Very Bad Service and Food
Posted by on
TUNICA, MISSISSIPPI -- Entered Waffle House in Tunica, MS and found a booth. Every one greeted us as we entered, the service went downhill after that. Took 20 minutes for our server to come over to take our order. Got our drinks, then set there another twenty to twenty five minutes waiting on our food. Husband finally received a waffle(had ordered the meal with waffle, eggs, bacon, grits toast). Then we waited another fifteen minutes and I finally received my order of bacon egg and cheese biscuit. The sandwich came without an egg on it, so sent it back, took another 10 minutes to get it back. In the mean time, husband was still waiting for his additional food. Finally received his plate and they had put potatoes instead of grits on his plate. We never received an apology for anything regarding the mix up in food or the food being late. Worse service we have every received in a Waffle House. The staff was to interested in telling jokes and talking with each other to handle the customers. Also the floor was horrible. Had food all over it mixed with used napkins. Had the place been busy, we might have understood the mix up in the orders, however it was not busy at the time.

Several patrons had left the restaurant while we were there, without receiving their orders. We started to leave, just as some of our food came. Will never try this place again.........

I have been to several Waffle House locations and never had a problem with the service. The only problem I have is keeping the greasy food down later.

Awffle House.... nuff said.

Sounds pretty lame. I won't eat there anymore, even though my husband still patronizes the place.

Seriously? Every time?

SAINT SIMONS ISLAND, GEORGIA -- Every time I go to this Waffle House I have to ask for my food to be cooked more or I have to do it myself at my house. Not only is this food piss poorly prepared, but I find myself overcharged whenever I place an order after 12:30. These %$$## need to have something said/done to them so they understand they can't get away with their poor excuse for customer service.

Nice attitude. Sounds like you're getting everything you deserve.
Anonymous on 2009-12-21:
Amen Judge. Calling them names really makes your complaint more believable OP.
PepperElf on 2009-12-21:
nh

and I suspect the OP is "overcharged" after 1230 because he's now ordering from a lunch menu instead of the breakfast menu

and I have to agree - calling them names doesn't make the complaint valid

"Every time." Why do you keep going back if it is so bad? If you want something done, stop spending your money there. I should think the frozen waffle section of your local store and a toaster would be preferable...for you and for the Waffle House employees who have to put up with you.
jktshff1 on 2009-12-21:
what they all said
spiderman2 on 2009-12-21:
this happens every time, yet you keep going there.
i_am_canadian on 2009-12-21:
Customer service? This review really doesn't make you sound like a foremost authority on the subject.
tnchuck100 on 2009-12-21:
Another case of repeating the same action and expecting a different result. I think the problem may be a slow learner. We need to make allowances here.
i_am_canadian on 2009-12-21:
Oh, and that last line could be easily interpreted as a threat. I'd watch what you say in the presence of others, otherwise you could find yourself spending the night in a jail cell. Although perhaps that could be the best thing for both you and those 'beotch' employees.
Anonymous on 2009-12-21:
Ditto to everyone else.
PepperElf on 2009-12-21:
yes it's very wrong for him to want the staff "to have something done to them"

does sound a lot like a threat
and not a very smart one either, not if he puts it in writing online
Class Advocate on 2009-12-21:
That does it. I am never visiting that unnamed *&$#($ Waffle House more than 9 times after midnight and ordering the exact same meal!

FAIL FAIL and FAIL. I agree with all the previous posts.

Bad service

The food is not the greatest but it will get you full, but the service Hooo, the worst, yes they great you when you arrive, but that's all, after that you get ignored worse than the invisible man, instead of cleaning the tables (3 or 4) that are dirty, they talk among them and laugh like crazy.
that's all folks.

Really?
I agree the food isn't fantastic... you get what you pay for. I usually go there when I have a bad hangover. Somehow, their food makes me feel less crappy.
But, the service, where I live has been fine.

Perhaps, it's just your location.

Burnt Waffles/Slow service

I really like Waffle House...however unless I have a certain waitress, I know the service will be horrible. I always order the All Star - I know 9 times out of 10 my waffle will be horribly burnt when served to me. Yuck!

I've always loved the food at Waffle House. I don't think I've ever eaten there when I was sober.
Anonymous on 2009-07-13:
Being from New England, we don't have WH. So when I travel, it is always a treat, but like Little, I don't think I have ever done one sober. Or a White Castle either, for that matter.
tnchuck100 on 2009-07-13:
Without the specific location of this business it is not of much value. Further, you seem to have issues with too many places to be considered seriously.

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA -- Two or so weeks ago, I went to a concert with my boyfriend and one of our mutual friends (who is male) and Carowinds in NC/SC. The concert ended around midnight, and we were all starved afterwards. While trying to decide where to eat, we debated about going to a few places, and then the other male friend suggested that we go to the Waffle House a few miles from where we were. I had previously never been there, so I didn't ask if we could go somewhere else. God, I wish I had. We get there, and the place is swarming with flies and some sort of unknown crawling insects. Being guys, they were happily ordering hash browns and grilled cheeses, while I hesitated to touch anything. Our waiter was sneezing and coughing everywhere, and muttered something about having the flu but having to come into work anyway. After that, I was already VERY hesitant to eat anything. Then, I watched as a female employee opened boxes of raw meat and picked up countless bloody hamburger patties and strips of bacon with no gloves and shove them into a refrigeration device. After she was finished, she just left all the blood and boxes sitting there, walked over to a bucket of dirty water, swished her hands around for literally three seconds, and proceeded to make my waffle right next to all the hamburger remnants.

You know that there's something seriously wrong when the hygiene in a restaurant makes a sixteen year old freak out. I wouldn't suggest eating here under any circumstances, let alone bringing your kids here.

I have a hard time believing this story but if true you should complain to corporate Waffle House (1-877-9-WAFFLE http://www.wafflehouse.com/contactus.asp).

Super, I NEVER go to a Waffle house! I would rather eat out of a trash can.
Anonymous on 2007-08-18:
We don't have them out here. Went to Pensacola once and drove past one but there were no cars in the lot on a Sunday morning so we guessed it was a dump and moved on.

I ate at a WH once, about 10 years ago. The food wasn't that bad, too greasy for me. The joint I ate in was clean.

Ten years ago was a long time. Things change.
Nohandle on 2007-08-18:
A Waffle House is where many end up at 2:00 a.m. on the way home from wherever. At that time most aren’t in any condition to observe the surroundings. Superbowl, you didn't state what time of morning you passed by. That is a BIG factor.
Anonymous on 2007-08-18:
I hear ya Slim. I've ended up at a Waffle House many a time after last call.
Anonymous on 2007-08-18:
Stew, stop calling Nohandle Slim, SHE is my buddy and she is not Slimjimjohnson2000.

HEY Pirate..long time no aggravate. How have you been? I trust the family is doing nicely. By the way, did the hotel ever send you a bill for that stolen bathrobe? You know, the one you were posing in while covering your birthday suit.

Nohandle, It's my understanding they burned the bathrobe.

Customer Service

BILOXI, MISSISSIPPI -- On Memorial Day I had guest from California staying with me and I took them to breakfast at the Waffle House on Cedar Lake Road in Biloxi, MS. I had eaten there the day befor and on several occasions before then. Kay the waitress was excellent and the food good. The problem I had was there was another employee ( a girl with several tattoos on her neck) who was obviously having a "BAD DAY"> she was slamming dish racks and making loud noises with the dishes she was handling. She was also making several loud comments as she worked, this continues the entire time we were there and I had a headache when I left. I also expressed my disatissfaction about that employee with kay, she told the other employee that I had said " if she were haveing such a bad day, she should go home" From then on that employee stared at me with malice in her eyes, as I was paying the ticket at the register, she looked at me and started slamming racks of silverware and dishes, I suppose as a last non-verbal comment.
As I said I have eaten at many waffle houses across the country and have never experienced anything like that and hope to never again have to. I don't know who the manager was that day, but being in public service myself, I would have addressed the problem with the employee. Many of the other customers were also aware of the problem from the looks they were given each other.
Thank you for listening to my concerns.
Customer Service always comes first. This was disruption in the workplace and I'm sure I will eat again at other waffle Houses but not at that one.
Thank you

Hugh S. Beaugez

I don't think you should let one bad experience prevent you from going back to that same place again; after all, you've had good experiences there before. With an attitude like that, there's a good chance that employee will no longer be working thereby the time you go back again, anyway.
Anonymous on 2007-05-29:
Hugh S. Beaugez, I think you made the right choice and I would never go beck there again.
Anonymous on 2007-05-29:
I'm going to have to side with adzidek on this one.

Lidman - People make mistakes that's why pencils have erasers.
adzidek on 2007-05-29:
I'm a firm believer that pens should have erasers. I mean, I know you can buy these so-called pen erasers, but I think every pen should have an eraser on the end.
rhondam718732 on 2007-05-29:
Why in god's green earth would yur waitress repeat that statement to this person and say it came from a customer? What was she thinking? Sounds like you had the dumb and dumber duo. A half thinking waitress would have said something to her manager and let the manager handle it...not " pass notes" from customer to worker like it was Jr high.

I would have told the loud waitress to cut the BS and keep it quiet! I've done it before at other restaurants.
Anonymous on 2007-05-29:
The reason the employee stared at you meanly was because you were making a comment about her behaviour.
Anonymous on 2007-05-29:
Stew, I am going to have to disagree with anything you say for a while because you worship a man.

Ejack, you should see what Stew is saying to you on the forum's.
Anonymous on 2007-05-29:
Also Stew I cannot agree with someone who goes against his own words for the betterment of his own selfish, self.

Stew (05/24/2007)
Its stuff like this which makes me avoid Canada and anything Canada related. I think Canada should have its status as a sovereign country revoked. I'd be very interested in contributing to any cause that explored finding a way to evict them from the North American continent as well. And by that I mean causing a tectonic plate shift that would result in Canada splitting off from the rest of this fine continent and drifting off somewhere to be forgotten...much like Iceland or Ireland. They could call it poopieland.
ejack053824 on 2007-05-29:
Stew!! You starting your shyt with me again?! You've already been pardoned once by me....your final warning slick! :)

Restaurant-Review on 2007-06-10:
This Waffle House #1428 998 CEDAR LAKE ROAD, Biloxi, MS is in need of serious corporate review & by the franchise owner. I've been to this Waffle House several times with negative experiances each time.
You will find loud, rude waitress discussing personal problems about relationships & their night before.
One in particular will discuss her Xanax addiction with
an everyday looking customer while I wait for my first drink refill that is way over due.
Constant complaining about eachother is on the menu!
Evil stares if you dare not tip! Take a look at the kitchen floor & you might think twice.
Although the food may be tasty the employees here are not my cup of tea.

All reviews are from a personal experience by me and are my opinions.
