Stay away from this company, and avoid at all costs getting in an accident with these ppl fault or no fault, they will rip you off. Was involved in an accident in 2011, was rear ended by a Progressive policy holder which totaled my and injured myself causing PCS. Had to get a lawyer to have my case settled, they will at all costs make you look like the criminal instead of the victim. Add reply
They offer a snap shot for a discount and ones they get your data and claim you get a discount you get a letter with news that your premium has increased. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS "so called deal" IS NOT. Don't make the same mistake I did. 1 Replies - Latest reply on 12/03/2013Add reply
GEORGIA -- My brother was travelling from Fla to N Ga to visit me when he was involved in a car accident that totaled his car in a small town 4 hours away from me.(Friday before Vet Day). It is now 11/19 and he is still without a car, or even an insurance check. He has had Progressive for over 10 years and all of a sudden he no longer has his car rental insurance either? He never cancelled it. It took a week before his car was towed away for inspection. Where is FLO?
Needless to say, I cancelled my insurance from them and so will he when this claim is settled. Good thing I was ONLY 4 hours away. The town he was stuck in had no motels or car rental agencies. What would he have done if I had not been nearby? (If you consider 4 hours to be nearby)

MONTEREY, CALIFORNIA -- Progressive insurance is the worst for boat insurance. I had an accident in which my mast was bent and they turned it down. They said it was metal fatigue without even testing. To make maters worse they sent an adjuster who does RV and motorcycle.

i had my mast inspected by the manufacturer and it was not due to fatigue but accidentally leaving the vang on [too] tight in heavy down wind sailing. The builder sent a letter to that effect and they still said it was due to fatigue. Seems that they have some kind of mental ability to telepathically test metal.
Don't buy progressive insurance
MADISON, WISCONSIN -- I was rear ended by one of their insured motorist. The company does not return phone calls, they attach a claims adjuster to your claim and then no one else can help you except for that particular person. The supervisor is unavailable as well. I left several messages requesting a call back at work and they call my cell phone stating that they knew I wanted a return call at my place of work...really. Roxan was my adjuster and I hope I never have to work with Progressive ever again. Worthless insurance company how is only out for money and not people.2 Replies - Latest reply on 10/17/2013Add reply
OREGON -- I am a Progressive customer (sadly) who was hit by another Progressive customer. (I was sitting in my parked vehicle when I was backed into by the other driver) Progressive has told me that if the other driver doesn't respond to their calls within 30 days then they will not cover the accident and I will have to take the other driver to court

This company will try anything to not have to honor their coverage. I'm going to have to take both the other driver and Progressive to court. Progressive policy holders BEWARE. Run from this company!
CRANSTON, RHODE ISLAND -- I had Progressive insurance for well over 11 years. I thought it was normal for insurance rates to go higher now and then due to the economy. In all the years I was insured with Progressive I had NO accidents, NO tickets and a perfect driving record. Then it came to light that they were raising my insurance rates every year not because I was ever late with a payment (because I was never late) and not because I did anything wrong as far as my driving record. They raised my rates because of my credit rating!!!!

Can someone please tell me what does my credit rating have to do with my automobile insurance? BTW I paid them in person and in cash.
HORRIBLE Customer Service !!

ORLANDO, FLORIDA -- Recently...6/8/13 one of your customers was at fault and hit my car. I ended up with car damage and needing therapy for my back. You gave me a car to drive while you were fixing mine. I was called 4 business days after the date I was told I would be followed up with. Then when I call back to confirm I will be picking up my car I cannot get a person. I leave a message what was not received. When I get there I wait 30 min (in a lobby that only has one other customer in it). Apparently my car was ready but not washed. Then I am expected to fill up the gas tank. Your client hit me, inconvenienced me, now you are going to inconvenience me as well and expect me to fill the car with gas. You gave me my car back with low tire pressure. I didn’t give it to you that way. Nor did I give you my car with the tail light out (on the side I was hit).

The $43.00 it cost me to fill up your tank in so little compared to the amount of money you may have received from me one day or from a referral by me for auto insurance. I expressed this to your customer service department. Their response, “Sorry, you have fill it up or the charge is something like $6.00 gallon.
NEBRASKA -- If you have Progressive auto insurance, you need to check it carefully. A default policy (which everyone has) has no medical coverage for the driver if you are at fault of the accident. I have been with them for 7 years and had no knowledge that I would not be covered if I was the "Driver" and the accident was my fault. The customer service is terrible!!! YES I read my policy and it does not state the driver is excluded, it only states passengers. But me assuming I would be covered since it is my insurance was totally blown away they did not disclose this information to me.

I would think as a good respectable insurance they would explain the policy and try to get you to "pay" more for additional coverages, but NO they didn't.
Progressive in my opinion are big scammers. Get you the cheapest policy possible and screw when you need them. Therefore they can deny all your claims and keep your money in their pocket!
BUYER beware!!!!!! If you do not understand insurance you need to ask questions!
TAMPA, FLORIDA -- Got my renewal notice from Progressive car insurance. Been customer for 7 years. No tickets, no accidents. All cars are 7 years older.

Decided to shop around. Geico - for the exact same coverage would charge us 30% of what Progressive billed us for.
Called Progressive: was told that they could look into our coverage and/or rates. Thanks for nothing.
Don't get comfy with Progressive - shop every year. Good customer means nothing to them.
