Comfy Mattress

CINCINNATI, OHIO -- Going on 3 months now with this mattress. It is one of the most comfortable mattresses we ever slept on. It seems well constructed and we're able to wake up without back pain. It cost less than others and the sales representative at the store was not pushy at all. I went in to do research, he just gave me his card after 10-15 minutes of questions and said feel free to come back as many times as you need.

Due to the heavier gauge of the springs, would definitely recommend two people to flip and turn the mattress per warranty instructions.

Beware of bad customer service

RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA -- I entered the Original Mattress Factory store in Raleigh, NC, in the summer of 2007 after seeing and hearing many of their commercials, which indicate they aren't "like other furniture stores" and provide better deals. My experience with this store was so dissatisfactory that I will not shop at the Original Mattress Factory again. I entered the store for the sole purpose of buying a suitable mattress for a child. The staff was uninformed of their own products and wound up selling me a box spring which was wholly unsuitable for a child. I was sold a box spring set that was so tall my child would not be able to safely sleep on the bed. Despite extensive discussions with the sales staff about the age of my child and purpose of my purchase, this was never an issue that was mentioned in regard to the product that I was sold. When I contacted the store the next shopping day after the delivery, I found them to be wholly unhelpful, despite acknowledging that the box spring set that I was sold was unsuitable for the purposes for which I expressly told their sales staff I was shopping. Despite this clear error of competent sales service, the Original Mattress Factory would not refund any money and I was then forced to buy another box spring set in order for the mattress to be functional for my child.

To add insult to injury, after I had wasted approximately $200 on the unsuitable box spring set which the Original Mattress Factory would not refund, I was then told that I would have to pay the shipping and delivery charge (again) for the box spring set to be delivered (which their sales staff should have sold to me in the first place). I would have saved money, frustration, and wasted time by avoiding the Original Mattress Factory. I will not shop further at this company.

The best original factory mattress is the worst I have ever had!

CANTON, OHIO -- Be very careful when dealing with this company. They will sell you on the fact that there mattress are better built but let me tell you they are not. After purchasing a "top of the line" mattress from them and sleeping on it and feeling how cheap it was made they refused to return the mattress. I only had it for 3 days when I ask to return it and there manager was very rude and smart with me. Don't make the same mistake I did and buy a mattress from these guys. I have to file a small claims case to try to get my money back

I've had mine for three years and it's the best mattress and box spring I have ever owned. Call the owner of the company - see if you can go above the store manager level.

I've had this mattress for a few years, and I don't think it's any better or worse than any other mattresses I've owned.

I won't buy a mattress anywhere except the Original Mattress Factory. I have purchased several mattresses from the store in Orlando, FL and am completely satisfied. I have seen how the mattresses there are made and know exactly how my mattresses were constructed. I could never say that about any other new mattress.

We bought a foam mattress from this company (being told it was better than a Tempurpedic) and it did cost much less. When we got it (possibly due to never having actually slept on one before) it was horrible. When we opted to sleep on the floor rather than on the bed due to all kinds of aches & pains, we had to send it back. We slept on it almost 2 weeks to give it a chance, but went back to the store. The store manager (Douglasville GA) told us when we bought it, if we weren't happy with it we could return it, pay the difference and delivery charge again and get another mattress. We had looked at regular box springs too. The set we wanted only had a $30 difference, he told us then we had to pay 25% of the cost of the mattress we had since we were going from a foam mattress to a box spring (none of this ever mentioned when we purchased it). If we had known, there is no way we would have taken the chance. We would have shopped around more even though we had been without a bed for over a month due to damage to our house. He was honest (at first to us anyway) to admit he didn't tell us that part of the policy and it isn't stated on any of their warranty material. When we told him we'd only pay the $30 to switch, he said he couldn't do anything and that the owner wouldn't either. After telling them we'd contact the BBB, later in the day he called the owner who was rude. The store mgr. told the owner he told us the policy (not specifying what he told us & that he omitted explaining switching from one type of mattress to another). We told him the mgr. was lying and he wanted argue those were strong words and he was a nice guy. Nice had nothing to do with it. We had agreed if they wanted to only switch out the mattress and not the box spring if that would help them save money, but it actually cost more to do only the mattress since that's what the money is in. Once the owner finally agreed to switch the set for $30 + addt'l delivery charge, the store mgr. called to set it up and still tried for the mattress switch only costing $120, we told him that's not what we agreed to. Finally we got our new SET for the total of addt'l $70 and when we took it out of the plastic it smelled like a garbage dump! I called another store to ask if there was a reason for this. I was told sometimes because they get foam materials from many places (?) and have to cure it, the process doesn't get complete sometimes because they make the mattresses so fast and just to spray it with febreeze, open our windows and let it air out for a few days. In the meantime, I couldn't sleep on it because the smell made me sick. Now, it seems to be OK and I do have a bed I can use, but I am so sorry I didn't buy elsewhere. The price difference between them and Mattress Direct was only $120 and after switching brought it down to $50, our aggravation was worth more than that.

Twin SIze Box Spring

DOUGLASVILLE, GEORGIA -- I've called several times to no avail. Every time I call the salesperson is busy with someone else and state that they will call me back. I've yet to get a call back.
I purchased 2 sets of Classic Luxury Firm Twin size mattress sets and one on the box springs has 'sunken' in. I purchased the sets back on January 14, 2001 and picked it up on January 16, 2001.

I want the box spring replaced. I want it taken care.
