NORTH CAROLINA -- The item arrived in a damaged box from Fed X, it was clear it had been previously opened, when we opened it the item was very flimsy - product not as advertised, multiple missing parts - Never order Folding Slide (for toddlers). Hassle Free Return is a joke - calling customer service, working online and finally taking the item to the store for only a refund for the damaged item, lost as much on the shipping. Will never again order any item online from Toys R US. I am out the shipping costs and lots of time and frustration.Add reply

What should have been a fun day for our kids turned very sad. We went to Toys R Us to buy them gifts. When we got home one of the toys broke as we tried to get it out of the box and the other toy didn't even work at all. Of course all the toys came from China. If we can't count on Toys R Us to supply us with great toys for our children, who should we count on!?
In mid November toysrus.com was promoting hot holiday toys and if you purchase it now to guarantee delivery by December 1. On December 1 I received the backorder email? Wait, isn't this what I was trying to avoid? Talked to customer support and no one knows when the items will be available for shipment. Contacted back and said they will ship this week, still no shipment. Apparently false advertisement and deceit is common business practice.

Should I mention the order I made this week "available for in store pickup" that they cancelled the next day because they couldn't fulfill the order? This company is questionable at best.

ONLINE -- When I bought the item online, Little Tykes placed a hold of the amount on my bank account. They charged the same amount when it shipped, so now I have two charges on my bank account for only one item. The hold charge will not drop off for 3-7 business days so I cannot use my money for that time. I am on limited income and need the money. The bank told me to give them some information to be faxed to them so they can release the hold, but Toys R Us refused to even listen to me, saying over and over, sorry we can't help you and terminated the call. I searched the entire website for hold information, and after searching and clicking around for more information, I finally found it, but it is very deceptive and they do not inform you when you are placing the order.Add reply
WINCHESTER, VIRGINIA -- I purchased a Christmas gift online at Toys R Us that had already been purchased by another family member. When my order arrived I attempted to return it "hassle free store return" at my local Toys R Us. I was informed that I could only receive merchandise credit for an online order! My new and unopened Lego set that cost me 80.00 could not be refunded back to my credit card! I had to waste the money to mail the package back to receive a refund to my credit card. So buyer beware about this stores return policy. I would encourage you to shop at any other company that sells all of the stuff that Toys R Us does.3 Replies - Latest reply on 01/01/2012Add reply
For Cyber Monday, Toys R Us is advertising free shipping on orders over $49, however, if you read the details, you only get up to $20 in free shipping. You are charged any shipping costs over the $20 limit. This seems deceiving since they advertise free shipping with the minimum order clause but conveniently omits revealing the $20 limit up front. There are too many other toy stores offering completely free shipping for me to continue shopping at Toys R Us.5 Replies - Latest reply on 11/27/2011Add reply

My husband and I were going to be out of town for the Baby Shower for my Nephew's wife. I elected to place an order with Babies R Us from her registry list and have it delivered with expedited shipping.

I ordered several items. About 2 weeks later, got an email stating I would be getting a refund for one item that was returned. I made a call. One item was sent UPS and the rest were sent USPS. The one item sent UPS was returned because "the address" non deliverable. The customer service representative did not understand why. She asked if I wanted to re-send the item. I declined as it was too close to the date of the shower. She then offered to refund my expedited shipping for me ($20.00) to the credit card I used.
Happy to say that on my last bank statement the refund for the returned item as well as the entire shipping cost was credited to my account.
