Cannot Purchase Phone Card With Credit Card
By -

CLEVELAND, OHIO -- Yesterday I went into the Rite Aid store on West 117th Street in Cleveland, OH to purchase a phone card. The 650 minute phone card was on sale for $14.99, regularly $29.99. When I went to pay, I slid my credit card in the slot on the terminal in front of the register. Then the cashier asked me to slide the card again. It asked for a PIN. The card did not have a PIN because it is a credit card. I had to pay for the phone card with my debit card because Rite Aid does not allow credit cards to be used for the purchase of prepaid phone cards.

Good thing, because it would mean $16.15 less on my MasterCard bill, but I do find it unusual that I couldn't use a credit card to buy a phone card at Rite Aid. I have purchased prepaid phone cards from other retailers before using a credit card... This is the first time I had a problem with using a credit card to buy a phone card. I had the credit available, but my concern is, because I had to enter the PIN from my debit card to complete the phone card transaction, if MCI (who issues cards for Rite Aid) would end up debiting my debit card when the minutes run out on this phone card.

Bad Polices for everyone
By -

ADEL, GEORGIA -- I have recently found out that the first come first service rule does not apply at Rite Aid Pharmacy's. If you drop off your RX, you don't get your medicine filled first. If you bring in your RX and sit and wait for them to fill it, you get served first. So, If you drop off your medicine and they told you it will take an hour you leave, you may not get it within that hour if someone else comes in after you do and sits there. Also, Rite Aid will recognize their techs only if they went to school and get certified. Someone that has worked as a tech for 5+ years and have more on the job training but not certified is not recognized.

Racist Remarks
By -

HIGHLAND PARK, NEW JERSEY -- Until recently, I used to think the customer service at Rite Aid was excellent. A few months ago, I was in line at Rite Aid when I heard a cashier make a racial remark to one of her fellow employees. The cashier asked one of her co-workers a questions and I'm guessing this person didn't hear her. The cashier's next remark was, "do you want me to speak Chinese?" I don't believe she was speaking Chinese, but her next replies were an imitation of the Chinese language.

I thought the person she was speaking to would have brought it to management and she would have been fired for her remarks. From a recent visit to this Rite Aid, unfortunately, she was not fired or it was not brought to management. If anyone visits this Rite Aid, let's set this person straight for her remarks. From her appearance, she is of middle eastern decent and works as a cashier. She does not work behind the pharmacy.

Why Are Black Hair Products Not in the Hair Products Aisle
By -

PARKVILLE, MARYLAND -- On an early morning run to add black dye to my hair I went to Rite Aid b/c they are 24 hrs. I went to the "Hair Products Aisle" only to find everything but hair care products for people of color. In search of the products I found them around the back of another aisle in a small corner. I felt as if I was in the 1960s deep in the south. This is racist product display. Hair product should be with hair products period. There was room.

I spoke to the manager on duty. He said to contact 1800-rite-aid. So can you please help me, contact them also and let them know this is not fair. It is against "Human Rights" fought for by civil rights leaders. This store is located in Parkville Shopping Plaza Baltimore Maryland.

How Much Markup Do They Need?
By -

TROY, MICHIGAN -- Last Saturday (5/19) on my way to a graduation party, I stopped at my nearest Rite Aid drug store to pick up a throw away camera. Lucky me! They had a yellow sale tag on one of the many hanging displays of Kodak FunSaver cameras: $9.99. (Not certain but I think in small print it said originally $14.99.) Using the $1 coupon printed in a newspaper a few weeks ago, I was able to purchase the camera for only $8.99 + 6% sales tax. This morning I went to Kodak's website because I had a comment on this camera.

I was surprised to find I could purchase the identical camera direct from Kodak for $4.96. True, the price was for a carton of 10 cameras, but a retailer as large as Rite Aid certainly buys in bulk so they got that or an even better price. I'm all for capitalism, but come on now, an over 100% markup on a throw away camera? I went to Rite Aid's site and sent them an email regarding their pricing. Don't know if I'll hear from them. When I once sent them a complaint about one of their pharmacists, they did give me a return phone call. Will keep you posted.

This Rite Aid Treats Me
By -

MOUNTAINTOP, PENNSYLVANIA -- Friday night after work I stopped at the Mountaintop PA Rite Aid Store to pick up a few things and I was so impressed. I was treated great. You know the drill... I was hungry when I went in to the store and ended up buying way more than I had planned, however, I was walking around the store, picking up items and I had more than I could carry in my arms. One of the team members, F., offered to go and get me a basket. How thoughtful was that? I mean he noticed my situation and offered to help. I got to love that.

And the cashier, M. she was PLEASANT and wonderful. Yep, I like that store a lot and will definitely shop there again. I called the store Sunday afternoon to confirm the information I had so I could let their supervisors in Camp Hill, PA know, and I had the pleasurable experience of speaking with J. She spoke slowly and clearly so that I could get the information I needed. Yeah, she is good with and good for Rite Aid's customers to be sure! They get a "RAVE!" at the Mountaintop PA Rite Aid Store!

OCEANSIDE PLASA DRIVE, CALIFORNIA -- The pharmacist gave me a paper cup for water as I had to take my meds. I found the water fountain was filthy, floors dirty, with a buildup of dirt around edges of floor which I'm sure has been there since Rite Aid took over. I never purchase food, or ice cream. Medication only. I live 10 min away and it is a good thing in that sense. I cannot imagine the food and health department overlooking so many things. and how about the restrooms. A little upgrade would be nice. The complete store.

Late Opening

BROAD N WYOMING, PENNSYLVANIA -- Arrived at 7:55 sign says open at 8 am. I was waiting for bus which comes at 8:12, saw three employees go in after 8 am. Doors didn't open until 8:10?! I missed my bus of course! If you are not going to open until 8:10 then put that on the sign! May not seem like a big deal but it is to me! If I'm late I lose money so the same should apply to business, open late and get your purchase 50% off! Sounds fair to me! OPEN ON TIME!!

Poor Management and Poor Customer Service

BROOKLYN, NEW YORK -- My review about this company is their poor management and poor customer service at certain locations. I have gone into a Rite Aid and there would not be a manager in sight or there was not a security guard present. There is never anyone to help service you and long lines because they always have one cashier on site. They need to inspect their store and provide better customer service, and protection. Seeing the quality service of this Rite Aid, I no longer patron their establishment.

BROOKHAVEN, MISSISSIPPI -- I had to go to the restroom and when I went in there I was shocked. There was a water leak and toilet seat was nasty and looked like it has not been cleaned in a long time. There was rust in there. I have been to a lot of stores. It was the nastiest in all stores I have seen.
