Hidden costs (small letter/hard to read/different location contract

Advertisement atates that for $1.00 you can get your credit scores on line; however you must use credit card to acess the information. In another location on the page in very small print there is a clause that states that you must call this number (1-800-972-7204) before 7 days have past or you will be charged $29.95 a month from then on. I am 66 yeare old and could not make this out until I found this on my bank statement and went back with a magnifying glass to find this out!!

I consider this cyber trickery and would like my money back! Further more this number is extremely hard to contact anyone that will converse with you and they know it too!!

if the print is on a computer screen, you can enlarge the font in your browser to make it bigger. so you can always enlarge anything you need to read for a contract or End User License before you buy. if you have a wheel mouse, and internet explorer, just hold down the ctrl and use the wheel to enlarge or decrease the font.

Terrible experience

Rating: 1/51 did to me as they did almost every other review I have read so I am really just putting my 3cents in as well. If you don't want to pay 29.95 for 1 credit score and then be talked to like your stupid when you try and figure out what happened it is to late. I believe that is the only way they make their money is by misleading and taking advantage of customers. Please be very wary when dealing with this company if you decide. I am an honest hard working tax paying citizen. So it is not likely that I am just making this stuff up. Very frustrated and disappointed in how this all worked out.

When I am considering a service such as this, I examine the fine print VERY carefully. ESPECIALLY if they require a credit card. I'm referring to services that advertise free reports/scores, since I would never pay for this. I follow up after I have cancelled to be sure it "took".

The link Skye posted to Huck's informative I plan to check into, just to take a snapshot of where I stand out of idle curiosity.

Unlawfully withdrew funds from my account
Posted by on
I am being scammed by Score Sense and need your help... they unlawfuly withdrew $59.90 out of my checking account. However they did return half of the $29.95... moreover they refuse to surrender the remainder ($29.95). I plan on making a police report as well.

How did they get your checking account information? What did your bank say when you told them?

More details would help us to understand what happened.
spiderman2 on 03/11/2011:
If you gave them your account number I don't think the police are going to be very interested. Ask your bank what you need to due to make sure they don't get any more of your money.

Somewhere in the fine print, you will see a clause that you give them permission to access your account. No scam here, you just did not read the paperwork. And it was not unlawful. This is a civil matter, and the police are forbidden from becoming involved unless a breach of the peace occurs
KT on 06/12/2011:
You simply did not read the fine print. Yes it's onerous, but must be done. Scoresense is a legit company that provides a good service--they monitor any changes to your credit reports and they insure you against id theft. All you have to do is call within the 7 days and cancel. If you failed to do that, call anyway and say it is a "scam" or that you are calling the BBB and you will probably get that month's fee back. If you don't, chalk it up to experience. Just be smart anytime you put your info out there on the internet! Read before you buY!

Sorry have not been back into this website as I never received an email stating there were responses. Update I did receive all of my funds back late June. After filing a complaint with the BBB... and I was smart... I got my money back I stayed diligent and did not back down... So it's all good.
