99 ACURA CL TRANSMISSION AND EGR FAILURE
Posted by Daat on 02/08/2005
DALLAS, TEXAS -- Regarding the failure of the transmission in 1999Acura CL. The previous post states the transmission failed at 80,000 and this was unaceptable. My 1999 CL transmission failed at 24,000miles which I would think would be grounds for a new transmission . Acura replaced the transmission with a REBUILT TRANSMISSION, AND WARRANTED IT FOR 12,000 MILES. There have been numerous problems with this 99CL , and now the EGR is out for the second time. It was supposedly fixed at 29,000miles but it is now inoperable again. This is the first Honda product I have owned and in considering this at this time it may be the last. I was in the process of purchasing a new Honda, but in thinking about my experiences with this Honda product I am now hesitating.

The same one year/12,000 mile warranty you received on the transmission should also be on the EGR. How many miles/time has it been since the EGR was replaced?

Wait a minute!!! EGR Valves are part of the federal emissions, which Acura warranty can be either 2/24,000 or 8/80,000 depending upon manufacturers "Specific Componets". Check your owners manual for what is considered "SPECIFIC COMPONETS" it may vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Good Luck

Exceptional Service
Posted by on 11/29/2001
HOUSTON, TEXAS -- I want to take this time to extend my sincere appreciation to the Service Department in their excellent customer service. I've been through other dealerships that just want to make a quick buck and don't want anything to do with you afterwards. Sterling McCall Acura is nothing like that and I would definitely buy another car from them for the service alone. They're a hard act to follow. Keep up the good work!

To help keep me as a potential future customer, I would like the following:

Have the managers give everyone a pat on the back who works at that dealership for a job well done.
