FREDERICKSBURG, VIRGINIA -- On 11/05/11 I stopped by Regency Furniture to look for a sleeper chair. I had found one at another store but want to be see if they had anything I might like better. My salesperson Jeanne show me several when we were walking in the back of the store and I stopped one and looked closer and saw that they had several - a twin, full and queen size sleeper chairs etc.
So she said that these were new and she had to look because it was a new item therefore she went over to the customer service area and spoke with one of the managers that was there on Super Saturday and I stood as she asked him about the sleeper and he told her that he had just got those in and they had plenty at available and it would be no problem to have it by Thanksgiving.
I went on to put it on layaway with my intention of paying it in full by the 15th. The following Monday I stop by along with my husband to show him the sleeper and a table I had been think about for our living room. So we decide to purchase the table and I asked about having the sleeper at the store for me to pick up and when was the latest I could pick it up before Thanksgiving; this is when I was told "oh, it is not available for 4 to 6 weeks."
At that time I informed them that wasn't what I was told 6 days ago. They proceed to try to tell me it is possible that the warehouse had many on that day but in 6 days sold them all. Also, I told them that he (the manager) didn't look into the system when he stated this. So I received several calls telling me that they were checking with the warehouse to see if they could get it.
Well the bottom-line is that they will have one in the warehouse on November 25th, the day after Thanksgiving. However they did offer the one on the floor that looked like someone had replaced the back cushions filling. I told them no thanks and to please get me one from the warehouse. I could not cancel the order because they were going to charge me thirty percent for their wrong.
Once I get my sleeper and coffee table I will never-ever-ever by anything else or recommend this store to any of my colleagues, relative or anyone for that matter. I will tell them about my experience and let them decide, which won't be hard.
ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA -- I recently purchased a bedroom set from Regency Furniture in Alexandria located at the landmark plaza and it was quite an experience. It was by far the most beautiful showroom I have ever seen. Every corner of the store was designed in such a way that it could put home interior designers out of work. I went to the store for my bedroom and picked up ideas for my living room. They set up furniture in ways I didn't know was possible.
Walking in the showroom can be overwhelming but the friendly sales associates make you feel right at home. The sales associates are very professional from the way they look to the way they treat their customers. No matter how many times I changed my mind the sales associate was patient with me and made my decision very easy. The best part was that when I went out to buy furniture I had a set budget for a bed and dresser.
So I went to several stores and compared prices. At Regency I ended up buying an additional night stand and a chest with the same budget I had for just a bed and dresser. They have amazing furniture at a very affordable price. There is no such thing as cheap furniture at Regency just less expensive. Even if you are not buying furniture the showroom is worth looking at.
One thing that stood out from my experience at Regency is the crazy money back warranty they offered. Listen to this, they offer you a 5 year furniture protection package that covers your furniture from accidents and damages but that's not the crazy part, they will give you your money back if you don't claim the warranty within that 5 years. Correct me if I am wrong but it sounds like a win-win situation for me as a customer. I wish my car had that kind of coverage. I think I found my store for furniture. Now I just need to find a store for everything else.
