Call them to change order placed online because I made a mistake with the protein flavor; they could not change it and said to wait for product and refuse it. This company customer service sucks.

BOCA RATON, FLORIDA -- Vitacost falsely advertised this product to be coarsely ground, but came as a fine powder like white flour. They want me to return the product, but the cost of the return postage is too high. The product cost $7.59, s&h was $4.99 for a total of $12.58. The cost of return is $10.95. Total s&h will be $15.94. The chances of getting my money back for the product will likely be nil, so I would be out $23.53. A small amount to complain about, but how many others will order from them and face this problem?. Vitacost customer service is a joke. Trying to get an accurate order shipped out was so frustrating that after 5 phone calls I cancelled a large order only to have to start over with another company.

Save yourself some frustration and start your order with a company that has better customer service.
I ordered 5 bottles of "Schiff Glucosamine Plus MSM -- 1500 mg - 165 Coated Tablets" and when I received it, it's 150 Tablets per bottle. Vitacost has been my go to supplement spot for years now, including an order made today. Two orders I made last month was shipped out the same day. I must honestly say I have never had a bad experience. Good price, fast shipping, what more could I ask for? It is sad to see a once good company go bad. I paid for two-day air delivery and got 5-day ground delivery. I requested a refund for the difference between ground delivery and air delivery which they refused because they argued it was the fault of UPS not theirs. Add reply
I will NOT be using this company for buying my supplements. Over the years the service has just gotten worse and worse until I have decided to take my business elsewhere. I would rather pay a little more and not have to wait forever to get my order. I have ordered many times from Vitacost.com and more than half my orders were broken down and many items back ordered. This would be fine if the site itself told you that upfront. However, what happens is that you pick the item, you're shown on the site that it is in stock, and then about a week to 10 days later, you're sent an email telling you that they shipped some of your order, but a few items had to be back ordered and you probably won't get them for at least 30 days. Meanwhile, I didn't order from any other site, because Vitacost.com showed clearly that my items were in stock! I have cancelled my last "back order" and will NEVER use this site again. Ordered 16 bottles of coconut water, 8 pure coconut, 8 w/ pineapple. Was sent an email that pure was *cancelled* but was not offered a substitution. Responded to email asking if I could substitute. Was told since the item was *cancelled*, I'd have to re-order and incur another shipping cost. Poor customer service and fishy business practice. Add reply
Poor customer service response and items are usually not in stock about half the time. I contacted customer service at least two times and got no response via email. I finally called. I decided to start doing business elsewhere since they can't have items in stock when they are needed. Add reply
I ordered two bottle of vitamin supplements on April 11. The company never sent me word that it was not shipping the product until Apr. 29, that is was back ordered or out of stock. And if it did ship then, it would take 4-6 days. The company made excuses but never resolved the delay problem. I tried to cancel the order online as their Web site seemed to indicate you could do.
