GRAY, GEORGIA -- Calls being disconnect and rude customer service. Refused to credit two calls but the supervisor could not explain why I was getting a message if the call had dropped. Their poorly trained supervisor informed me that their product didn't play a message. They switched over to a new system last week and I can only assume they didn't bother to educate their staff. Crystal was rude and kept talking over me to the point that I had to start raising my voice to be heard. Towards the end of the first call I ended up losing my temper and use foul language. Crystal then hung up on me which is standard in any customer service department. What is not standard is that when I called back she started yelling at me and threatened to hang up on me again. When I told her I would just call back she told me she would get me for harassment and then hung up. When I called back for a third time she let it go to her voice mail.

Also, noticed there is a complaint from 2012 also complaining about a Crystal. . What are the odds of that. Having worked in a phone business customer service department dealing with hostile customers I have to tell you that your company is in a sad state or just doesn't care if that is the norm from your supervisors. Which I'm assuming is after reading the complaints from a year ago involving the same supervisor.
I placed money on my account but every time my brother calls from jail the automated system does not recognize that I'm pressing 3 to accept the call and won't allow me to press any other options. This has been going on for 3 days and still has not been resolved. Every time I call customer service they hang up on me. CHARLESTON, SOUTH CAROLINA -- I did not know that I have to call paytell to take a block off. I thought that If you had put money on the account that the block would be taken off. I have no way of looking up this information, other than a small section on a piece of a website. I just wish they had more on the site to know. I wish I could check and see if there is a block on my phone by their site. Not have to wait on the phone for someone. I have already been hung up once waiting on their line, then called back and had to tell the person NOT TO HANG UP THIS TIME. I just wish they were a little more user friendly. I hope also that I'm not taken advantage of.

GREENSBORO, NORTH CAROLINA -- Yes I agree with the other reviews, the cost Is ridiculous $20 gets you about 10 minutes, but my larger complaint is their web site, it's a sin that they charge a $3 fee to give your money to them, then to make matters worse if you accidentally enter a wrong cc # or something off in any of the many field that must be filled out, tiny little screens, they block you from paying online and add another 3 fee to pay over the phone, or you have to drive to western union and pay $6 fee! Not because the money wasn't there but because you entered the exp on you card wrong or didn't notice there was a expired date already in the field. Or your bank changed your home address but failed to change the address on your debit card, they block you and charge $6 fee, what a total scam. As if having a loved one in jail isn't difficult enough, they have not even been tried and convicted, and the costs are robbery!

NORTH CAROLINA -- It is ridiculous that for 40 dollars I could only receive 6 phone calls from an inmate in county jail when you can receive more than that when receiving calls from a prison. What the hell.

I understand that its long distance but really 6.85 a phone call y'all need to get it together cause that phone call price for one phone call from a Wake County jail is ridiculous, even if it is long distance!!!!!
I have been trying to reach Paytel, with no luck. I have gone on the website, where I can't click on "contact us", I have called SEVERAL times, unable to reach anyone. I put an account on my debit card, and they double charged me. But, the money on the account was not doubled. It is a few days from Christmas, I am here with my two kids, while their father, my husband, is incarcerated. It is not only rough that he is away during the holidays, but don't mess with the little money I have to support us all. I want to know how I can contact this company. I just got finished reading the reviews, and they are just horrible. I never realized so many people had this many problems with this company. The bad thing is, we have no options. Please Help. T. After repeated disconnects finally got through after being on hold for 35 minutes representative was not even trying to help with putting money into my account. She was a smart ass who doesn't appreciate her customers and should be in the position of some of her customers, then the attitude may change. As much money as they make off of our friends and families, they should be thankful that they are still in business. We need more options for this kind of service.
