Very displeased with the refund policy. We booked a hotel at a reasonable rate but the parking at the hotel was as much as the stay! I am very unhappy that you cannot get a refund. You must rebook and still are charged a 25 dollar cancellation fee! I also think the people on the other end of the phone should speak better English. I could hardly understand a thing she was saying! 1 Replies - Latest reply on 03/06/2014Add reply
I booked and paid for 3 days at a hotel in Alabama. When my stay was over the hotel slid an invoice under my door. The balance was 0 but the price paid was $50 less than what I paid Priceline.
Priceline "Best Price Guarantee" is not applicable to customer service because "rack rates are not considered for this claim" and I should have called before check-in.
Obviously I could not call before check-in so the "Best Price Guarantee" is for marketing purposes and not meant to be used for legitimate claims.
In my opinion the hotel made a mistake by showing my their price and Priceline gets as much as they can from the customer - guaranteed.
Worst Booking Experience
Priceline is the worst if you are going to book using a third party please pick a good and reliable company like Expedia for example and you won't have to deal with this people. I booked a hotel using ... read full review
I booked two nights in a hotel in Buckeye through Priceline.com. Upon checkout I was given a receipt that detailed what the charges were for the room. I was shocked to discover that the regular rate for that room was $94.79 and Priceline charged me $114.25. Not only did I not get a discount rate, I paid more using Priceline than if I had booked directly with the hotel. Beware, consumers. Add reply
BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS -- I booked a hotel room through Priceline at 7pm. 10min later I no longer needed the room so I called Priceline to cancel. Well, it seems their "policy" does not allow for reimbursements even though the booking was done 10minutes before. Their solution was to call the hotel directly because they still get charged for booking the hotel. So I hung up and called the hotel and was told they can NOT re-imburse me because it was after 4pm and that they will HAVE to charge me. I tread to reason with them and the best offer I got was to call and speak to the manager. Well as it turns out the manager was ONLY willing to reimburse me for half of the booking because she claimed Priceline STILL will want to be paid for the booking. HMMM so someone here is NOT telling the truth as to who can reimburse me. Priceline claims they can not reimburse me because the hotel will charge them regardless. The hotel claims they can NOT reimburse me because Priceline will charge me. Does anyone else see a problem with these third party companies. I would say be very wary of what your booking and read all the small font disclaimers. All in all I think this is very bad business if I the customer am left in the middle with absolutely no one to turn to to get this resolved.Add reply
SEVEN HILLS, OHIO -- Didn't even want to give them any kind of star, but we had too!! Customer service is terrible their exceptions and rules are misleading, vague and totally unrealistic. When you talk to one person then talk to another everyone gives you totally different answers. The insurance is a SCAM. They lead you to believe that what you need is what the policy is, even if it is not. When asked to speak to a supervisor they argued about that then they said they will put us on hold, but it won't make a difference. then we hung up after two hours and no one even answered. They don't care they are a big business if they lose one person they think, heck there are two other suckers to take their place. All they care about is money NOT customer service!!!Add reply
ALVIN, TEXAS -- My flight got changed and I have called three times getting no info from Priceline. They tell me the office they need to call to be able to fix my tickets are always closed and only open from 10-6pm EASTERN TIME. Which they neglected to tell me the first two times I have called. Not only this, but because I bought my tickets through Priceline, they technically own the tickets until I depart so I can't even call the airlines to get my tickets fixed myself. SO I am still dealing with the stupid people that are very unhelpful.
Especially since I have called three times and it is like I have to start all over explaining everything every time I call because they don't look at each others notes left on the account. NEVER TRUST THIS COMPANY OR USE IT!
CALIFORNIA -- I decided to give Priceline a shot after using Hotwire for my rentals. I tried bidding on a car priced at 39$ a day. After putting in bids from 25$ they replied saying it was denied and that I should bid 30$. After exhausting as many prices as I could and being denied I finally put in 30$ and of course it was accepted. Now they take your money once the bid is taken and there are no refunds. Two days later I see the same car for rent on Hotwire for 23.95$, WAY CHEAPER! I asked them for a price adjustment which they did. A few days later the price dropped on Hotwire again to 21.95$. I asked Priceline for another adjustment and was denied. I will no longer be going through Priceline.com.
They over charge you and you can usually get the same rental from Hotwire for 10$ cheaper, WITHOUT HAVING TO BID. Priceline fails as a company. Hotwire is they way to go, never had any issues with them.
I was booking a hotel for a weekend getaway and decided to try Priceline Name your own price since it claims you save up to 60%. Unfortunately the price I paid is $26 higher than the published price on the hotel website. The rate was available to all sorts of groups to include any type of government employee (state, federal, military) AAA, CAA, AARP. I called Priceline Customer Service and even had it escalated to Customer Relations and after 27 minutes on hold and in conversation, all I was told twice was that their best price guarantee is based on a discount off the full price, not in comparison to any discounted rate, published price or even compared to other sites. There is NO guarantee it is the best price, and it is not refundable, no credit can be offered and there is nothing you can do about it. I could have saved my self money and time and just booked the hotel on the hotel site, and it would be changeable, cancelable and they'd refund the difference if the price dropped.

Bottom line: Clearly there are better prices and much better customer service approaches out there. I will never use Priceline again, and suggest that anyone who is eligible for a student, military, government, AAA, AARP, CCA or loyalty program price should avoid using Priceline.com. They are not giving you a deal, so use another site to book or find a hotel you like and then book with the hotel directly.
I bid on a car and hotel for California. I could not go for good reasons last minute. I called Priceline and was told the reservations were non transferable non refundable. I knew this however, I had no control over not being able to go. Priceline keeps the money I paid. This is how they make money NOT on the commissions from rentals etc. The hotel does not charge Priceline if the rooms are not occupied. They have the right to charge but they most likely don't. I spoke to Priceline even the executive office and they refuse to do anything. Do Not Use Priceline unless you are prepared to lose lots of $$$$ if you cannot travel. This is unfair business practice. I would rather spend a few more $$ and book directly with car rental and hotels where I will get a full refund if not used. I will be using all social media to let the public know that they will be ripped off by Priceline if they have to cancel.1 Replies - Latest reply on 01/18/2014Add reply
Do not bid on a hotel on Priceline! They will say you get a hotel in a certain area, then you get there and its nowhere near that. When I called customer service to inform them of this, they said they wouldn't fix it, and did not care at all. NEVER USING THIS SITE AGAIN. Liars and cheats. Add reply
We have been using Priceline for years and never had a problem. But the 1st time we actually needed to speak to a live person because of an issue that needed addressed - nobody will call or e-mail us back! We've been trying to reach someone now for 5 days and it's complete silence on the other end! Now I'm reading other reviews of others needing refunds and Priceline blowing them off. So - as long as everything goes perfectly with your travel plans (which of course you can't tell the future), then great. But don't expect any acknowledgement if you need anything or have any issues.Add reply
NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA -- I made reservations to New Orleans online that was suppose to be best price available (all Lies). A couple of days later, I called the hotel to find out Price Line was charging me 70 dollars more(liars) a day. My trip is 6 months away and they tell me that ain't nothing I can do about it because I had 24 hours to cancel and my time was up. They lied about the best price available and they have the nerve to hold me to this mess. Its to late for me so this is for the rest of the hard working individuals that don't want to be taken advantage of by Price Line. "Only spend your hard earned money with people that work hard for you". STAY AWAY FROM PRICE LINE!!!! LIARS, SCAM ARTISTS.Add reply
It was relatively easy making the arrangements for my hotel and flight. I also spoke with a person to verify the plans. I understood that breakfast was included with the hotel and when I got to the hotel I found out that breakfast was extra. The people at the hotel were very nice and explained that it wasn't listed on my document. I called Priceline and literally spent 2 1/2 hours trying to get a person on the phone. The hotel even called for me using the number that they have and then gave me the phone. I explained to them, that I understood that breakfast was included and to play back the recording. He said someone will get back to me that day after they review it. Needless to say no one ever got back to me. More phone calls were made and I couldn't get any where. All they had to do was to call me back and say yes it was their mistake or sorry for the inconvenience but I misunderstood. So the end of the story is its good if it works but if you have any problems there is no one to help you. They lost me and my family as customers.Add reply
ON LINE -- I paid Priceline in advance for economy car rental 2 months in advance. When I arrived in Atlanta there were dozens or hundreds of people waiting hours foe Hertz rentals booked by Priceline. After waiting hours 1000 miles from home we were told to call a cab. Since this was last minute at the airport the best rental available in Atlanta the day was $200 more then I paid Priceline.
Priceline said to bad and would not refund the difference. DO NOT EVER rent a car from PRICELINE. They do not uphold their agreements and leave you stranded hundred of miles from Home.
I have used Priceline.com for rental cars a few times. The last time on a trip to Florida when I got to the counter, the rental car agent chummed me up and asked what kind of car I drive at home and said I must be used to luxury etc and then offered me a choice of TWO cars. When I picked one of them, I later discovered it cost a lot more than my Priceline cost and was in essence an upgrade that wasn't disclosed to me. The rental car company said well, if the desk man gave you the total price, that was your chance to say "whoa, that's more expensive than I want, I will stay in the class I reserved." You have to know to say these key words apparently. I think they should be required to tell you that they are UPSELLING you. So just be careful.Add reply
NORWALK, CONNECTICUT -- I booked a hotel through Priceline. The rate seemed pretty low (~$75/night), but the hotel was really, really bad (e.g., hairs in the bathtub when I got to the room), so that makes sense. However, the price I paid Priceline for 4 nights stay was $80 more than what was printed on my receipt from the hotel. I was traveling for a work related meeting and need the hotel receipt to get reimbursed.
So, I called Priceline, told them the situation and expected that they would reimburse me the difference. To my surprise the customer service representative said the hotel made a mistake and what I see on my receipt is price that Priceline paid the hotel for my stay (~$55/night). I informed the customer service representative of my dilemma in getting reimbursed using a receipt which claims I paid less than my credit card was charged. He seemed not to care at all and said he'd call the hotel so they don't make the same mistake again. When I asked how that would help me, he didn't have an answer, but he did wish me a nice day.
Priceline clearly doesn't care about it's customers. I guess it's a service they expect people will use once. The company will take what they can, and then hope some other sucker will use the service. I travel quite a bit and have used Travelocity and Orbitz without much problem. The one time I remember having an issue with Orbitz, the customer service took care of the problem and credited my account. Lesson learned: I will NEVER use Priceline.com again!
LA CROSSE, MISSOURI -- First, over the past 18 months Priceline's hotel ratings have deteriorated. ***1/2 hotels are closer to **. Best Western Plus is definitely NOT more than ** hotel.
Priceline list under their amenities 'pets allowed' but do not inform you that this is NOT an amenity since we were charged $45 for the cat. When I phoned to inquire, got Priceline Filipina robots who were 'sorry' but couldn't do anything but read from a script.
Absolutely THE WORST EVER....

Booked a room in-route to California. We decided to stop in Las Vegas for the night. We booked one room at the Sante Fe Station Casinos - for two double beds, said the room had free Internet. When we checked in we were informed that we had two rooms booked asked if we wanted both. We said no we only had one booked. We were told we already paid for that one as well as they billed us for it already. We were told to call up Priceline as they were the ones to bill it the hotel could not help us.
Called Priceline and so far we have been on hold for 15 minutes and counting. We are not sure what there is to figure. A couple with a young child come into town we only booked one room what is there to figure out. Why would we book two of the exact same room at the exact same time on the computer. Makes sense to everyone but Priceline. Okay so it took 18 minutes for someone to tell decide to refund our second room. Naturally even though even though we did not use the second room it will take up to 7 days to refund even though they took it out immediately they cannot give it back. She was saying "Are you sure you want to cancel it you won't be able to use it again?" I was like what does she want us to do invite strangers in to use the room for the night. I don't get it.
Guess whose services we won't be using again.
PRICELINE GET A CLUE.
