I just purchased a full size cotton mattress from TCS. As one should do before new putting bedding on a bed, I washed it first. After drying the cover, I struggled to get it on...and discovered a large (rather obvious) yellow urine stain in the middle of the cover.
Also, the filling was bunching up after only one washing. There is a long crease across the cover that will never go way (smooth out)...as the cover was sewn improperly. Even if the stains weren't so apparent, I could never sleep on a crease not bunched up filling material. I need a flat, smooth surface to sleep on. I can even feel a grain of salt if there's one on my bottom sheet. The crease will never go away. I've already pitched the plastic bag it came in.
Bottom line, I will not sleep in someone else's urine stained bedding. I cannot sleep on a crease that resulted from ineffective quality control and worker carelessness... not to mention that the filling is bunching up and I've never slept on the damn thing. My old mattress cover has lasted nearly 10 years and is still in good shape but I wanted a new one that did not have some minor damage from my heels on one end.
And I've had cancer three times in the last 11 months, had three major operations (one was on Oct 30th and another just this last Friday. I endured 33 radiation treatments last summer and have lost 135 lbs. I am malnutritioned and weak from the pain. I live with nausea, pain and hunger 24/7. The only thing I can eat is liquid nutritional drinks in my gastric feeding tube. I still cannot taste anything but salt and chicken broth. My life pretty much sucks.
The Company Store's quality of merchandise is unbelievably bad. Because of all the surgeries, radiation treatments and suffering I never even took the mattress cover out of the box until last week. I washed it but waited for my daughter to come over today and to put the new cover on my bed. Boy was I shocked. Urine stains!? Also, I'm past the three month period where I can return the cover.
On Jan 9 I ordered a comforter for delivery to NYC, believing it would be there when I arrived . . . it was only coming from VA. Of course it wasn't here and I had to buy something here instead so on the 14th I called and canceled order. Like another contributor experienced, the self righteous snobs told me it couldn't be canceled because "I can't tell if it's been shipped". He transferred me to someone else who said it wasn't shipped yet it was still too late to cancel. Why? Oh, no reason, just because we use archaic methods of tracking / shipping / retrieving and can't cancel the order in process??? Anyway I got the item - too late - on January 21. I called to get a return label. The dimwits sent one - for USPS. I live in a NYC apt bldg and, no, USPS won't pick up at a building. So how the hell am I supposed to get a big box to a post office. Put it in a cab and pay even MORE money to cover their archaic incompetence? WTF? A few months ago I ordered two things and paid big money for RUSH delivery. Because one of the two items wasn't available they held the order up till both were available THEN sent it rush. Are you fricking kidding me????
Why send it RUSH if you couldn't rush the products. No brains at this organization. I like their products well enough but next time I will order from another reputable firm - I should have tried even Lands End. They at least stand behind their actions and are nice about it!
