Cracked Stone

I was under the impression that Pampered Chef guaranteed their products. My stone cracked in the oven while baking on 350. Apparently Pampered Chef will only stand by this stone for 3 years. If they do not trust their product to last I certainly don't trust them or their product enough to invest in another one!

Warranty of Stoneware

HAMPTON ROADS, VIRGINIA -- I have loved the Pampered Chef Stoneware and the comfort to know that they carried a lifetime warranty on them was a great asset. I have many pieces of the stoneware and have had one piece replaced which was a Bundt Cake Stone. I used it so much and loved it. The last time I used it, I pulled the hot stone with cake in it out of the oven, placed it on counter to cool, then as I was walking away I heard a loud pop. As I turned around I was shocked to see the stone bottom had totally cracked in half. I called Pampered Chef Customer Service number and explain to them what happen. She told me to take a picture of it and download it in an email that she was sending to me, which I did and she got it replaced for me.

Just recently I have had two other stones break. One was my bar pan that did the same thing as my Bundt pan did as for the Large pizza stone, I had just baked biscuits on it, took it out of the oven and removed the biscuits. As I moved with the biscuits from the counter to the table which was 5 steps away that pizza stone exploded into many pieces and hit kitchen floor where I now have scorched marks on the linoleum in front of the counter. I was amazed how it just popped and little pieces flew up.

I contacted a friend who sells Pampered Chef and sent you pictures of the items and ask for to please get them replaced for me. She ask me who the dealer was at the time I bought them, really I couldn't remember because I have been too many parties and had parties so I was at a lost so I threw her some names. She came back to me and told me that the items were older than 3 years old so they couldn't be replaced. I told her that I was aware they had a lifetime warranty on them and they should be that I had nothing to do with them breaking.

She apologized to me and told me that the best thing that she could do for me was to give me 10% off along with free shipping. Or I could have a party and get it free as one of my hostess gifts. I told her that I would think on it. Right now the more I think about the madder I get about it. They should be replaced. I did nothing wrong to them, they sold them by saying they had a lifetime warranty, If they are going to change their warranty time then they need to honor the ones that were sold up to the time that change the warranty time. I buy and use a lot of Pampered Chef, even thought about selling it, but I will not sell something that I am not happy with nor will I encourage others to buy it either. Pampered Chef this is a BIG LET DOWN! Crate and Barrel here I come.

Large Bar Pan Broke In 4 Pcs... And Can't Figure Out Why

FLORENCE, OREGON -- Was going to start selling PC in 2012. Got the Large kit and soon within a few months decided it just wasn't going to work for me. Now in the kit was a Large Bar Pan... LOVED IT. Until it had broke in 3 pieces they replaced it. Got the replacement. Read any and all instructions and followed carefully. It was great. Then, just before we moved used it in the oven and I heard the sound... It broke in 4 pieces.

Called them today. Not only were they not or cannot replace it because, the 3 year warranty was up... which they did not tell me that they go back to the original date of purchase but, they couldn't even offer the 2nd one at 50% only 20%. With the total plus, shipping it would of come close to the original price of $37.00!!! LOVE PC... But, their customer service is lacking and that could at least give a better deal on this!!!

Terrible Customer Service! Do Not Buy!!!

ILLINOIS -- I placed a $650 order a month ago and the order was placed on a Saturday and after being lied to about products I was about to receive and wasn't I cancelled my order Sunday thru email the very next day. So when they got in Monday they should not of sent it and I contacted them again 1st thing when they opened Monday morning but they said they're shipping my stuff anyways.

So I was gonna try and work out something only for my friends sake so she was going to get something out of it but they refused to cancel my order or even try to make the situation right. So I got my stuff that Wednesday and I refused it and it's funny they hurried and did 2 day shipping and charged me $40 but they didn't get it back for a week the following Wednesday and they're literally 2 states over from me but they didn't get it for 9 days... and my friends that ordered way less stuff than me it took them a week to get their stuff and they didn't even want it anymore for the way they treated me!!

Then I was told as soon as they receive it my card would be credited back in 5-7 business days and they acted like they didn't receive my return till Friday that week and now it would take 7-10 to process my refund. So now it's been 13 business days and 17 regular days and I reach out again and now they say allow another 10 days for it to hit my cc card... this has been the absolute worst experience with a company ever in my life!!! DO NOT buy from them!!

They will hold your $ be very rude to you and still no refund a month later! Buyer beware what you're in for! I guess everything happens for a reason. I would've spent all that $ and my pots had a lifetime warranty. I probably would've went thru nothing but lies and rudeness and nothing getting resolved. God forbid I had a problem with 1! Thank god I found out how they treat their customers!!! Never buy from them. They will steal your $ and you will fight to get it back even when you don't even open your shipment and refuse it! STAY AWAY. If I could give them a 000 I would. 1 is too good but that's the lowest option! I have never wrote a review but to be treated this way I had to!

Smooth-Edge Can Opener Made in China What Warranty???

So this is what happens when you do a friend a favor. About 5 years ago I hosted a Pampered Chef party so a friend could make some extra money. The company looked great and so did their products. I bought an oil mister, a Pampered Chef Smooth-Edge Can Opener #2758 can opener, and some other items. They seemed to be quality items from a reputable company but was I wrong. The mister leaked after about 2 years and it was a real struggle to have PC replace the faulty product. Customer service treated me as if it was my fault and only after repeated requests and escalating it to a supervisor did they reluctantly agree to replace (one time only) the mister.

Maybe if it had been made better this would never have happened. Always remembering that these products are priced on the high side. When my smooth edge can opener started to fail about a year ago and now will not open anything, I didn't want to go through the same hassle as before with PC's customer service. The only reason I'm taking this time to explain my situation is to make other potential buyers of PC merchandise aware of poor merchandise, curt and unsympathetic customer service, and to make everyone aware of PC's warranty.

Because of the price I assumed that whatever I bought had a life time warranty against manufacturing defect. You all remember the Odd Couple and what Felix said about the word assume. Enough said and thank you for allowing me to rant.

ADDISON, ILLINOIS -- It truly is as bad as you've heard. The only products I can recommend are the pizza stones, and they are terribly overpriced. Some of the products work; others do not. Never purchase the color coated knives because they dull quickly. This is why they are not guaranteed. The recipe books are simply terrible. They make Betty Crocker look like Escoffier. Try following the recipe if you have a background in cooking. I dare ya. It probably won't turn out, and you'll be shaking your head the entire time.

If you are a husband attempting to distract your housewife from your porn addiction and many affairs, this is a wonderful company, even better than Avon in the 1950s-70s. But if you want to cook and care about what you eat: Stay away. Go to a kitchen supply store. In this place, you will find good quality items for much less. Read real classic cookbooks to develop a taste and technique. Buy local. Perhaps then your children will not develop diseases like diabetes. You'll certainly not be stuck throwing away food.

Poor Consultant

JOHNSTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA -- In November I was at a craft show and ordered a medium scoop from the Pampered Chef demonstrator. I paid her cash and walked away. After not receiving the product in late December I noticed the Venue and tried to locate the consultant. I paid cash for the item and didn't get a receipt (big mistake on my part).

After contacting the consultant with several emails and phone calls with no response I contacted the corporate office in IL. They were to look into the situation and get back to me. They apparently contacted the consultant as well and got no response. Corporate told me I would have to send them a registered letter stating my complaint. Since the item was only around $25 I wasn't going through all that - I already wasted so much time in phone calls. Finally, they agreed to send me the item. I got no reimbursement or voucher for credit, which I found disappointing after everything I went through. I guess after waiting 3 months for the product I was lucky to just get that. Anyway, I will not support Pampered Chef anymore.

Consumer Complaints

ILLINOIS -- Just purchased the 8" skillet which is great. However I was very distressed to read the comments about the warranty. I too was told by the consultant that the pan was warranty for life. I like more buyers of parties did not read the fine print. However I was more distressed to read the comment by the the Pampered Chef home office associate especially statement # 5 which was not call for and very rude. If there is misunderstanding about warranties then your consultants are to blame because it is they who should be informing the potential buyers exactly what the product warranty is.

Most people would then be informed and would decide if the product, the price and the warrentee was what they are interested in. No confusing and no complaints and all happy buyers. You as an associate of Pampered Chef should be disciplined for your comments. It is your comment # 5 which has turned me against the product line not the warranty as I do not believe products need to be warranted for life as life is terminal.

Rockcrok Cracking After 1 Year of Use

BLAIRSVILLE, GEORGIA -- I enjoyed using this EXPENSIVE piece of equipment ($130+) on a weekly basis. I was fixing some stew, heard a large "crack" and found that this dutch oven cracked almost completely in half (although still intact); liquid was running out of its bottom. I have always washed this by hand and my method of cooking exactly followed the crock's instructions.

I sent an email to the company via their "Solution Center" email address (nothing else on their website even vaguely suited my need for customer assistance). I have not even had an automatic response from them. I tried calling, but was on hold for a long time without feedback as to when my call would be answered. Especially after doing more research on the internet, I have no faith whatsoever that I will receive a favorable response to my request for replacement.

Products no longer any good

NEW BERN, NORTH CAROLINA -- Twenty years ago, I bought a PC spatula for $8. Expensive at the time but I loved it and it lasted 20 years without cracking or discoloring. Two years ago, I went to a party and ordered 2 more at $10 each, one I gave to my son, the other to replace mine which finally had seen better days. The first time I used it in sauce it stained. A year later, I went to another party and got several more for my children and myself at now $12 a piece. I noticed that the 2 new new ones are cracked, and pieces are falling off (into our food??!). I thought there was a guarantee, and contacted the party representative - No reply yet.

I have my receipt. I'm sure if I wrote to say I want to host a party I would hear promptly. Bottom line is these products are no longer made well and they are very expensive. The company doesn't care to stand behind them. Do not waste your money and tell your friends who are hosting why you will not be attending. Do them a favor. These reviews are not bogus - they are all true. I've heard from others as well about things that break after only a few uses.
