BEACH SIDE STATION IMPERIAL BEACH CA, CALIFORNIA -- Reserved with American Express Card, no problem. Day of rental, this establishment could
not take mine or my husband's AMEX. We have GREAT credit! Then they tried to swipe
VISA - again no success. Then our grandson's credit card - he is a professional courier. None
of them worked. Then we offered CASH. We do not accept CASH. Go to Home Depot to
rent a moving van. Ruined our whole day!

EDMONTON, AB -- We will never use either of these companies again! So despite the fact that PODS is part of Uhaul, you are only able to talk to specific representatives and the inter-company communication is horrible.

Constant Uphill Battle for U-Boxes

RALEIGH, NORTH CAROLINA -- I went to 4 different you Haul outlets today trying to rent a tow dolly. Each of them had dollies, in fact one of them had 3. No one would rent one claiming they were all reserved. I asked each store ... read full review3 Replies - Latest reply on 07/23/2013
MIAMI AND CHICAGO, FLORIDA -- We used Uhauls UBox system to move from Florida to Chicago. From start to finish it was a disaster. First, the boxes were not available the morning of our move, even though we reserved and confirmed weeks ahead of time. So our movers had to go way out of their way to get the boxes and had to rent two trailers to get them to us because Uhaul didn't have those either.
Next, the billing in our credit card did not match the contract price and no one could explain why.
Then, we were told our boxes had shipped and would arrive a certain day at our new apartment. Two days before our move in, Uhaul told us no, in fact our boxes would not arrive for another week. Then, the next day, someone else called to say that, actually, the boxes had arrived in Chicago and were available for our move in but that they did not have movers for us as we had been guaranteed previously.
Finally, once we arranged our own movers and went to pick up the boxes ourselves, we waited over 1.5 hours at the Uhaul store for them to actually load them onto a trailer for us. Again, no one had any explanations.
Uhaul failed us from start to finish. In the end we got our stuff the day we needed it, so in that sense the move was a success. It just wasn't smooth or organized.
I rented a truck with tow trailer from Florida to Colorado. Every step was pleasant and professional. The truck was clean. We got a flat on the way, and the replacement of the tire was handled quickly and with as little hassle to us as possible. Would use UHaul again. MESA, ARIZONA -- Had a trailer hitch installed on my Toyota Tundra in Arizona and had no problems at all with the quality of product or service. When I moved to North Carolina, I rented the largest U-Haul trailer available; it and my truck were loaded! I couldn't have asked for a more trouble-free move, and the service on both ends was excellent. Now I am having a hitch installed on my Nissan Titan; I will be watching for and expecting the same great results.

Took to Much Money for Storage
COEUR D ALENE, IDAHO -- So I got a U-haul. The first month is free and my payment was due on June 30th. Well I decided to make my payment for the $79.99 storage unit 3 days early. Somehow it went to $84.98 is what they said ... read full review
COLUMBUS, OHIO -- I prepaid for 40 miles. I moved on the same side of town and barely used the mileage I paid for. Upon return in which we only used a half of tank of gas I was charged an additional 193 miles. I did a claim and they reversed the charges and then sent another charge through my account two weeks later for 265.00. The manager Phil who was not there upon return stated he checked the odometer and nothing was wrong. So the charges stand.

I think it is very foul how the did me as a customer. When I called for assistance the customer services reps were rude including corporate office and offered no solution but to side with the manager. They don't have to worry about my business I don't trust them and I will surely spread the word of my experience.

MISSOURI -- On 11-21-12 I rented a cargo trailer at Towners Automotive 450 Hwy 53, Poplar Bluff, Missouri. The reason was to move to Grandview, Missouri. On my way the 22nd. it was pointed out that the trailer had no running lights after dark. This was not checked by the person who rented the trailer to me so I had no idea. My son-in-law called to complain and was given the royal run around, when Kevin the field manager for that area called and told me nothing was wrong with the trailer I got very upset because if the guy who rented it to me had checked the lights before I left his lot I would not be complaining on here, if I had known I would not have gone to U-Haul. The compamy does not take care of the people who rent the equipment they rent out. So I will never go to them again for any reason. The customer is always right no matter the problem! 1 Replies - Latest reply on 12/05/2012Add reply
They Engage In Crooked Practices
NEW YORK -- U-Haul asked if I needed a truck for 4 hours. If you say "Yes" you get charged the same as if you said "No", except you might then get charge "EXTRA" if you miss the 4 hour mark.
