While trying to add minutes I was on the phone for an hour before they hung up on me. The line was so noisy and the English was so bad I could not understand what was being said. I was sent from one person to an other while the line was filled with noise called music. I am getting a new phone even though I have over 1000 minutes left. Add reply

Purchased a new Tracfone and wanted to transfer my current phone number to the new device, as well as activate the new device. Called the service number 800-867-7183and got a recording saying all agents are "busy helping other customers" so wait on the line or call back. I waited and another recording came on saying my wait time would be approximately 15 minutes. I waited 2 hours and 18 minutes before hanging up; all I heard was music over and over and no person ever got on the line to service me, the customer! I should have known not to buy the new phone because we have used Tracfone for more than 5 years and EVERYTIME we buy minutes or upgrade it is a long wait on the phone. Noting is done easily, the service people try but must follow a script "please bear with me" wait, wait, wait, and then enter more codes, oops, try this one, ok, then try this one...... My boss finally told me to GET OFF THE PHONE and work, so I don't know if I waited aq bit longer than the 2 hours and 18 mionutes that I would speak to a service agent. Buying more time online. I had an updated credit card with new security code. Tracfone would not accept new security code. Tried several times. Ended up with 5 (five) charges on card and no minutes or time. Had to wait a very long time for support to answer. Was told by 2nd level support they would not deal with problem. I had to go through bank. I will use up minutes and go to another provider with hopefully better service. It is a useful product until you need help. The screen on my existing Tracfone cracked creating a huge black spot in the middle of my screen. It is impossible to see anything. I contacted Tracfone hoping to get the same model as a replacement. They did not have the Motorola in stock and I was offered a LG. "Okay, are the SIM cards compatible", I asked? Tracfone refuses to unlock their SIM cards so they can be used in another Tracfone phones. What is the purpose of saving stuff to the SIM card when I am unable to transfer it to my new phone? Plus, I must return the broken phone, now Tracfone has all my contact info to use as they choose. That is frightening!!

Their Customer Service is horrible at best. People are obviously reading off cue cards, there is no such thing as a "real" supervisor or "real" technical support. When I asked for such I got passed along like a bad cold, given the same rote memorization "..if you put the SIM card from one phone in another it will not work.. We will now activate your phone...".
I expressed my deep disappointment in Tracfone, I will use the minutes I have and no longer support Tracfone.
