Never Go to Ocean Dental in Mexico (CanCun)

Rating: 1/51
MEXICO, MAINE -- I just want to let everyone know about the bad dental experience I had at Stetic Implant & Dental Ocean Centers in Cancun. If you are researching dentists around the area and if by any chance you decide to visit this clinic, please be aware that you will be attended by a Doctor Called Andy [snip] who are highly unskilled (you will NOT be seen by the "hot shots" you can see advertised on their web page, not to mention we had a very difficult time trying to reach a proper communication since they barely speak English.
The decision was easy since I was called by somebody (I think it was Dr. Javier) who sounded more than helpful and convinced me in a heartbeat, The reality is that this clinic is a total scam. I had several crowns done and later on I discovered my crowns were a total waste of my money. They were poor quality crowns, not to mention they were all ill fitted, ALL EIGHT!!, also I got an infection where I had a root canal and I had to take 10 days of antibiotics and of course my root canal had to be redone. You name it, a total nightmare. The clinic looks dirty as well, believe me when I tell you I was super brave when I decided to get my dental work with them, now I realized I was incredibly stupid.

A dentist here in the States told me it was the worst work he has ever seen and had to be redone due to the ill fitted crowns and the infection. So I guess I just wasted my money. I requested a full refund and I never received a reply. Please be careful about who you choose to do your dental work in Cancun, and please stay away from Stetic Implant & Dental Ocean CanCun Center. Those guys were a total waste of my time and money.

I saw this review before I went to stetic implant cancun and office in nuevo progresso run by many payan and my dentist was dr. Tacher.I knowmitmtombe true and ow, asked about it and they claimed it was competitors, they never had a patient like that. All lies. They have been dangling a refund for him for months and promised to refund me, who, believed them and went to stetic in cancun and got a massive infection and still don't have their shoddy work repaired, paid thousands of dollars to get the bone graft and quality materials, they give you the cheap ones, even though I was promised they would use noble bio are by the dentist. When requested the model numbers they had a song and dance about that too. Stay away, they are horrible when you have a problem. And don't trust whatclinic.com , their reviews are only what the paying dental office will permit o be published and their service award is for prompt callback on leads. Huh?

Dentistar Scams Mexico Cancun
Posted by on
Rating: 1/51
MEXICO, CALIFORNIA -- I went to Dentistar as an emergency referral as my office is without a dentist. I went two times assuming that they were going to pull the tooth that was hurting, after paying 250.00 upon my arrival for the second appointment. They just had the periodontist take x-rays and give me drugs for the tooth with subsequently fell out on its own three days later. They are crooks, stay away from Dentistar. I agree, they only want your money and would rather drug you up than make you feel better. Crap people with crap attitude towards their clients! Never ever go there again! Stay away from it.

Every dentist I know of would take X-rays before before just randomly pulling your teeth. Nothing scamming about it. And X-rays ain't cheap.
tnchuck100 on 05/14/2012:
X-rays are common before any non-routine work (cleanings, etc) is done. However, of all the charges they levy the x-rays are the lesser of the charges.
trmn8r on 05/14/2012:
$250 sounds far too expensive for what you were provided.

At one point in my life, I had a "dental clinic" as a dental care provider under my insurance. What a horrible experience that was. It pays to walk quickly away from a dental provider you don't trust.
Bee on 05/18/2012:
This is an exact copy of a complaint posted on pissedconsumer, except the offending dental clinic was Monarch.

Just met a woman in the gym who told me her dentist wanted $29,000. for six permanent cap's and two route cannel's. she flew to Can Cune and had the whole thing done for $6,600. That did not include the hotel stay ($71. a night ) but come on!
