FRAMINGHAM, MASSACHUSETTS -- I have called the TD BankNorth's toll free number and got an local Mortgage specialist's contact for discussing my investment property's mortgage needs. I explained every detail to this Loan office about my needs and she lured me to fill an online mortgage application by offering great interest rate and 10% down payment options.
I filled the complete application but no one got back to me for days! Usually, mortgage companies are quick enough to take application and issue a priliminary pre-approval letter based on your application and credit report. I have perfect Credit, good job, cash in bank, own primary residence and Income property with +ve cash flow.
I called after a week and she told me that underwriter needs more information. So I complained that no one called me to ask for additional information, can I dream of it ? I gave the information. No reply back for 2 days, so I called her back again. She started telling me that well, you need to put down 30% down and offered much higher rate of interest. Again, I said that why didn't you call me to give this disapointing news. The griefe, The TDBANKNORTH, lures new applicants in with false offers and they are very slow. You could loose the deal in the time they will make their mind.
They had me fill an hour long application, pulled my credit report, never called back, after I chased them, they told me that I need to put down
30% !! I could have got the loan at those terms from any mortgage company.
PUTNAM, NEW YORK -- Went for a loan at this bank in NYC. Lost all essential documents the first week. Asked us to resend. Got mad at them but did it anyway. Found out one of the loan officers took our confidential information home with them. Found out about this when she called us from her house to say she found the packet and heard a baby crying in the background. They talked about each other incessantly. Stuff customers are not suppose to hear. I don't like her, this one doesn't know what they are doing. For that alone, I would never bank here. It's too big. They just don't care.1 Replies - Latest reply on 08/24/2013Add reply

CHERRY HILL, NEW JERSEY -- My mortgage on s secondary home in Ocean City, NJ was declined because the condo association did not have guaranteed cost replacement coverage and my of the two units (I owned only one) were rented out for the summer. While TD's decision is fine, my consider is that they had this information from day 1. So why do we continue the process if these two items were not going to change. Instead for 90 days they ask me for additional information, we get an appraisal, I follow up, etc. Just trying to get a hold of a "live" person was painful. Note the original mortgage on this home was provided by Commerce Insurance who TD purchased. The insurance piece was funny as well because the insurance is with TD Insurance and they could not provide this coverage. Overall a very difficult process, which lead me nowhere.1 Replies - Latest reply on 11/15/2010Add reply

I was in a branch office of TD Bank getting a new card because mine was compromised. Someone in Illinois had used it several times on November 23rd but TD Bank only let the first one through in my "Pending transactions", but did flag my card. I never use my debit card for anything but store purchases but mostly for gas, never online. When I was in the branch office, I over heard two other customers saying the same thing happened to them. This only in ten minutes of being at the branch. I asked outside after leaving, if they found out where the charges were made, and they were the same area that mine were made. Has anyone else had this problem with TD Bank in the last week or so? Or ever since the whole debaffel with the merging over a month ago?3 Replies - Latest reply on 11/27/2009Add reply
