
By -

COLUMBUS, OHIO -- This truck finally fell apart today. I've looked at a lot of 1995 Pathfinders and v6 pickups and their frames are all falling apart from rust. Today the cab and the bed are touching at the top and there is a big gap at the bottom. It's from the frame falling apart. It's all rusted with holes everywhere. It's last trip is to the junkyard tomorrow.

Worst Thing Ever

INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA -- Nissan has ripped us off and refuses to fix my car even under warranty. We bought a new Nissan and the moment we drove it off the lot it started up. They are so stupid they could not find the problem after we took the car in more than 4 times to more than 3 dealerships. And now it is still under warranty and they want $1200 to fix the problem that's still under warranty. How can this be?

Poor Nissan Quality
By -

PENNSYLVANIA -- I own a 2004 Nissan Titan. At 26000 miles all of the foil coated plastic "chrome" was replaced due to severe oxidation and peeling. Eight months later the problem existed again and Nissan refused to do anything about it. At 64000 miles the teeth on the gears of the drive train get sheared off and the only way to fix it is have the whole rear end replaced and an estimate of $3500.00! I never did any off-roading or hauling. Not only does the vehicle look bad now, it also runs bad with no rear end.
