HIGH POINT, NORTH CAROLINA -- Thanks Chris for everything at the Public Storage in the High Point NC location!
When I needed a storage facility to help expedite my moving experience two years ago, Public Storage was such a help then, it is still a help now! with caring and concerned people like Chris at the High Point facility. Went in, got my Unit, paper work done, came out...Wow! All under 30 minutes. That's twice in a row. Thanks again Chris & Public Storage!!!

COLUMBUS, OHIO, OHIO -- An employee of Public Storage dumped (yes dumped) personal documents relating to Public Storage accounts in a neighborhood park in Columbus Ohio. Not only was this littering and an insult to the community involved, but it compromised such sensitive data as license numbers, account information, names and addresses. Public Storage has since been stone walling all attempts at accountability. I was even told that [snip] was just simply too busy to address this problem. I would be very careful about using a company that has such low accountability standards.1 Replies - Latest reply on 02/08/2013Add reply
BROOKLYN, NEW YORK -- The prices are too high and at the time of moving in my things they informed me that I should move out before the 6th of the month or I will be charge, which sounds great at the time, now it was time for me to move out my things in which I did on the 5th of the month. I went to the clerk to let her know that everything was out of the unit, she told me that I have to pay a fee for the the 5 days that I use the unit. I took out all my things and there were so many rat poop I was sick to my stomach. I had the worst experience with Public Storage.1 Replies - Latest reply on 08/14/2013Add reply
STERLING HEIGHTS, MICHIGAN -- Cooperate management are far from profession. They do not work with the employees, nor do they work with the customers. If you're planning to work for them, you would not be happy and if you plan to rent, watch out. Don't understand, then rent from them. Some people mention Nick [snip] - Regional Manager and Dawn [snip] -District Manager, very negative business people. Broken gates that do not get fixed for days on end and no cameras on site. Valid completes and lack of reimbursements at all costs. The Michigan state needs new managers. 1 Replies - Latest reply on 11/19/2012Add reply
WEST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA -- Though the customer service was wonderful, the place was disgusting! I only had my unit for 2 weeks when I decided to remove my things. I rented a 10 x 15 unit to stores my belongings from my apartment while I waited for my new apartment to be ready. I stored my items and return 2 weeks later to get some more clothes out of the unit, to open the unit to a roach fest. It was nasty and disgusting. Never again will I use this storage ever!!!!!Add reply

Public Storage says expressly in their agreement they DO NOT guarantee safety or security of their premises or any personal property they store. So, they assume no liability or responsibility whatsoever. They force you to buy insurance at their location from a provider that has a bad reputation, without even asking if you already have insurance that can cover this storage (which many people have - e. g. homeowner's or renter's insurance). Also, they force you to buy a lock at their location. The employee that I dealt with would answer only certain questions and would ignore others; and she tried hard to make me rent a bigger storage box than I needed. Bottom line: this is a company that waives its liability and pushes high-pressure sales.1 Replies - Latest reply on 08/07/2011Add reply

It's the increasing costs and service charges that annoy once you are there.
The flat monthly rental increases constantly. Nothing improves or gets better, only the rental changes. Be sure to try to get a commitment for a given term, because a month notice that increases your rate 5 to 7 1/2% with little notice is common.
Late fees are another thing. The number of days allowed continues to shrink. You are brought aboard at perhaps 10 days and before you know it the allowed time is 6 or 7.
Your options are to move or pay up.
FAIRFIELD, OHIO -- Public storage in Fairfield OH. committed a crime and auction my life without any notification except one phone call the day they had the auction. My invoice says we are paid up until July 2011. We have called for the regional MGR phone number and they keep giving me a wrong number. Customer service (WHAT A JOKE) They never answer only music. I am OUTRAGED with such poor business manners and how many other people do they do this to. I am searching for an attorney to get this handled and will most likely set up a protest in front of their store. 2 Replies - Latest reply on 05/09/2011Add reply
LORTON, VIRGINIA -- My older brother stored many of the household items from our fathers house after his death at a Public Storage facility. He paid regularly, in cash and put up with demands for larger amounts be paid on the unit for several years. He died in 2003 and because I did not have either the time to take everything out and discard the trash and find out exactly what he had saved plus the fact that I had added to what was being stored I began a policy of OVERPAYING the amount due every month. This facility has not accounted for the overpayments, has been threatening every month to "sell-off" the contents of this storage, has routinely cut off my locks and replaced with their own. I have not been able to do anything as I am homeless BUT HAVE A FULLTIME JOB< to move any of the stuff to another storage facility so have had to endure their threats, etc. I find the business practices less than honest and ethical, if possible do not do business with the Lorton, VA facility.3 Replies - Latest reply on 10/17/2010Add reply
