GREEN BROOK, NEW JERSEY -- We arrived at our Pizza Hut of Green Brook in route 22 around 6.30pm on a Sunday night. There were only a dozen of people when our 10 people party arrived.
First thing we asked was that if they could do separated checks for us, since we had credit cards and didn't want to take time dividing only one check. Waiter told us he had to check with his manager, when he came back he told us that he wasn't able to do it and that we had to split the check ourselves, we decided it was not big deal.

We ordered our drinks and food and not until 15 minutes later we got our drinks, he brought 1 pitcher of soda for us and after we all tasted it was a big mistake. He gave us Cherry Pepsi instead of regular. When I went to ask him that he gave us the wrong Pepsi, he looked surprised and said : "We are fixing the regular pepsi now"...which made me think that he knew exactly what he was giving us in the first place. We let it go and wait for the regular pepsi to work, which we got 5 minutes later.

Then we started checking our utensils and some of them even had pizza residues on them, they were filthy as the whole rest. was.

We got our first order of breadstick 30 minutes later and only 45 minutes later we got the pizzas, after asking for them about 5 times with the same answer "They are coming out now".

Waiter promised a 10% discount for the whole bill, when we got the bill it was a $3.00 discount for a $110.00 bill, we couldn't believed it and when to speak to the manager (who by the way was cleaning up tables), she said she was going to fix it.

Then she took $10.00 off the bill, then smart waiter went to try to separate the bill but when he went to separated he charged us the food without the discount....!!!! At this point all I wanted is to leave that place.... it was 8.30pm already!!! INCREDIBLE!!

This is my case....

Separate checks for ten people? Are you kidding? I can understand McDonald's, but Pizza Hut? "I had one slice of the meat lovers and one slice of the pepperoni, and half an order of the breadsticks and a Pepsi - how much is my part of the bill?"

"...they were filthy as the whole rest. was."

So how was the food in this FILTHY restaurant? My immune system is watering just thinking about it.
dealwithit on 04/19/2008:
First of all people complain but they don't know what servers have to deal with. OK maybe a restaurant is dirty because a table just left or because we are trying to take care of our customers first. If you didn't like the place then you should have just left. I understand that people go to get a great service but sometimes servers are overwhelmed with what they have to do. for the separate checks, you could have easily divided it urself because its not as easy as you think. well this is my point of view considering I was a server once 2. some people are patient and understand, others just complain.

Poor Service
Posted by on
PITTSBURG, KANSAS -- I recently went out to eat with my father on fathers day to eat at the Pizza Hut on South Broadway. The service was horrible. There was a new employee {whom said she had been there four days} taking our order. Now to start I to run a fast food restraint so, I know what it is like to have a new employee. What I am concerned about is the lack of help that was given to her. This poor girl was screwing up all of her tables. She asked me what I wanted to drink and said she would come back to ask my father whom hadn't yet made it to the table. It was 10 min before she ever came back. She then asked me what I wanted again and my dad. I also got drinks for my two children. Ten more min past and she came to take our order. We gave her the order. My dad went to get his salad and she came back and asked me what our drinks were apologizing to no end. She then came back and asked us what our food order was. My dad made it through his salad when she came back and asked us what our drinks were again. Dad went back to get his second bowl of salad a little while later and we finally got our drinks from another waitress. Whom got the drinks backwards. She brought us our drinks a few minets later. We sat there awhile talking and the next thing I know she came and asked us for the third time what our order was. We waited a while longer. We watched her run around with her head cut off like a new employee would. I just wonder where was the Manager. People were complaining that they had called in orders and had to wait 45 min. Others walded out, some just waited patiently. Then my dad went up for desert when she brought us our receipt. I hadn't even got my food yet. She then tells me that my order hadn't even been started yet. Well my dad works nights I had told her and I had already been there for 45 min. I know that it takes a while to make your wonderful pizzas but I don't have all day especially with my kids. I get to looking at the receipt and not that I was unhappy but she undercharged us for the salad meal. I did not wait. My father went to pay for what we had and the manager on duty came out of what looked like an office I am guessing and gave it to us free. Big whup! I would have liked my food. I am just wondering how is it that the only time in the hour in a half that I was there did I see the manager once. I seen another waitress that had plenty of time to help out that new employee. I was asked what my drinks were three times and then my food three times,it took six tries. Teamwork is what that store needed. My family quit going there many years ago because of health issues but I won't get into that. We decided to try it again on fathers day since Pizza Hut has the best pizza. I will always be a faithful customer but I will not return to that store on South Broadway across from McDonalds. Which by the way is what I had to eat.

I agree I wouldn't be mad at her because I know what its like to not know what to do. But no only at the fellow employees for not helping out but the mgr for not helping either. I used to work for Papa Johns at every level and pizza can be easy and fun but its harder than it looks. Esp if you've never worked in food before. I'm extremely sorry you had to eat mcdonalds. The only thing good about is the mcflurry's that's about all I like there
Anonymous on 06/18/2007:
I hope you gave the poor girl a tip and never eat at mcdonalds again, it's bad for you.

Good review, I voted you very helpful
Anonymous on 06/19/2007:
Well, the review was good, except what is the big deal of getting your drinks backwards, why can't you exchange them. I am glad that you are not blaming the waitress. It is probably hard for her on her first few days there. She probably should have said she is having trouble and needed help, but was afraid to because she thought that they would think she was not able to do her job. Either way they should not have assigned her to so many tables if she was new until she got the hang of her job.

Thin Crust Pizzas
Posted by on
BROWN DEER, WISCONSIN -- I went to Pizza Hut in Brown Deer, WI to order 2 medium thin crust pizzas to be ready at 6:00 PM. My son-in-law picked them up and brought it to my house. We were late for a birthday party so tried to eat these pizzas that were like eating hard cardboard with very little sauce and almost no

The result was that my son-in-law's mother broke her denture trying to chew it. I
called the store and they said they could only give me a coupon for a free pizza. I need to get this problem resolved. We have never eaten such horrible pizzas. Frozen pizzas are much better.

Keep you receipts. Do you have the name of the person you spoke with? Save your dentist receipts. WRITE a letter to the local store manager and the national office. Show a copy to your attorney. Ask for their insurance information. Remember - YOU must prove your case.

C'mon, we live in an imperfect world. Sorry about the dentures but what were you all doing trying to eat these manhole covers? Late for a birthday party? Who's fault is that? Had you managed your time better you could have found something else to eat at the party.

zz, thin crust from Pizza Hut is the only pizza they have that's worth eating LOL
I am curious exactly how the dentures got broken though..
caa on 08/19/2008:
I remember Pizza Hut being a rare treat when I was a kid. The pizza was really good then, or perhaps I loved it because I was too young to have developed discriminating taste buds.

Anyway, I don't know if you can prove that the pizza broke the dentures. Good luck.
Anonymous on 08/19/2008:
OMG. This is why plastic bags and everything else comes with a warning label now. Soon to appear: "Pizza Hut cannot be responsible for broken teeth or dentures". Why not sue them for the fact that their product is turned into fecal matter by the human digestive system.

Didn't Get My Order!
Posted by on
MAGNOLIA, ARKANSAS -- After just arriving home from a long trip out of town, my family was hungry for dinner. I called Pizza Hut at 9pm and placed a small, non-complicated order. I placed the order for delivery. When my order did not arrive at 10pm, (they said it would take 20mins), I called them to make sure they weren't having trouble locating my address. They then had the nerve to tell me that I said I would pick it up (I think I would remember if I said that, because that would mean I would have to load several kids up in the van and drive across town at 10pm).

When I explained to them that I clearly said "for delivery", they said, "well, we're closed now"!! Will never, ever do business with this place again!

$5.00 Pizza Hut Pan Pizza
Posted by on
HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA -- The new $5.00 pan pizza (minimum purchase of 3) is a waste of money due to how terrible they are.

Okay. I should know that a $5.00 pizza is too good to be true but I'm single and I thought that by buying 3 of them I could freeze most of it for eating a bit each week.

I normally like Pizza Hut but these pizzas are TERRIBLE! They are as bad if not worse than the frozen pizzas you buy in the grocery stores. They put way too much sugar in the pizza sauce and even though I asked for extra cheese they didn't even put enough on there for a normal pizza. The sauce is so sweet that I will probably end up throwing the three of them (minus a few slices) out.

So don't waste your money. Will I ever return to Pizza Hut? Maybe but not for a long, long time. This taste experience has turned me off pizza.....

after one time you are giving up? and why didn't you return to the store and tell them? how do you know it wasn't just a one time thing, I mean everyone has bad days. you shouldve went back with the pizza's and told management they didn't taste good (how else would they know to fix the problem?) asked for new ones or money back, also you said it was a "new" item maybe they haven't worked out all the "bugs" yet..... give it another try in a month or so and see how it is then. after all you wouldn't want someone to quickly "judge and dismiss" you on first meeting would you?
jenjenn on 01/12/2008:
It's called the "Pizza Mia." We actually bought one tonight for dinner. It was OK - the sauce is sweet, but it WAS part of the description of the pizza. We were trying it for the first time, so I didn't want 3 of them - one pizza was $6.99 & it was worth the money. That is pretty cheap!
HutShiftManager on 01/15/2008:
Hey here's an idea: Ask what you're getting before you order it. They should've told you about the deal but probably assumed since you were asking for the 3 for $5 deal you "saw" or "heard" about that you knew what it was. It IS NOT A PAN pizza. NOWHERE does it say they are. They are called MIA pizzas. They have light toppings, including cheese, a sweet sauce, and are made on a hand tossed crust. (Which is not pan). If you don't know what something is, don't order it blindly. As a manager at a Pizza Hut this is a very frustrating problem that occurs daily. It's one thing if you understand what you're getting and still don't like it, but to blindly order it and say "this isn't what I ordered" is downright ignorant. Would you go out and buy a car because you heard about a good deal on it without knowing anything other than the deal on it? Ask before you order and it will save you a lot of future frustation. Remember you get what you pay for, you can't expect pizzas that are $5 a piece to be loaded with cheese and toppings, it costs the company money to order the products too!
PizzaHut Mgr on 01/09/2009:
As a hut mgr when I tell them it's lightly topped I get what does that mean. I have tried every one of the lines that they want us to tell them and all I get is waiting time over the phone so not I tell them you get what you pay for. That has worked to quickly move on to the order or next call..

Deceptive Presentation and Lousy Prduct
Posted by on
BRATTLEBORO, VERMONT -- When they say "hand tossed crust" you tend to think your crust will be fresh and made the old fashion way. Think again. This is a frozen crust and they don't cook it long enough. Barely brown on the bottom gooey on the top, covered with too much sauce and skimpy amount of cheese and mushrooms sliced thinner than paper. It was absolutely the worst pizza I've ever had. Store bought frozen pizza is even better. I will never go to Pizza Hut again. I can also tell you that the one in Brattleboro, VT has never done well. Must be we have too many other pizza houses around here that know what they are doing.

*** Wonders if Bigbambu is going to make a comment about Taco Bell as well as they have mentioned 2 of the YUM corporation's restaurant's. *** I am a former Employee of Both KFC and PH. Yes the dough comes in round discs and they are frozen. All the veggies are precut, some are in plastic bags some are in boxes (shrooms in boxes).

We have a company here in Washington State called Papa Murphy's Take and Bake. The pizzas are awesome and yes they hand make the crust everyday and several times a day. They have even started to add to their line and have fresh salads, cookie dough and garlic breads. I would give them a 10 out of 10 on quality, quantity and prices.
Ponie on 12/30/2006:
Silver, I agree there are pizzarias that far surpass anything you'd get at PH but judging where s/he eats, Bigbambu would complain about two things: (1) Wait time, and probably more importantly, (2) price. There's a certain shop about 20 miles from me and anytime I'm in that area at the shopping mall, I always allow enough time and $ to enjoy a truly delicious pizza.

Lidman--I like mustard on them, too. Now I'll really gross out everyone: I like Peanut Butter and Baloney sandwiches. :)

Ponie, where did you come up with wait time and price. I would gladly wait and pay higher price for good food especially pizza. Pizza is not like sex. When it's bad, it's really bad.
Bigbambu on 12/31/2006:
SilverWings71, it is only by coincidence that both these brands happen to be YumYum brands. In fact, now that I know this, and when you throw TacoBell into the mix I think YumYum has got some issues to clean up. Thank goodness there isn't a Taco Bell anywhere near here.
Bigbambu on 12/31/2006:
Justusryan, you are correct. Who would have thought, not me, until the menu plainly states "hand tossed". Don't you think this is a bit deceptive?
Anonymous on 12/31/2006:
Ponie, emt I love PB and bananas or PB and Cheese or Mustard on white bread and just PB on a spoon. I also eat rat, silkworm larvae, pig guts, grass hoppers (candy coated), monkey and all kinds of stuff. Life is good
Ponie on 01/01/2007:
Lidman, enclosed is a map on how to get to my apartment. You better get over here and clean up the Pepsi from my monitor and keyboard I laughed all over it. Yeah--I forgot about the PB and bananas. Haven't had one of those in a long time!

Big: 'Must be we have too many other pizza houses around here...' So spend the extra $$$ and try one of them.
Chet_13 on 07/10/2007:
I work at Pizza Hut, and here's the deal. Yes, the dough is premade, as is everything at most FAST food restaurants. Like sex, FAST food is never the best. Handtossed dough is "hand-tossed" to strech the dough out to the right size. At PH, we strech it out while it is still on the table. You get the same effect, but it's faster, more efficient and consistent, and it has a far better learning curve.

No buffet for you!
Posted by on
Remember back in the day when Pizza Hut used to be just a regular sit-in restaurant and during lunch time they had the big buffet? They were doing good back then. Now they've totally sold out by converting most of their old restaurants and building new ones that are set up like a fast food joint where you can order combo meals (i.e. personal pan pizza with a side order of breadsticks and a medium drink). This was a TERRIBLE move on their part, seeing as they just want to cut costs of doing business and don't give any consideration of what the general public thinks. Alas, there are still some Pizza Huts that actually are still the old style, but you have to search some backwoods town in Mississippi for example. GO BACK TO THE OLD PIZZA HUT! THE NEW YOU SUCKS!

DebtorBasher on 01/23/2006:
Fast food means it comes out fast? I don't think so. I know there's been times when I had to wait longer for my food at Micky D's or Wendy's than it would have taken me to flip my own burger.

Dr. Jeecheroo on 01/23/2006:
Because Zork, I was referring to the way a restaurant operates; not a product they once sold. If that were the case, I would have then asked them to bring back The Big New Yorker, or Stuff Crust Pizza.

I would assume that the buffet wasn't profitable. You're whining about pizza that isn't that good. Go to a real pizza joint. Gluten.

BANNING, CALIFORNIA -- Preordered 3 large pizza on line for pick up. 1/2 way to restaurant, received call from Pizza Hut that they "did not have large pizza's" and that the veggie pizza I ordered could only be filled with olives and mushrooms since they were "out of veggies". I canceled my order and drove over to Papa John's.

Since when does a pizza place not have large pizza's? Were they out of premade dough? No veggies? What is up with that?

My Papa John pizzas were just fine. In fact, they were closer and $1.50 less.....
