CRESTVIEW, FLORIDA -- I had a gym membership with Riviera Gym in Fort Walton beach fl. The same owner is in Crestview FL. Julie **. When I found out my billing was continuing on for 18 months after I went in and cancelled at the front desk in writing. It was a 3rd party billing company. Called Paramount. This was non disclosure, I was not asked if that was acceptable, then the gym went out of business and I was still being billed. WTH. This is fraud, lies, deceit. Non disclosure.
So I called the owner as we run in the same Christian circles thinking that she would help. She told me she would and I never heard back from her again. Additionally I talked to her about contracts and disclosure and she did not care. I said "it is law you have to disclose," she could not be bothered with it. Her behavior was so non caring. Could have cared less about the laws, or helping to fix this fraud. I want my money back. It is $309. now plus fees for stopping payment and getting fraud to act.
So, I joined Riviera Fitness strictly to take MMA Classes. Upon being injured, I was told they could only "freeze" my account. Now, I'm pregnant and since that's not a permanent disability, they won't let me out of my contract. How were you able to get out of your contract? I don't care if I have to pay a fee, I just want to be DONE WITH THEM. Please help!
HUNTSVILLE, ALABAMA -- In response to the review on Paramount Acceptance and Riviera Fitness Center, all the information given in the review is false. First, she said she was not ever notified that the gym was closing. The gym posted signs all over the gym saying the closing date one month in advance AND the gym sent letters of notification to every single member.
Second, she said that the gym she was transferred to was 40 miles from her house. The gym she was transferred to is only 2 miles from the gym she joined at! Third, she said the gym she transferred to does not offer tanning. Every member with tanning has been allowed the opportunity to cancel the tanning portion of their membership. Riviera did not do anything unethical in the closing of that location when their lease ended.
