I purchased a bulk order of cymbals from a vendor I met at an industry trade show of musical instruments. The American Rep sent me a few samples and I sent him the payment in full for a large order to cover my store for most of the year. The prices were too good to be true. Four months later I have yet to receive my Silken cymbals. Only broken promises. The product is good. The American network is not. I get no response from the website, and emails keep promising the product soon. BUYER BEWARE!

If anyone can help please contact me. I have a huge amount of money floating on this order.
Company Response 06/23/2009:
I am the North American Silken Importer. I have no record or emails from this so called buyer of bulk cymbals. He claims he bought enough for an entire year and has a huge investment on the line. Lets see the proof right now.

Where is this company based in and how did you pay for the merchandise?

I can find nothing about this company anywhere on the web.
Slimjim on 06/06/2009:
Are they Silken or Zilkin, as in the title? Either way, sounds a lot like Zildjian Cymbals. No doubt not by accident. Reminds me of those Allpine stereos or Folex watches.

I think you nailed it, Jim

Jump on your reps rear hard.

Who pays for an order in full up front with a company they have never dealt with or ever heard of?
Anonymous on 06/06/2009:
Should always use an LC (Letter of Credit), bank holds the secured funds till order is received. No delivery, no money and the funds go back to the buyer.
brunsonic on 06/23/2009:
Show us your proof of this so called investment. sounds like your flaming and it should stop!
brunsonic on 06/23/2009:
there are no zilken cymbals.. they are simply Silken
brunsonic on 06/23/2009:
please send invoice so that I can track your purchase. and please make sure you have the spelling correct for the name of the company. you have spelled it two different ways and I can not find any records that support your claims.

The American distributor ripped a friend of mine off. He was to get all his order in February. My buddy told me the cymbals are half okay, the rest dogs. But the distributor only sent him a few cymbals. After all was said and done now I know two buyers that have lost thousands dealing with the North American distributor. I heard he is getting served papers at a show in Mid July. Anyone knows what show it is? I need details to let my friend know so he can be a part of the class action suit. Please help.

Silken-Isn't that Sino-Tibetan for Zildjian?

all this talk of thousands of dollars lost and orders unfilled. who are these friends of yours and these buyers you refer to? as I said I am the rep and dist for silken here in north America. I would like to see these reciepts or documents that support your claim as well. I am available anytime. 719 499 9084. my number is on the site also. its strange you and the original posted complaint still have not presented any proof of your claims. I will be glad to correct all of this at any point. in fact I did send a large order to a former dealer in New York who did not pay for his order in complete and he called them dogs too. there must be a connection. remind him not to sell those dogs to anyone since they would be so unfit. I told him to send them back for non payment and I would sell them to any who might want them but he refused. I havnt found any of these cymbals to be as bad as you and he put it. in fact I sold out of my entire inventory at the chicago drum show a couple of months ago. they all came from the same order.

best answer "company response"!

if the poster has a cancelled check, proof of purchase by credit card, there is a case. sounds like there is no proof of purchase, or at least shown.
brunsonic on 06/24/2009:
thanks madconsumer!!! its a shame that propaganda and these methods are being used. it must mean we have someones attention and they feel threatened. there are no better cymbals in the world for the money. read the reviews in the latest drumhead magazine.
tampatiffini on 07/10/2009:
Yes, I have your number, address, email and still no product. The amount adds up to a Felony in interstate trade. I am not the only one still waiting. I'm sure you will be in Nashville next week selling cymbals with my money. I hold you and Hunan Chang aka "Ken Silken" responsible. What a disgrace you are to the business, your supplier "KEN", and humanity. DON'T QUIT YOUR DAY JOB!
tampatiffini on 07/10/2009:
Oh, yes, I have all the receipts, packing, and pictures of the few you sent me. I will take action at the trade show against you and your distributor. All you other posters don't know what your are talking about. I'm no dummy. I got burned and will never deal with this guy again. BEWARE!
Soaring Consumer on 07/10/2009:
Tampa I suggest contacting the Office of the Attorney General, and find out what can be done about this.

Sounds like to me that you may need an lawyer that specializes in international commerce.
tampatiffini on 07/10/2009:
Thank you Soaring Consumer! Could I contact both the State and Federal level of the Offices of the Attorney General?
Soaring Consumer on 07/10/2009:
Start with your state's, if he can't help you he will probably offer you advice on what to do.
PepperElf on 12/20/2009:
hmm I wonder if fake-Zildjian cymbals are really that good... I mean compared to the real ones...
kind of like the fake watches I saw there... looked nice but they were missing some of the features of the real ones
Sam on 10/11/2013:
So it looks like no one ever pursued their (what seems to be fake) claims. The company is still doing business, no one went on to serve papers to anybody. Is there more credible news about this?
