LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA -- I recently purchased the Surf'N'Talk package from Time Warner which includes unlimited phone calls, and 6M RoadRunner cable internet, all for $72.95/month, which with the one time installation fee of $20, would come to $92.95.

First of all, they charged my credit card a week before the tech even came to set it up, which would have been fine, except...The technician came to install it, and he informed us that we would have to pay $15 for every phone jack in the house that we wanted hooked up, which in my house was a total of 7 existing jacks, for a total of $105!!
I was outraged that the sales person NEVER told me about this. In fact, I was on a budget and explicitly made it a fact to make sure that there were no extra fees involved. She told me no, only the one time $20 installation fee. Needless to say I canceled the installation and the service. I am glad that at least the tech was honest enough to let me know BEFORE he started installing them.
Now I am waiting to see if they refund me for the $92.95 that they charged me. If they don't, I will definitely be contacting American Express to dispute that.

This Rinky-Dink outfit can't even keep the three major networks delivered to it's customers. Here's what I'm doing and I hope you will too.
I watch ABC about 33% of my viewing day.
For every day Time Warner Cable is not delivering ABC programing to me, their subscriber, they are in breach of contract.
It is resolved that those Time Warner Customers not receiving ABC programing will pro-rate their Time Warner Cable bill by 33% for every day that ABC is not included in their cable TV service."
If only a few people do this, Time Warner will just blow us off, but if MOST of us do this, they will have to honor our resolution.
WAUKESHA, WISCONSIN -- Around May 2009 I signed up for a price lock guarantee with Time Warner Cable. I was supposed to get a fixed monthly rate for 2 years with the stipulation that I would have to pay a cancellation fee if I changed services before the 2 years was up. Time Warner never honored this lock. My bills started going up after the first few months. I spent a lot of time on the phone, and eventually they gave me partial credit for overpayments, and reduced my payment to a price that was around $10 over the original rate lock. The second year of the rate lock was billed at this slightly higher rate, and I let it go. In may 2011, I got a letter from Time Warner letting me know that my price lock was up for renewal, and that my rate would increase by only $5 if I decided to let the contract renew for another 2 years. $5 seemed like a small increase, so I decided to let the price lock renew. My next bill increased by $30!!! I have spent several hours on the phone and am getting no where. Time Warner maintains that these increases are in fees and other charges which are not subject to the rate lock. They never sent written terms and conditions for the rate lock, and they have been very deceptive and evasive throughout this process. They now want a hefty cancellation fee if I decide to cancel service before 2013. This is unethical.2 Replies - Latest reply on 04/06/2013Add reply
WATERVILLE, MAINE -- I am a subscriber to Earthlink internet services, which is supplied through Time Warner Cable. I have had the service for over a year.
I recently subscribed to Time Warner Cable for there TV Cable (three months ago)
Time Warner Cable tried to sell me their bundle service which includes an e-mail service and I refused the e-mail service.
After the TV cable was set up and working, I receive a notice from Earthlink that My Internet service was to be cancelled unless I called a certain phone number, which I did, there were a lot of calls made between Earthlink customer service and Timer Warner after it was stated that everything was fixed and my Earthlink Service would not be cancelled. This was in January 2012, in February I get another e-mail from Earthlink that they had been notified that my internet service was to be cancelled again.
on Feb 20th it was cancelled, and I had to spend 3 hours on the phone with various service reps until it was discovered by one of the Earthlink people that Time Warner Cable had supended my Earthlink service

OK SO IVE NOTICED SOMETHING. IS IT ME OR IS TIME WARNER CABLES BILLING CYCLES OFF BY LIKE A WEEK. THEY CHARGE ME $120 ONE MONTH, THEN 30 DAYS EXACTLY LATER THEY CHARGE ME $ 248 ? THIS IS ONE MONTH EXACTLY AS THE BILLING CYCLE SAYS WITHOUT BEING LATE. I SPOKE WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE IN THE BILLING SECTION AND THEY GET ALL CONFUSED, I THINK ITS DUE TO THE CONFUSING MANIPULATIVE BILLING CYCLE. ISNT THIS A BIT ILLEGAL TO BE CHARGING PEOPLE LIKE THIS. I DONT KNOW IVE ALWAYS BEEN A LOYAL CUSTOMER TO TIME WARNER CABLE BUT WHEN IT COMES TO STUFF LIKE THIS, THIS IS BS.! I DONT FEEL LIKE THEY APPRECIATE US AT ALL BY DOING THIS. WHAT THEY SHOULD DO IS CHARGE ME $120 FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER, $120 FOR THE MONTH OF DECEMBER, $120 FOR THE MONTH OF JANUARY... NOT $120 FOR THE MONTH OF NOVEMBER, $248 FOR THE MONTH OF DEC, AND THEN $120 FOR THE MONTH OF JAN. ITS ALL RIDICULOUS! BUT GUESS WHAT GUYS! NOTHING WE SAY MATTERS SO WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING COMPLAINING RIGHT
